Antique Chinese Cabbage shaped Biscuit Jar w/wicker handle - Made in Japan
A very pleasing biscuit jar with its original wicker handle. It is in the shape of a chinese cabbage- the details are sharp and crisp. The coloring is natural and not garish and there is just the hint of a lustre to the glaze. ANTIQUE LATE 19th C.ENGLISH LG.PORCELAIN BISCUIT JAR-"GAUDY WELSH" STYLE COLORS
This large biscuit jar is in lovely condition. With no damage or loss of design. I have not seen one with this design. It has a slight"Gaudy Welsh" look to it, but with that Victorian update! It measures 9" 22.8 cm) in height including the raised handle, 7 1/4" 18.4 cm) in height with the handle lowered and is 5 1/2" 14 cm) in diameter at the widest point. It has four alternating green diamond panels with a peach colored leaf and gold sprigging over the green color. There are 4 half sunflowers at the bottom and top of each green panel. There are four alternating angled panels of"Gaudy Welsh" style orange and blue flowers, with gold trim. The jar is not marked except with the pattern number#160. All the colors are hand-painted over the glaze and are in lovely condition with no areas of worn off paint. The ... moresilver top, rim and handle are not marked except inside the lid, where there is a#6 and beneath that S 7474. I assume it is EPNS(electroplated nickel silver) as most of these of this era were. The handle has the two sections that split at the top to hold an oval plate. The lid is incised with very detailed and well done ferns. There is a $1.00 charge for a new box within a larger new box and ample packing material to ensure safe delivery. The silver color is very bright and nice,but sometimes the reflections show other colors. International Buyers Please Note: Import duties. DETAILS* This piece looks to be very old. The crazing is due to age and so fine that you really can't notice it and it does not detract from the piece. There is a brownish spot on the outside and some on the inside which I show in my last pictures. ANTIQUE LIMOGES ELITE BISCUIT JAR
This is a beautiful antique biscuit jar with lid. Marked Elite Limoges France(Bawo& Dotter) dating accordingly to the mark ca. 1896-1900. The jar is 5" high without lid. 6 3/4" with lid. And 7" wide from handle to handle. The piece is decorated with two different bouquets of pink and red flowers on peach background and it seems to be hand painted. The graceful handles are trimmed with gold. The body of the jar has an unusual swirled shape. The jar is in excellent condition with no cracks. Chips nor repairs. The only fault I see is a white spot under the rim where the color is missing(perhaps from the factory) A rare Limoges piece for your collection. Please see my other items. There is no makers marks on the jar, which I believe is an indication of its age. In 1910 a law required makers marks on imports. So jar should date to before 1910. Up for sale we have an extra fancy Gilded Nippon Covered Biscuit Jar. Or also called a Cracker Barrel. This porcelain piece is from the late 19th century and has lots of Victorian fanciful detail. It is marked on the bottom with the blue Nippon Mark. The china is a snow white and shows off the beautiful marron bands or color accented by the heavy gold enamel. The handles have much molded detail and are also accented with heavy gold. The Barrel measures 9" wide at the handles by 6" tall to the top of the elaborate finial handle. I believe this Biscuit Jar is from the early turn of the century 1900s. Possibly a little older. I have seen one other of these on Ebay. It was traced back before 1920. It was marked Bristol English Ware. This one is also marked"Bristol English Ware" but is very difficult to read. The lid is marked"N.S. Nickel Silver. The barrel is marked at the bottom Measurements: 9" tall. Base is 6" in diameter. The condition of this jewel is in Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is also a number etched in the bottom: 1681(see picture)The jar is yellow in color with hand painted pink and white flowers. The ceramic is beautifully preserved. The rim has the numbers- D8A8436. The lid has EPNS(Electro Plated Nickel Silver) in it. This antique Biscuit/Cracker Jar is beautifully crafted and shows little wear. There are no breaks. Antique Coffee Pot with Matching Lidded Biscuit Jar. The base mark dates this to the 1800s. As from 1842 to 1883, the British Patent Office issued registration numbers inside of a diamond so that the public could be assured of quality and a true British design. Unfortunately, the mark is now mostly unreadable, and we cannot ascertain the date of registration. The top mark is definitely the Roman Numeral IV, and therefore that assured the customer that this material is Clay Ware. The Coffee Pot Measures approximately 8-1/2" tall including its lid. We have been on a buying trip and we are listing new items as quickly as we can. We will be listing them daily as time permits. Th ese pieces are nice. You won't be disappointed. We