English fox hunting scenes ... moreare depicted in a very detailed manner. With lots of movement– as the chase is on! Long, thin, rectangular shape- with a slightly unexpected tall height. The tin has a hinged lid and once contained biscuits from Scribbans Kemp. It dates to circa 1954. There is generalized patina on the tin for an antique look. The vintage wear and patina includes some small areas of wear. Some small scratches and scuffs, some handling marks and soiling, some small dents and dings, etc. Lid is a little more muted than base and has some noticeable soiling. Noticeable denting on front side and one end of base. Some sticky sticker residue on front side. A few more noticeable scratches here and there. Still fairly small. Much of inside is covered with dark patina. There is rust inside- around the interior crevice. And around the upper edges and around the lid, including at the hinge areas. Several reverse dings and some other normal wear on bottom. Hinges seem attached well enough and they move freely until they hit a kink when the lid is almost closed. So there is some wonkiness to the open/close situation. And a little coaxing is required. Again. Condition issues of note: NOTICEABLE DENTING ON FRONT SIDE OF BASE AND ON ONE END. Lid is more muted and has noticeable soiling. A few more noticeable small scratches here and there. Some sticky sticker residue on front side. Some rust inside– at crevice. Upper edges, around inside lid edge, at hinge area, etc. Some wonkiness to the hinges. Open/close requires some coaxing. Approximate size of tin is about 11.25” by 3.5” by about 4” tall. ANTIQUE LATE 19th C.ENGLISH LG.PORCELAIN BISCUIT JAR-"GAUDY WELSH" STYLE COLORS
This large biscuit jar is in lovely condition. With no damage or loss of design. I have not seen one with this design. It has a slight"Gaudy Welsh" look to it, but with that Victorian update! It measures 9" 22.8 cm) in height including the raised handle, 7 1/4" 18.4 cm) in height with the handle lowered and is 5 1/2" 14 cm) in diameter at the widest point. It has four alternating green diamond panels with a peach colored leaf and gold sprigging over the green color. There are 4 half sunflowers at the bottom and top of each green panel. There are four alternating angled panels of"Gaudy Welsh" style orange and blue flowers, with gold trim. The jar is not marked except with the pattern number#160. All the colors are hand-painted over the glaze and are in lovely condition with no areas of worn off paint. The ... moresilver top, rim and handle are not marked except inside the lid, where there is a#6 and beneath that S 7474. I assume it is EPNS(electroplated nickel silver) as most of these of this era were. The handle has the two sections that split at the top to hold an oval plate. The lid is incised with very detailed and well done ferns. There is a $1.00 charge for a new box within a larger new box and ample packing material to ensure safe delivery. The silver color is very bright and nice,but sometimes the reflections show other colors. International Buyers Please Note: Import duties. This wonderful vintage collectable was recently rescued from an Estate Auction. DESCRIPTION- 498: Looking for a new forever home is this rescued 4 CUP JAPANESE TEA POT and COVERED DOUBLE HANDLED SUGAR BOWL or JAR. They feature a design of pretty GEISHA GIRLS in their kimono's and carrying umbrellas to keep their skin pristine. In the background is a HAND PAINTED pagoda. Landscape scene of hills, birds, water. Built in diffuser holes on inside of spout opening in pot keeps tea leaves and bags inside pot where they belong. Just lovely in shades of pink, brown, black, grey, gold, some green and burnt orange on a white background. No major damage at all, but normal vintage issues including tiny"pepper" spots in glaze, a few original areas where top shiny glaze has missed covering the bisque, little unfinished nibs, some tiny bumps ... moreand pin holes& pits in both pieces. The hand painting is detailed and facinating to think someone hand painted all that. Gold gilting accents on girls robes, tiny raised white moraige dots on pagoda roof. Some gold rub and loss to the gold gilting on handle and flower shaped handle on top of tea pot and sugar bowl lids. Still managed to stay pretty darn nice all these years, but there is no matching creamer to go with this pair. How fun, try to find a matching creamer on ebay and complete your pair! BACK STAMP: Both pieces are hand signed by the artist on the bottom. I researched this maker's mark and cannot locate anything like it. Sources tell me this is