The Tea Caddy jar also has a lid which fits the jar perfectly and is possibly original. The Jar has chips around the outer rims which is very commonly found on examples of this age. BROWN STONEWARE CANISTER Absolutely gorgeous stoneware canister measures a huge 8" tall by 8" across. I'm not certain of its use. But perhaps as a tobacco jar. The brown glaze is reminiscent of Bennington, but I think it may be molded stoneware from the mid-atlantic states, perhaps New Jersey. My camera flash makes the piece a bit lighter in color than it really is. The molded design features an all-over raised dot pattern, along with a spectacular raised semi-nude nouveau lady bust. Clay seems to be ocre in color. Surprisingly enough, there is very little damage to this piece.just use chips on the very bottom rim(more like slivers, really) The raised lady bust appears on two sides of the canister, and the zipper design is also on opposite sides. These 18th century jar lids are fairly rare compared to the number of jars found. This is a very good example in dug condition. Still has most of the glaze. Pair Poss. Edme Samson & Cie 19th C Covered Jar Box Porcelain Antique Faience 2
This is a pair of sweet and beautifully matched. Hand painted, small covered jars made in France. The conjoined VP maker's mark hints that they were made 1748-1803 by Veuve Perrin, but more likely, they were copies created in the last quarter of the 1800's by the Paris, France House of Samson. Edmé Samson made many excellent copies of famous maker's porcelain wares: Meissen, French Faience, Sèvres, Chelsea, etc. He openly reproduced choice museum and private collection pieces, under the caveat of marking them to distinguish them from the originals. This last step did not always occur. The pieces his artisans put out were copied so well they have become collected in their own right. These matched French jars are 1.75" tall and have all hand painted foliage wreath decoration on the lids. And swags& florals around ... morethe exterior of the jar. The foot ring on each jar is unglazed and shows signs of age. There is very minor pitting on the surfaces of each, common to the age. No crazing on these. Color is beautifully vibrant as pictured. These collectible French faience jars are in near-new condition. If you are buying more than one item from us over the next 2 days, do not pay until we send you an invoice. This wonderful vintage collectable was recently rescued from an Estate Auction. DESCRIPTION- 498: Looking for a new forever home is this rescued 4 CUP JAPANESE TEA POT and COVERED DOUBLE HANDLED SUGAR BOWL or JAR. They feature a design of pretty GEISHA GIRLS in their kimono's and carrying umbrellas to keep their skin pristine. In the background is a HAND PAINTED pagoda. Landscape scene of hills, birds, water. Built in diffuser holes on inside of spout opening in pot keeps tea leaves and bags inside pot where they belong. Just lovely in shades of pink, brown, black, grey, gold, some green and burnt orange on a white background. No major damage at all, but normal vintage issues including tiny"pepper" spots in glaze, a few original areas where top shiny glaze has missed covering the bisque, little unfinished nibs, some tiny bumps ... moreand pin holes& pits in both pieces. The hand painting is detailed and facinating to think someone hand painted all that. Gold gilting accents on girls robes, tiny raised white moraige dots on pagoda roof. Some gold rub and loss to the gold gilting on handle and flower shaped handle on top of tea pot and sugar bowl lids. Still managed to stay pretty darn nice all these years, but there is no matching creamer to go with this pair. How fun, try to find a matching creamer on ebay and complete your pair! BACK STAMP: Both pieces are hand signed by the artist on the bottom. I researched this maker's mark and cannot locate anything like it. Sources tell me this is the artists signature and it is from the late 40's early 1950's. Imported from Japan. Very old Hand Painted Flosmaron Porcelain Tea Biscuit Jar made in England. It has a creamy yellow background with beautiful flowers in pink. Coral, and yellow with blue and green leaves. There's a pretty border design in blues. The bottom is mark stamped, Made in England" and"English Flosmaron Make" 506" hand numbered) and"Avon" county in England, not the American cosmetic company) We do not know what type of metal the rim edge and handle are made of, but it is stamped on the side of the metal rim, Made in England" and has a number or other symbols just above it that are wearing off. Measures: 9.5" w/ handle up. 7.5" handle down, 5.5" wide, 3.25" opening diameter, 3.5" base diameter. This biscuit barrel is very old and must have lost its lid. Beautiful Vintage Hand Painted Porcelain Glass Cracker Tea Biscruit Jar with a Floral Asian Theme. It has chrome bordering the upper opening edge of the jar and a hinged moveable arced handle. The painted is lovely and depicts purplish-pink flowers(Jane Magnolias? on either side with a circular mountainous Asian landscape and dark brownish-purple ribbon through the center. Measures 4" base diameter. 