You are bidding on an 1870's W. Woods of Plymouth. ENGLAND Chemist's Dandruff Jar or"pot lid" as they are known. The lid measures 3 1/8" in diameter and the jar stands almost 2" tall when the lid is in place on top of the base section. The main reference book for pot lids rates this lid as rare. But probably more accurate to rate it as scarce as there still are a number of these lids around and from time time they are recovered from old trash tips. Not in the best condition. But still displays pretty well, it is a scarce lid for any collection!