the artists signature and it is from the late 40's early 1950's. Imported from Japan. CHARMING 1900's VINTAGE MAJOLICA BISCUIT COOKIE JAR I have a charming biscuit jar. I was told it was Majolica(this is not my area of expertise) The scene is of a man and woman in the kitchen. He’s holding what looks like a glass. The colors are gold. Navy blue and cream. There is a table in the center and a blue bowl on the table. The floor appears to be stone. It is raised from the background(high relief) The back of the jar as well as the top of the lid shows wheat. There is crazing through out and a thin hairline crack on the lid which has been glued together so tightly that I didn’t even notice it when I purchased it. There are no chips. It’s really a great piece. The bottom is stamped Made in Japan. It measures 5.5” tall and approx. 5” across(not counting the 2 knobs)

Circa 1885, was originally part of a complete children's tea service. The scarce octagonal covered jar stands about 4 1/2” tall to the top of the square finial with squared handles on each side. The decoration is transfer printed in a rich sepia brown. It depicts a little girl named Mae or May with her arms around a huge dog(looks like a Newfoundland Lab or Retriever) Little May is wearing a big hat and the dog appears to be smiling. This endearing scene. Framed by an aesthetic background of flowers, birds and lots of geometrical whimsies repeats on each side of the ... morepot, leaving very little white space. The barrel is marked with pattern number 766 and registration number 69456. Registered by Charles Allerton& Sons, a pottery manufacturer in the Staffordshire region of England who was well known for his whimsical children's tea sets made for the American market in the late 19th century. The influence of the Aesthetic movement on the pattern design captures the Victorian love of nature and the exotic. The pattern is known as"Little May with Dog" or"Girl with Dog" The little jar is in very good condition with a glaze flake on the inside of the lid and a spoon ding inside the rim. No other chips cracks or repairs. Age related discoloration(removable by the buyer with a peroxide bath. The workmanship is haphazard. Which is one of the reasons many people collect it.not fine china, and not meant to be; it was made for children and probably considered disposable. The transfers are not aligned neatly, and there is ruddy glaze firing separations and little bumps and dips and transfer wrinkles and a steam hole in the lid(intended for a matching teapot) original to the making. Circa 1850. Originally part of a complete miniature children's historical Staffordshire tea set, the little rococo shaped sugar box stands 4” tall and round on a raised pedestal base, with a flower finial and molded handles. and The set has a floral border trim(along the collar as well as the rims) finished with pearlware glaze. The set is transfer printed in a rich and earthy green. It is decorated in the scarce EVA pattern. Depicting a young girl sitting with her arm around a lion or huge dog, possibly a Newfoundland breed. The"Eva" transferware ... morepattern was presumably made for the American market shortly after the anti-slavery Harriet Beecher Stowe's book'UNCLE TOM'S CABIN' was published in 1852. The young girl in the image is said to be Evangeline St Clare. The virtuous character'Eva' the daughter of Augustine St. Clare. Who Tom rescued from drowning. She in turn, helped shape the rest of his life. In later life, he spent much of his time with the angelic Eva, who personifies the virtues of selfless love and forgiveness. The original source print for the Eva illustration can be traced to a colored lithograph print from the same period in original period framing by a Cincinnati frame shop. We are attaching a photo of the source print for reference purposes only. The sugar is unmarked. Other pieces in this pattern are found marked with the pattern name EVA and the initials BH& Co. There is a brownish spot on the outside and some on the inside which I show in my last pictures. This is a beautiful antique biscuit jar with lid. Marked Elite Limoges France(Bawo& Dotter) dating accordingly to the mark ca. 1896-1900. The jar is 5" high without lid. 6 3/4" with lid. And 7" wide from handle to handle. The piece is decorated with two different bouquets of pink and red flowers on peach background and it seems to be hand painted. The graceful handles are trimmed with gold. The body of the jar has an unusual swirled shape. The jar is in excellent condition with no cracks. Chips nor repairs. The only fault I see is a