It is in excellent condition- painting is vibrant and there are no chips. Cracks or repairs. Not sure what kind of flowers are on jar- if anyone knows, I'd appreciate hearing from you. There is no makers marks on the jar, which I believe is an indication of its age. In 1910 a law required makers marks on imports. So jar should date to before 1910. It looks like the lid contains initials of artist. Either"aag" or"aay"

This beautiful antique biscuit jar or master sugar is marked ZAMARA on the bottom in a beautiful. Flourishing cartouche. I have owned this for many years and have tried to find another piece that has a similar mark, but without success. The jar measures approximately 6.5" wide from handle to handle, and is over 7" high to the top of the lid. It is in excellent antique condition, with only natural aging and no damage. Antique Vintage English Biscuit Jar/Cracker Barrel Hand Painted Artist Signed
A beautiful antique/vintage hand painted artist signed ceramic and metal(the metal looks to me like silver plate) English biscuit jar or perhaps a cracker barrel with gorgeous floral designs and wonderful colors! The piece measures to be about 7" tall( about 9" with handle up) x about 7" wide x about 7" deep. I am not an expert. But I believe the piece dates from the late Victorian era or Edwardian era, but it is possible for the piece to be a bit later. Please note this piece is being sold for decorative and/or collection purposes and is not intended to be used to actually store or serve food from. I could not find any mark identifying the maker of the jar itself and I could not make out the artists signature. However there is a mark on the lid which says"B.H.A. MANUFACTURED IN ENGLAND" I did some on line research ... moreand found there was a notable English silver smith by the name of Barnett Henry Abrahams. Which used the initials BHA, and which apparently made lids for some of Wedgwood's biscuit jars. I do not think this biscuit jar was made by Wedgwood and the mark used by Barnett Henry Abraham had rectangles around the B, the H and the A, instead of periods after each letter, like the mark on our lid. But I think there is still a good possibility that Barnett Henry Abrahams, which operated in the same period I believe this jar was made, might have been the producer of our lid. Though the exact pedigree of this biscuit jar is not clear. What is clear is that it is an exceptionally beautiful piece and it is in very good antique/vintage condition! Like all items of significant age and use, it does have some minor faults including: craquelure and small surface cracks, chipping, rubbing, discoloration including some stray paint marks, paint loss, scratches, discoloration and tarnish. Nippon pre 1921 Nippon Hand Painted Covered Biscuit Cracker Bowl Jar Godl Gilt
A beautifully kept pre-1921 Nippon Japanese covered bowl or"cracker bowl" It is an old piece and by law the stamp of Nippon changed to Japan in 1921. The base measures about 6" diameter but with the handles it measures about 9.5-10" overall. The background or base color is white with a cream or pale yellow that accents the side handles as well as the lid handle. As shown the decorative sides are a bit different. Gold"beading" accents on the lid and bowl. Such a nice piece for serving or decoration as well as a collector's piece. Ontario– Canada, specifically Kitchener and Ingersoll, after immigrating to Canada from Pennsylvania in the 1760’s. Later relatives were avid antique enthusiasts and many collectables& antiques have been carefully stored and passed down. And here we are offering from this collection. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This gorgeous antique jar dates around the late 1800's to early 1900's and is hand painted with grames and vines in beautiful shades- the photos do not do it justice! It has a ceramic jar bottom with a shiny glaze over the hand painting. And a silver or silverplated rim, lid and handle. Pretty wave shaped handle. The makers marks are partially showing and it is believed to be made in England(please see picture ... morefor markings) although the family collected a lot of German hand painted porcelain as well, we simply do not know. The bottom has hand painted numbers: 3599/2, 8097, 276 It is in beautiful condition for it's age with no crazing. Chips or cracks. The silver top has a lovely natural patina which will be left as is for the collector to either clean up, or enjoy as is. The lid finial is attached by a screw(nut/bolt) and is a separate piece. Please contact ... moreme to see if I ship to your country BEFORE BIDDING. Thanks. This is a wonderful Victorian Buscuit jar. It's VIctoria Carlsbad. Made in Austria, likely before 1900. It features ornate silverplated mounts on a porcelain body with a decal outline to guide the hand painting. The roses are lucious& really stand out on the green ground. With the handle up it's about 11-3/4" high. Just the jar. To the top of the finial it's almost 8" high, about 5" in diameter. The handle will stand up alone if you squeeze on the pivot pins, but it may be a little bent. The top of the handle filigree section bends back a bit, but that may be for grip. There are a few places where the painting has come off on the rose section, but I think it's where the raised white enamel was. A couple teenie spots on the green too, but this is well over 100 years old. I don't feel it takes away from the beauty of the piece. Other than that there are no chips or cracks nor any damage I can detect. Be assured I will pack this with great care& insure it for it's full value. A simply fabulous piece of Victoriana.

