It measures 7 inches height with the lid and 4" inches in diameter at the base. It is entirely made of stoneware with a green and yellow glaze outside and inside of the jar. Condition is excellent + if you consider the age and the use, you can notice two very small chips, one at the outside top border and the second is a very tiny chip on the lid that was made during the production but otherwise it stands-out beautifully and would definitively be a welcome addition in any vintage stoneware memorabilia collection. A fine 19thC. Yellow Ware Canning Jar; glazed. Barrel-Form with a coggled inner wax ring detail, ca.1875. These Rockingham-decorated Preserve Jars are quite rare. There are a few shallow chips on the rim and base, as shown; otherwise excellent. No hairlines, cracks or repaired damage. Wonderful olive jar. In old redware. I love the way the glaze is cut back to the redware-to spell olives. Has a great green drip glaze, with a little black irridescence thrown in. Probably had a cork top, shouldn't be hard to find one to fit. It just has that French/Italian country look to it. These jar came out of an antique dealers estate from San Francisco. The antique dealer owned a store that specialized in Chinese porcelain. This appears to be Earthenware possibly 19th century. But the numbering on the bottom is English so I Doubt this piece Chinese.

Excellent fine antique salt glazed stoneware pottery majolica tobacco jar probably German Rheinish and dating from the 18th century. The jar is tall with a cylindrical shape and has a deep molded raised majolica Greek design repeated around the body of the jar. It has a slightly domed screw down pewter lid and mount with a separate internal metal seal. I think the artwork is the Greek goddess Hebe who served nectar and ambrosia to the gods. The eagle represents Zeus. The jar is finished in a tigerware brown salt glaze and has an incised makers mark of CC. Measures around 8 1/4" tall.

Twentieth Century Sumida Gawa Jar High Gloss Glaze Decorative Excellent Faces
This auction is for a beautiful jar with a Sumida Gawa decoration. The faces and figures are superbly done. Condition is excellent with no chips. Cracks or repairs that we have been able to detect. In some of the pictures white areas appear to show loss of surface but this is not the case. It is reflected light from the high gloss on the decorative trim. WE DO NOT know the age. It does not seem to be antique but we are not able to determine that. It measures about 9.5 inches tall overall. The base is roughly 7 inches high and 7 inches wide. I have for you this evening a very beautiful example of pottery made at the kilns of SF& Co S. Fielding of stoke on Trent England and is from a line called Crown Devon. This piece is made from a nice grade of semi porcelain and has been cast into a rigged melon style mold design. This piece has been decorated with purple pansies I believe. The cover is tarnished but was once silver toned and can be brought back with a bit of TLC. This piece will make a lovely addition to your collection as well as displaying nicely no matter the setting. Item dimensions and dating: All measurements are approximate. This piece measure 10.5" tall with the cover in place. This piece dates from the early 20th century by the marks and design elements. Item condition report: This piece is in nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks. There is fine ... moreline crazing throughout and the top is badly tarnished as well as having tape residue on it so will need to be cleaned up. There are minor small spots were the glaze and decoration have nicked off from use but nothing to distracting. The colors are still fresh and vibrant so this piece shows beautifully. This type of pottery is known as Cizhou ware. After an area in Hebei Province in northern China where it was made. Offering this great vintage yellowware pottery jar with lid. It is blended ox blood red and green glazes. The jar measures approximately 11" tall with lid in place by approx. 8" across. There are marks on the bottom which I could not make out but appear to be hand painted on. I don't know the age or origin of this. It could be Chinese, Japanese or European? The interior of the lid has some impressions in the clay as pictured which are from the maker and not cracks. It is in excellent condition with only a few glaze pops and a very shallow scuff in the glaze on one side as pictured in the last photo. California buyers must add 7.5% sales tax.

Large Olive Green Pottery Storage Jar. Stands 11-1/8" tall and is 9" wide at the belly. No Cracks detected. No major chips. Nubs of clay here and there. Impression from pre-kiln here and there. Looks to be in the condition it was when fired but I'll leave the condition opinions up to the buyer, there are some spots of bare stoneware that look like kiln damages or nubs of clay knocked off. As always, you should look at the photos closely to form your own opinion on condition. This auction features a fantastic vintage or antique manganese and green glaze pottery stoneware jar. The glaze on this jar is reminiscent of 1820s New England style pottery. What is unique about this handmade stoneware jar is that it is impressed stamped on the bottom with a Fleur De Lis mark and also what I believe to be is a chicken. Bottom Marked MINNESOTA STONEWARE RED WING 1/2 Gal. Preserve Jar w/ Brown Glaze
For your consideration is a 1/2 half gallon preserve jar made by Minnesota Stoneware Co. of Red Wing. Minnesota. This company was founded in 1883. It always had a close working relationship with Red Wing Stoneware. In 1906 Red Wing Stoneware and Minnesota Stoneware officially merged to form Red Wing Union Stoneware. This stoneware preserve jar is 6 3/4" tall and the bottom is 6" in diameter. There are 0 cracks and 0 chips, however there are several glaze skips. Some of the embossed lettering was partially flattened when the glaze was wiped off the bottom during manufacturing. Please carefully examine the pictures; as the pictures are part of the description.

FRENCH MUSTARD JAR Moutarde Gray Glaze Red Cork Signed Lagney CERAMICS 1900-1940
Up for sale is a decorative squat shaped French mustard(spelled Moutarde) jar. Jug, crock with the original unopened cork still sealed with red wax. The glaze is a light gray and the signature"LAB Lagny" is impressed into the lower edge of the crock. Most of an original label and part of another original label is still on the crock. The price of 299 is stamped on the red wax seal. This crock is in very nice condition and makes a great display piece for a country kitchen or shelf. Size: 4 3/4" x 4" Condition: good. 1 Gal. Stoneware Canning Jar Hand Turned Salt Glaze Wax Sealer with 3 1/4" Lid
For your consideration is a hand turned wax sealer with a one gallon capacity. It uses a lid that measures 3 1/4" It is salt glazed. A tin lid was set into the groove and molten wax was poured over it; as the wax cooled it hardened. The hard wax formed a seal and that is how the name wax sealer came to be and they were the primary canning jar before glass became popular. The height is 8 7/8" and the bottom is 7 1/4" in diameter. The rim is rough inside and out. On one side is a hairline that is 3 1/4" long that extends onto the bottom for two inches. Please carefully examine the pictures. Jar measures about 7 1/2" tall and about 4 1/2" maximum diameter. It is in excellent condition. There is a glazed-over shallow flake to top outside edge. Done in the making. There are a few minor flakes to sharp bottom edge(see photos) I don't see any other chips or cracks. There are many small pits in the glaze, most notably around top edge and on the shoulder. The indent just above the foot has a thin circumferential line of unglazed pottery visible, ... moredone in the making. There are some pits inside bottom as well as a small bit of unglazed adherent pottery, also in the making. There may be other minor irregularities in the making. Early 20th C. Signed Porcelain Luster Glaze Covered Humidor, Jar, Canister
An extraordinary caramel colored porcelain covered jar meant as a humidor or cigarette holder. It is hand painted over the luster glaze and is signed and dated 1926 by its artist on the bottom. The base color is rich and deep and provides the background to three jet black enamel color ships sailing under white porcelain moons. The interior of the lid and jar has a clear glaze allowing the reveal of white porcelain. The signature looks to be EM Christie and the date is as shown. Note the other partial marks on the bottom. Not aware of others like this one. It’s a vintage American Art Deco nautical theme meant for an early 20th century den or study. It stands 51/2 inches to the top of the finial.