are always happy to co mbine items. When possible, so buyers can save on the shipping costs. This is a cracker jar. Or biscuit barrel. Basically. It's what a cookie jar was before we had supersized meals. Don't think chocolate chip cook ies bigger than a dinner plate; think animal crackers. Usually we tell you who made an item(Nippon. Limoges, Austria, RS Prussia) But, this time, we just can't tell you exactly who made it. The painting looks like Nippon, and we can find tons of items painted like this in our Nippon books. Likewise, Limoges& Austrian items can be found with this shape, the"plume-looking" blown-out bottom and area around ... morethe lid. We have seen cups and chocolate pots with this design. Since Japanese potters of the Nippon era were trained in the European style and imitated the work of Limoges, RS Prussia/Austria and German pieces, this is just a stab in the dark for us.but we think lots of you collectors will know! The crac ker jar is white. And as mentioned above. The lower area of the jar has a blown out plume or acanthus leaf design. This design is repeated around the inner part of the lid. The handle on the lid, the rim areas of both the lid and jar have an irregular cobalt area. There are handpainted pink and purple roses with green foliage painted near the cobalt areas. The"plume-like" areas have smaller pink and purple flowers. There is gold! Oh yes, if you are one of our regular buyers, you know we love gold! Gold flourishes are painted over the cobalt areas. Gold outlines the leaves/plumes and outlines the areas where the blownout part of the mold begins. There are also gold flourishes in the white area of the jar. This thing is gorgeous! This is a unique antique tobacco or biscuit jar.when you move the handle it opens& closes lid up& down. Lovely hand painted floral design with raised detailing on top and bottom. This is in good condition but does have quite a bit of crazing which would be expected due to age. No chips or cracks. Hinged lid works well with no problems. Inside of metal lid is marked"NAROBUS& EPNS" On the bottom it is marked"RD NO 173045" It measures 6" to top of lid and another 4 3/4" to top of handle. 4" in diameter on the bottom& 5" in diameter across the top. A Wonderful Antique Porcelain Biscuit Jar& Plate By Brownfield& Son This wonderful English Biscuit Jar& Plate is in very good antique condition with only one small nick on the underside of one corner of the plate. I must mention that I think the nob. On the top of the lid, is possibly an old replacement but I'm not positive. The Biscuit Jar& Plate is English in origin. Each piece has its RD number and is signed on the bottom of the jar and plate: Brownfield& Son. The Jar measures about 7" high. From the foot to the top of the lid. Vintage Antique Biscuit Jar Wood Exterior Porcelain Insert Excellent Condition
Vintage biscuit jar with wood exterior and a porcelain insert in near MINT condition. The wood has a warm dark brown finish with just a few minor scuffs. The lid. Handle and chrome lettering"Biscuits" are in near mint condition. The jar measures 10.5" high with handle fully extended, 6" tall from bottom to chrome lip and 6" in diameter at its widest point. This is a gorgeous addition to someone's collection or to be used in serving biscuits with your tea!

Estate Sale find- Lovely old china biscuit/cookie jar with lid. Exquisite& elegant. Soft shades of lavender wash on white background. Hand painted yellow Cosmos? flowers, gold accent trim at tip of lid's finial. This jar is so pretty; pictures don't do it justice. Measures: 5" diameter at jar's top opening. 5.5" tall The jar has an intricate and lovely shape. As does the lid. There is a raised pattern on the jar itself as well. Which adds even more detail. Very good antique/vintage condition: no chips. No cracks. There is a hairline on the jar, the height of the jar. But it doesn't detract from the beauty of this old piece at all. Antique England Queen Anne Biscuit cookie Jar Wicker handle
This Lovely piece looks to be Very Old. It has impressed markings on bottom but I cannot make it out. Unfortunately. It is in overall good condition, but does have gold wear as shown and crazing and one hairline crack inside rim of jar. It has an amazing decoration of an English(London? town/ street with a horse drawn carriage and finely dressed ladies and gentlemen and the words"Queen Anne" Aprox. 5" tall. Returns accepted only if item is not as described.

Antique 1880's Staffordshire English Double Biscuit Jar ~~~~ Antique 1880's Staffordshire English Double Biscuit Jar Marked Taylor& Tunnicliffe. Company, circa 1875. Floral basket weave design with pink wild roses. Gold trim, tilting handles, double cracker or biscuit jar. Condition: Cracker jar is in very nice condition with no chips. Cracks or restoration. There are a few lines of light crazing on base. Interior is clean, light wear to gold on rope trim at top edge of jars; as shown. Dimensions: 9 3/4" tall including handle.
