English fox hunting scenes ... moreare depicted in a very detailed manner. With lots of movement– as the chase is on! Long, thin, rectangular shape- with a slightly unexpected tall height. The tin has a hinged lid and once contained biscuits from Scribbans Kemp. It dates to circa 1954. There is generalized patina on the tin for an antique look. The vintage wear and patina includes some small areas of wear. Some small scratches and scuffs, some handling marks and soiling, some small dents and dings, etc. Lid is a little more muted than base and has some noticeable soiling. Noticeable denting on front side and one end of base. Some sticky sticker residue on front side. A few more noticeable scratches here and there. Still fairly small. Much of inside is covered with dark patina. There is rust inside- around the interior crevice. And around the upper edges and around the lid, including at the hinge areas. Several reverse dings and some other normal wear on bottom. Hinges seem attached well enough and they move freely until they hit a kink when the lid is almost closed. So there is some wonkiness to the open/close situation. And a little coaxing is required. Again. Condition issues of note: NOTICEABLE DENTING ON FRONT SIDE OF BASE AND ON ONE END. Lid is more muted and has noticeable soiling. A few more noticeable small scratches here and there. Some sticky sticker residue on front side. Some rust inside– at crevice. Upper edges, around inside lid edge, at hinge area, etc. Some wonkiness to the hinges. Open/close requires some coaxing. Approximate size of tin is about 11.25” by 3.5” by about 4” tall. Up for auction is this Antique Victorian Cobalt Blue Biscuit/Cracker jar with beautiful enameled floral decorations. Gold band and gold leaves around the entire circumference of the jar. It measures 10 1/2" tall to the top of the handle, 8 1/2" tall to the top of the finial and 5 1/2" wide. It is in excellent condition with no chips, flakes, bites, nicks or cracks. The enameling is in great shape with very little loss to the gold band. The silver plate is in excellent condition. There are 2 small indentations in the top inside portion of the silver plated collar.

Ontario– Canada, specifically Kitchener and Ingersoll, after immigrating to Canada from Pennsylvania in the 1760’s. Later relatives were avid antique enthusiasts and many collectables& antiques have been carefully stored and passed down. And here we are offering from this collection. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This gorgeous antique jar dates around the late 1800's to early 1900's and is hand painted with grames and vines in beautiful shades- the photos do not do it justice! It has a ceramic jar bottom with a shiny glaze over the hand painting. And a silver or silverplated rim, lid and handle. Pretty wave shaped handle. The makers marks are partially showing and it is believed to be made in England(please see picture ... morefor markings) although the family collected a lot of German hand painted porcelain as well, we simply do not know. It has a ruffled rim. The jar is in very good condition with the exception of a chip on the underside of the lid and on the rim of the interior of the jar. There exists some crazing as typical of a piece such as this and some minor fading of the gilt trim. There are no backstamps so I do not know the origin. On the bottom of the jar there are only some numbers. Measurements are 5 1/2" tall and 5 1/4" across the top of the ruffled edge rim. It features ornate silverplated mounts on a porcelain body with a decal outline to guide the hand painting. The roses are lucious& really stand out on the green ground. With the handle up it's about 11-3/4" high. Just the jar. To the top of the finial it's almost 8" high, about 5" in diameter. The handle will stand up alone if you squeeze on the pivot pins, but it may be a little bent. The top of the handle filigree section bends back a bit, but that may be for grip. There are a few places where the painting has come off on the rose section, but I think it's where the raised white enamel was. A couple teenie spots on the green too, but this is well over 100 years old. I don't feel it takes away from the beauty of the piece. Other than that there are no chips or cracks nor any damage I can detect. Be assured I will pack this with great care& insure it for it's full value. A simply fabulous piece of Victoriana.

Lovely Antique Victorian Porcelain Biscuit Jar Hand Decorated Enamel Flowers
This auction is for a Lovely Antique Victorian Porcelain Biscuit Jar hand decorated in a soft pastel pink and blue with enamel painted flowers in gold and white. I am not certain if it is correct to describe this as a Biscuit Jar as it is on the smaller side for a such a thing. Perhaps it was originally designed to store something else. Either way. It is a Striking piece of antique porcelain. The piece stands about 6 1/2 inches tall. Including the lid handle, and is about 5 inches at its widest point. By the form and the feel. I believe it dates to the mid to late 1800s and likely was made in England or France. It has an ineligible handmade line mark in gold on the inside of the lid and inside of the jar. The art work is well done throughout. When the lid is lined up properly. So too are the stems and vines of the flowers. Old Cracker Biscuit Jar Victorian Rose Bird Daisy Cherry Victorian Pottery c1860
This is an absolutely wonderful transferware cracker/ biscuit jar with vibrant colors and an incised silver lid and handle. The body of this jar is ivory in color. Transfers of a bird. Flowers and cherries decorate the sides. The jar has an attached rim that anchors the handle. This rim is hallmarked Rogers Smith& Co. U.S.A. with two numbers- stamped 51 and etched 22589. the jar has 3 bands of gold- at the bottom of the metal rim. On the decorative pottery rim 1/2" below the metal rim, and a band at the bottom of the jar. I don't know who made this piece. Only that Rogers, Smith& Co was in business and used this mark from 1857- 1866. More than this I do not know. The jar stands 5 3/4" tall to the top of the rim. 7 1/2" to the top of the incised lid, 9" to the top of the upright handle. The metal lid is incised ... morewith patterns of flowers and leaves. The lid is 4" wide. The jar is about 6" at the widest point. Condition is vintage mint. Vintage mint means as perfect as possible with prior use. No chips. Cracks or any defects except for the very most minor wear to wearable spots, like the bottoms of pieces. Please make sure to enlarge the photos. As they are an important part of the description of the item. I try very hard to note any and all defects, but being human, I may miss something. We ship the day after cleared payment is received. White spots are reflected light unless noted as defects. If an item is leaning in the photo. And it is not stated it leans, it is my fault and not the item’s condition! MEASURES APPROX 5 1/2 INCHES TALL TO TOP OF RIM. BASE DIAMETER APPROX. 4 1/4 INCHES. LID DIAMETER APPROX. 3 3/8 INCHES. YOU ARE BIDDING ON A VINTAGE Wiltshaw& Robinson Biscuit Barrel from 1890's Victorian Garden Poppies HAS MARK ON THE BOTTOM AS SEEN IN PICTURE Appraisal Info The Rd. No 157102(under the word"POPPY" which is the pattern name) shows that this particular pattern. A bouquet of Victorian garden poppies and other flowers, was registered in 1890. So your piece dates to that year or just after depending how long the company kept the design in production. In this case they kept a blue& white version of this pattern going long after the company became Carlton Ware. But your polychrome version was the earliest and probably no newer than 1895. The floral design is a printed transfer that has been added to by hand to'heighten' the colors.
