Banners, clouds, trees and rocky landscape. The foot of the vase is decorated with a band of classical patterns. Underneath the mouth rim is a band of auspicious Ruyi symbols. The cover of the jar has a another ring of Ruyi decor besides floral motifs, crowned with an attractive red finial. The wucai glazes of the jar are excellent and the colors are very well balanced. The drawings are also top notch. The figures are all rendered so vividly and full of life that as if we can hear the din of weapons, the shouting of warriors, and hissing and cladding of war horses. The vase depicts a very famous battle from the Chinese classic The Romance of the Three Kingdoms（三国演义， 长板坡赵云救阿斗） In which the great warrior hero Zhao Yun(赵云， the one with the baby wrapped in his armor) was seen trying to rescue King Liu Ben's infant son amid thick enemy lines of the encroaching armies of the powerful Prime Minister Cao Cao's. Those who have seen the recent Hollywood big hit The Red Cliffs can recall the portray of general Zhao Yun there. 19th century Lithophane in ornate metal stand and base
Up for auction is 19TH CENTURY Lithophane in a floral cast iron frame and base. The frame and base is encrusted with flowers with some handpainting. This piece is not only breathtaking but perfect condition. The lithophane shows a lady and child in the countryside with a lamb following behind. The image has great detail and is signed by the german maker PPM#23.It was made in porcelain by Prensaich Porzellan manufacture probably in the mid century. The casting has a swinging candleholder to illuminate the image. The porcelain image is 4by 5 and the piece is 12 inches tall.My buy it now is half what most sellers are asking on ebay so please no ridiculous low offers. Beautiful. Large, covered jar that we found at an estate sale in San Diego. The ceramic is off-white and the colors in the design are shades of blue. The hand painted art work is of ready to harvest heads of bok choy(Chinese cabbage) The finial at the top of the lid is a lying down. Full figure of a pug or foo dog. There are four heads of foo dogs near the top edge with holes behind their heads through which a cord, rope or ribbon could be laced. Overall in lovely condition except for any natural imperfections and a few nicks inside one lid. The texture is bumpy and there are a lot of like pin dots in the porcelain mostly on the lids. They have a nice shine except for the tops of each jar and part of the bottoms. They seem to be hand painted. The bottoms have a double circle and not other markings. Both are 9 inches tall. Mid 19th Century Chinoiserie English Biscuit Jar Copeland & Garrett?
Superb Mid 19th Century English Chinoiserie Biscuit Jar. This lovely blue and white decorated biscuit jar features a Dragon. Persimmons, a Crane in flight and Peony's. It measures 4 and 3/4 inches across and stands 5 and 1/4 inches tall, including the handle. I have tried to show the highly embossed border around the edge of the rim in the photos. The metal is all silverplate and in very good condition. The top of the handle is adorned with a silver ball and the lid is topped with an ornate silver finial. The hallmark looks similar to those from Copeland& Garrett, circa 1833-1847, but it may be from another pottery factory from the Stoke-on-Kent area of England. This is a vintage jar with lid. Made by Mason's Ironstone Vista England, guaranteed permanent and acid resisting colours, this design is in brown. This jar is 41/4" high and the top and bottom are 23/4" in diameter. This is from an Estate Sale whose Grandmother received it as a present from her husband on their honeymoon. It is in very good condition. Their are no chips or cracks. There is very light crazing apparent only on close inspection and normal for china of this age. It is also initialed by the designer. Rooster & Berries Two Handled Porcelain Jar
Porcelain two handled small jar with lid which measures approximately 3 1/2" tall with lid on. It is approximately 3 1/2" wide measuring from handle to handle. Jar has substantial age related crazing and a small hairline crack(see photo) Inside of jar has some age browning/discoloration as shown in one of our pictures. On the top of the jar is what appears to be a lady bug, and I wanted to mention that the yellow line that is shown in one of our pictures that is on the lid is not damage, it is part of the design. Sweet little jar with the rooster on one side and the berries on the other side. Jar appears to be unmarked so not sure of the maker. This was due to the Chinese government discouraging private overseas trade by diminishing the Imperial kilns output. This discovery displays a richness of form and decoration previously unknown to art historians and scholars of the period. The discovery came when a few artifacts began to appear in local fisherman's nets in 1993. The shipwreck was discovered off ... morethe Hoi an coast of Vietnam; in the South China Sea typhoon area known as the"Dragon Sea" Local free divers risked their lives in the 220 feet of water to recover objects. Later. A Malaysian salvage company fashioned diving bells where a diving team was forced to live in small, pressurized diving bells for months at a time. Each of the objects were painstakingly marked with a Hoi An authentication sticker, and cataloged using a modern bar code system by the Vietnamese Government. These stickers remain on this piece, but could be removed if desired; and should be saved for posterity. Unique objects from the shipwreck were retained by the National History Museum in Hanoi; with another 10% dispersed to 100+ regional museums. The remainder was sold at auction. Most of the auctioned pieces were dishes, pouring vessels, bottles, jars, cups, bowls, figural ceramics; and, more scarce, were small lidded containers. Antique German Blue White Porcelain Spice Canister Jar Nelker Cloves Enamel
Estate found.wonderful antique porcelain German spice canister jar with windmill motif. This jar held Nelken(cloves) In excellent condition with only minor gold gilt loss. What appears to be a tiny fleabite on the inside rim under the lid is a factory flaw and glazed over. The white spots on the blue transfers that appear to be paint loss are actually white enameled decoration. Measures approx. 4.5" tall x 2 5/8" across x 2 1/4" wide. A welcome addition to any collection.

Measuring 3 1/4" tall and 2 1/2" at the base. This lidded jar may have been used for cosmetics. Llardo acquired the company in 1980. The lid and base rings are brass with a small scalloped seashell. Please note: the lid is ever-so-slightly off center. I choose to not attempt righting it. Otherwise, it appears to be in good very condition.

Round trinket box w/ Celtic cross metal embellishment Horizon Porcelain Scotland
Striking round white bisque porcelain trinket box the lid of which is embellished with a metal Celtic cross medallion that has a red cabochon in the center. The box is about 3 1/4 inches in diameter and stands about 1 1/2 inches tall. It's shaped like a yoyo. It has no chips or cracks and looks quite nice. I don't know what metal the medallion is. Though it looks like pewter- I don't know. There is a bit of oxidation or wear to the Celtic cross part of the design, but it may be on purpose, as it gives a rustic look to it. This is an original 20th Century Fox 1977 R2D2 cookie jar. There are two chips one in the 2nd photo on his arm/leg and another very small one on the inside of the lid. Other than that and minor imperfections from being made/ painted/glazed etc. it's in great shape. To tell you the trough I didn't even notice the arm/leg chip until I cleaned. I thought it was mint. But now that I know it's there I do see it. I'm glad I decided to closely inspect it before listing. Considering its 36 years old its in great shape. My mom was going to get rid of it and I snagged it for myself because it is such a cool cookie jar. And it's a good size too.