white spot under the rim where the color is missing(perhaps from the factory) A rare Limoges piece for your collection. Please see my other items. It is in excellent condition- painting is vibrant and there are no chips. Cracks or repairs. Not sure what kind of flowers are on jar- if anyone knows, I'd appreciate hearing from you. There is no makers marks on the jar, which I believe is an indication of its age. In 1910 a law required makers marks on imports. So jar should date to before 1910. It is marked on the bottom with the blue Nippon Mark. The china is a snow white and shows off the beautiful marron bands or color accented by the heavy gold enamel. Corn in Burslem. England decorated with embossed lily of the valley flowers. The color is an oyster white. It stands about 7 ½” tall to the top of in finial and is about 5 ½” in diameter at its widest point. Markings: W& E Corn Burslem Staffordshire England- Imperial Ironstone China. Brown Aesthetic Transferware Toy Biscuit Jar WATER HEN Charles Allerton& Sons Staffordshire. England c.1880 This transfer printed biscuit jar or sugar pot circa 1880 was originally part of an early child's or doll house play tea set. The color is sepia or chocolate brown against a creamy white earthenware. The rare tear drop or pear shaped form of the box has fancy applied handles and finial. The pot features a water hen or Guinea Hen(the English name for the American Coot) feeding in a lily pond with cat tails and reeds. The background is an aesthetic composition of lush flowers. Swallows, and an inset of a castle. There is a zig zag patterned trim along the rim. The decoration reapeats on each side of the pot leaving little white space. This pattern is pictured and discussed in Lorraine Punchard's Playtime Porcelain and Pottery ... moreas well as Petra Williams' Romantic Staffordshire. The pot is marked with pattern name is WATER HEN registered with number 754 by Charles Allerton and Sons. A pottery manufacturer in the Staffordshire region of England who was well known for his whimsical children's tea sets. The pot is in fairly good overall condition. Mild patina, with a chip on edge(where the lid sits) spoon dings inside the rim and no other chips cracks or repairs. The lid has a steamhole. The workmanship is haphazard, which is one of the reasons many people collect it.not fine china, and not meant to be; it was made for children and probably considered disposable. The transfers are not aligned neatly, there is runny glaze and little bumps and dips and transfer wrinkles and glazed over edge frits original to the making. The naïve and hasty style adds to the folksy charm. Overall. A nice example of a rare form. The biscuit jar or sugar pot is in especially fine condition considering is 125 years old. Bristol English Ware Biscuit Barrel/ Biscuit Jar Estate Find! This auction is for a Beautiful English Biscuit Barrel or Jar with pink and white flowers and decoration on a light sand/beige ground. I believe this Biscuit Jar is from the early turn of the century 1900s. Possibly a little older. I have seen one other of these on Ebay. It was traced back before 1920. It was marked Bristol English Ware. This one is also marked"Bristol English Ware" but is very difficult to read. The lid is marked"N.S. Nickel Silver. The barrel is marked at the bottom Measurements: 9" tall. Base is 6" in diameter. The condition of this jewel is in Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The transfer shows great detail and depth, it is in very good condition, cover is missing, there are no chips, cracks or repairs. It measure 7" inches from handle to handle and 5" inches high. Vintage 1930 Ceramic Biscuit Cookie Jar JAPAN Rattan Handle
This is part of a lot of antiques purchased from an auctionat the historic Rattle& Snap Plantation in Mt. Pleasant. Tennessee. Please see my other listings. Vintage 1930's Ceramic Biscuit Jar/ Cookie Jar with Rattan Handle Black& Gold in color Marked: Made in Japan Measures approximately 6 inches high(not including handle) 5 1/4 inches in diameter. There is a hairline crack from top about 2 inches(see last 2 photos) There is also some crazing and color fade. Some of the binding on the rattan handle has worn off. This all adds to the vintage character.

ANTIQUE FOLEY ENGLAND BISCUIT BARREL GOLD BLUE WILLOW TRANSFERWARE COOKIE JAR. This is a very nice Foley Marked English jar in a very dark blue willow and gold trims. It is 9 inches tall with handle up and 6 inches wide. Good shape no chips no cracks slight ware to the gold and normal ware to the silver plate top. Great item very hard to find.