Pictures do not do this justice. The colors are exquisite and I can't say enough about this piece. The intense forest green with the art almost being a blush of soft warm pastels and earth tones. The subtle wild rose blossoms jump out with brilliant artistic detail. This piece is not marked however a dealer recently told me they feel it is early Limoges with the colors and the gold accents. This is made of porcelain and lavishly hand-painted with multi color flowers. This is all hand-painted and has no use of transfers. The flowers have raised jeweled centers, the flowers, leaves and stems are outlined in a heavy raised gilt. Gilt highlights the floral pattern and is brushed around the top and base of the jar. The background is a creamy tone. The top has a fluted, scalloped edge and the sides of the jar have a swirled scalloped shape. The lid is silver plate with a pineapple shaped final, it has some spots of tarnish, no dents or dings. Large size; the jar is 5 3/4" high, 6 3/4" with the lid, 5 1/4" across. Here's an excellent and RARE Nippon Portrait Biscuit or Cookie Jar hand-painted florals in medallions surrounded by gold gilt wreaths. The very best is the PORTRAIT of a European Princess! The Lid is intact and bears 6 floral medallions. This is a"transition" piece. Moving between pre-Nippon and Nippon ware: see the pale green with white border moriage outlining the flow blue Cobalt in a ribbon pattern ~ indicative of pre-Nippon pieces. Then see the masterful"Gold Scroll" gilding decoration of the wreaths, indicative of later Nippon. Transition piece, I believe. circa 1890 Unmarked. But Van Patten's ABK book of Nippon and Noritake from 2005, Page 260"Portraits" and"Jeweled-Cobalt" shows similar items, including one with the same portrait. NOW ON SALE: Here's an excellent and RARE Nippon Portrait Biscuit or Cookie Jar hand-painted florals in medallions surrounded by gold gilt wreaths. The very best is the PORTRAIT of a European Princess! The Lid is intact and bears 6 floral medallions. This is a"transition" piece. Moving between pre-Nippon and Nippon ware: see the pale green with white border moriage outlining the flow blue Cobalt in a ribbon pattern ~ indicative of pre-Nippon pieces. Then see the masterful"Gold Scroll" gilding decoration of the wreaths, indicative of later Nippon. Transition piece, I believe. circa 1890 Unmarked. But Van Patten's ABC book of Nippon and Noritake from 2005, Page 260"Portraits" and"Jeweled-Cobalt" shows similar items, including one with the same portrait. Maybe this is early Morimuri Brothers(later ... morebecame"Noritake" T his sought-after jar sits on three cobalt legs with gold gilt and is in MINT condition. With no chips, cracks or repairs. Porcelain Hand Painted Melon Shaped Cracker Biscuit Jar Flowers with Gold Trim
Up for sale. A beautifully hand painted cracker jar. This jar features wide gold bands trimmed with pink, green, yellow, and blue flowers. This jar is not marked anywhere so I am not sure who the makers is or how old it is. It does show some age though. It reminds me of some of the porcelain that came out of Japan, but I can't be sure. This jar doesn't have any chips or repair. There is a small area on the lid that has what looks to be a fold in the porcelain(see pic) The porcelain does have some air bubbles and bumps and a couple stray paint marks. The gold paint is faded in some areas and does show wear. The piece is not fully glazed. The bottom and top rim of the jar and the bottom rim of the lid are unglazed. Antique Biscuit Jar This auction is for a really nice and very well made antique porcelain biscuit jar. The old jar is marked on the bottom with old British registry marks that date it to 1926. It also has what I think are Bavarian markings so it was probably painted by another company. Has a great Clematis design and a nice lift off lid. There is a large amount of gilded paint used on the design. The lid handle an accent striping. There are no chips or cracks on the jar or it's cover. No identification marks have been found on the piece.