3.5" opening diameter, 6.75" high to opening, and 10" high w/ handle fully lifted. The biscuit jar is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. It is very clean on the inside. There is no lid. The wide brown ribbon band has a"smudge" spot that may have been where a sticker or some other tacky substance was. We cannot really figure out what created it, but it does not detract from the piece at all. It ... morehas been gently washed with mild soap and did not immediately come off. CHARMING 1900's VINTAGE MAJOLICA BISCUIT COOKIE JAR I have a charming biscuit jar. I was told it was Majolica(this is not my area of expertise) The scene is of a man and woman in the kitchen. He’s holding what looks like a glass. The colors are gold. Navy blue and cream. There is a table in the center and a blue bowl on the table. The floor appears to be stone. It is raised from the background(high relief) The back of the jar as well as the top of the lid shows wheat. There is crazing through out and a thin hairline crack on the lid which has been glued together so tightly that I didn’t even notice it when I purchased it. There are no chips. It’s really a great piece. The bottom is stamped Made in Japan. It measures 5.5” tall and approx. 5” across(not counting the 2 knobs)

Circa 1885, was originally part of a complete children's tea service. The scarce octagonal covered jar stands about 4 1/2” tall to the top of the square finial with squared handles on each side. The decoration is transfer printed in a rich sepia brown. It depicts a little girl named Mae or May with her arms around a huge dog(looks like a Newfoundland Lab or Retriever) Little May is wearing a big hat and the dog appears to be smiling. This endearing scene. Framed by an aesthetic background of flowers, birds and lots of geometrical whimsies repeats on each side of the ... morepot, leaving very little white space. The barrel is marked with pattern number 766 and registration number 69456. Registered by Charles Allerton& Sons, a pottery manufacturer in the Staffordshire region of England who was well known for his whimsical children's tea sets made for the American market in the late 19th century. The influence of the Aesthetic movement on the pattern design captures the Victorian love of nature and the exotic. The pattern is known as"Little May with Dog" or"Girl with Dog" The little jar is in very good condition with a glaze flake on the inside of the lid and a spoon ding inside the rim. No other chips cracks or repairs. Age related discoloration(removable by the buyer with a peroxide bath. The workmanship is haphazard. Which is one of the reasons many people collect it.not fine china, and not meant to be; it was made for children and probably considered disposable. The transfers are not aligned neatly, and there is ruddy glaze firing separations and little bumps and dips and transfer wrinkles and a steam hole in the lid(intended for a matching teapot) original to the making. You are viewing Beautiful Hand Painted Canister/Jar. I have attempted to identify the mark on the bottom and have not been able to. This is really such a lovely piece. In the photos the lid is not lined up with the sides of the canister. If it was you would see that the design continues from the lid downward on the canister(just a matter of not paying attention while taking photos) If you look at the designs in photo#5, those designs continue downward. The raised rim inside the canister has a couple of small chips, which does not effect the lids fit(please see photo#3) This item is in excellant condition, with the exception of the small chips on interior rim, The exterior has no chips, cracks, scratches or crazing. Vintage ITALIAN Earthenware DONKEY PLANTER I am pleased to offer for your consideration. This quaint Italian-made ceramic donkey planter. This one is just charming- a donkey with big soulful eyes and a jaunty yellow hat, happily pulls his cart. The inside of the pot has a mottled turquoise glaze and there is a hole for drainage. It is very clean- I don't believe it was ever used as a planter. Measures about 9.5" long ~ 5" tall ~ 5" wide. The colors are fresh and the condition is excellent with the exception of a small chip on the rim of the pot(last photo) Otherwise clean& intact. Plant is for display only- not included. It looks to read. Z564 Blufri Royal Holland, and some other stuff I can't make out. It is in excellent shape except for some minor wear on the inside lip of the piece. It measures 5 1/2 inches tall and 5 inches wide at it's widest point. I've tried to take a number of pictures so that you can judge for yourself it's quality and value. This listing features a wonderful antique lidded jam or jelly jar. Silverplate rim is marked H& H with an Eagle. Each in a separate circle, for Hukin& Heath. Made in England late 1800's. A terrific combination of handpainted pottery, enamel wear, and silver figural lid and handle. Label on base from antique shop that went out of business. Jar itself measures 3-5/8" tall x 3-1/4" across; with handle up it measures 6" tall. Handpainted flowers have raised enamel on the flower petals and gold"shading" highlights all around the jar. Lid is in excellent condition other than perhaps needing a bit of a polish; inside of jar has some age discoloration splotches to the glaze but otherwise intact. Very interesting and unusual piece.
