It is decorated with friezes of laurel wreaths. Tiny berries separated by geometrical forms. The original Old Silver finish plating is in very good condition to its age with some rubbing as pictured. It is fully hallmarked WMF, I/O and OX. It measures 12 ¼ high, 5 ½ across to the metal mount with the handle and 5 3/8 across to the widest point of the crystal. It has a capacity of 2 1/2 pints. The wonderful crystal is in excellent condition, no chips no cracks whatsoever, it is finely cut and etched with matching decoration. Ceramic, under-glaze transferred toothpaste container featuring an art nouveau motif on a Greek ke y design platform(see pic.3) This lid dates to ca.1900.right in the middle of the art nouveau period which is considered to be between 1890-1914 and was characterized by. Among others, this type of flowing emblem. Height measures 5-1/4" to top of lid finial. Pink. Floral transfers on both sides of jar and lid. Color is green fading to an almost antique white. Edge of lid and jar rim trimmed in gold gilt. Vintage English Biscuit Jar Hand Painted Art Nouveau Water Lillies MONET style!
This is a very lovely old English cookie jar or Biscuit jar. The design is a hand painted water lily design. Reminiscent of Monet's'Water Lilies' painting. The porcelain is in good condition. There is no crazing, cracking or foxing. The inside is free of staining. There is some slight chipping to the hand painted surface due to age.

The item you are bidding on is for a great Art Nouveau English Biscuit Jar/ Barrel/ Cracker Jar. The maker is Crown Devon S.F. Co. Stoke on Trent which is on the bottom of the jar. Approx. dating is 1910 from what I found. The Top and rim is EPSN which is electric plate over nickel silver which is stamp into the rim and on the top is N S of what I see. The jar shows great color and was done very well. As with an item of this age the photo's show the crackel but the jar looks great. The dimensions are 6"dia. x 7" with the handle approx. Offered is a beautiful antique yellow. Pink and green Austrian majolica humidor tobacco jar decorated in the Art Nouveau style made in the 1800's. This lovely tobacco jar features a lid with a pipe on it. Flip the lid over and there is the opening where you are suppose to put a sponge. Wet the sponge. Wring it out, slip it in and it will keep your tobacco humid! The body of the humidor features Art Nouveau form and lily pads and flowers. You can find a similar humidor on page 62 in the book" Marvelous Majolica" The bottom is well marked with the form number impressed into the clay. 8765. I think this could have been made in 1865. Condition is excellent for its age! I see no chips or cracks! It measures 4.5 inches long by 3.25 inches wide and stands 4 inches tall. Please email with any questions.
