It is oval in shape. 3 3/4" tall x 2 3/4" wide x 1 3/4" ... morethick. Both jar and lid are in very good condition. I can feel a slight roughness on the top edge of the jar but cannot see it. There are no chips or other blemishes on the jar and the lid is free from dings or dents. The gold wash is almost entirely intact. Design is a lovely hammered finish with a smooth cartouche containing an exquisite monogram(perhaps an O and J) Hallmarks are crisp. The marks are for British sterling: the lion passant. A letter p in a shield notched on the bottom(1910) and the leopard head with no crown(London) There is a maker's mark- PW- but I cannot find that maker in my references. Any odd shapes or colors are due to a scanner that does not play nicely.

Antique Moriage Embossed Gold-Leafed Japanese Ginger Jar w-lid 1880-1920 Satsuma
You are looking at ONE Antique Japanese Embossed Gold-Leafed Footed Ginger Jar with Handles& Lid. This Beautiful Jar is more than 100 years old. It has been displayed by members of my family for three generations. It is from the 1800s and is in the Moriage style with raised lines& dots for decoration. It is most likely from the Satsuma Region. Potter's Mark can be seen inside lid and on top rim of jar. Marks are somewhat worn and tails of characters may be worn off. The Lid has Several Cracks which have been repaired and a chip on the inside rim. Which can be seen in the photos. While the repairs are tight, the glue, unfortunately has changed color making the cracks visible. Perhaps some professional treatment can repair the discoloring of the glue. The jar itself appears to be in good condition. There may be a repair on one of ... morethe handles but I cannot be sure. The embossing and find line gold leafing are exquisitely done. The floral enamel painting is beautiful. The inside of the jar is clean and unstained. The jar has three curved feet, also gold leafed. The jar has two ornate gold leafed handles and a Three-Way Gold-Leafed Handle on the Lid. Some of the gold-leafing on the handles and feet are a little worn but considering the age, this is insignificant. The jar can be displayed with the lid turned with the flowers forward so that the crack does not show if it is at eye level. Cracks in lid are only obvious if you are looking down on the lid. Jar is 8" tall to rim and 8" across handle tip to handle tip. It is 10" tall with the lid on. A nice display piece. The jar has been in my family for three generations. It is time for it to find a new collector. If you display this piece at eye level or above, you cannot see the repaired crack on the lid. It will make a beautiful addition to your display shelf. It is in excellent condition- painting is vibrant and there are no chips. Cracks or repairs. Not sure what kind of flowers are on jar- if anyone knows, I'd appreciate hearing from you. There is no makers marks on the jar, which I believe is an indication of its age. In 1910 a law required makers marks on imports. So jar should date to before 1910. It looks like the lid contains initials of artist. Either"aag" or"aay"

For your consideration is a stoneware one quart canning jar made by Macomb Pottery of Macomb. Illinois. On the bottom is debossed writing that states the manufacturer and the patent date. This jar was patented on January 24, 1899. On April 10, 1906; this company sold itself to A.D. Philpot to become Plant 3 of Western Stoneware. The lid is zinc and it turns on and off the same way any canning jar does. With the lid removed, this jar is 6 3/4" tall. The bottom is slightly more than 4 1/2" in diameter. Around the opening are two small chips; both are concealed by the lid. Around the edge, of the bottom are two small chips. This jar has some crazing. Antique Clinton. Missouri Redware Jar Up for auction is a redware jar from Clinton. Henry County, Missouri. I purchased this jar from that area and I am therefore assuming that it was made in Clinton. That area has fine clay and there was once a large number of potteries in that region. I put the age of the piece as sometime between 1880 and 1910 and probably much closer to 1910. There is a great similarity between this jar and work by Michael Jegglin of Boonville, Missouri. Of course his son, E. A. Jegglin, operated a pottery in Calhoun. This piece of stoneware is 8" tall and 6" in diameter at its widest point. It weighs in at 4.2 pounds. The lid to this jar is NOT original to the jar and is from a much newer piece. The bottom of the jar is unique in that it has been glazed along with the inside of the jar. It is marked on the bottom with the blue Nippon Mark. The china is a snow white and shows off the beautiful marron bands or color accented by the heavy gold enamel. You are bidding a Paden City Glass Rabbit. This piece was originally used as a cotton ball dispenser. I believe this piece is from the 1930's. The glass is blue with a satin finish. There are no scratches or cracks in this piece. There is one tiny chip. I tried to capture it in photo#8. You can only see it in certain light because it is shiny. The chip measures approximately 3mm x 2mm. It is not noticeable when the item is displayed but I do need to mention it. It is at 6:00 in photo#8 on the outside rim of the cotton ball hole. It was made and decorated in the Martial Redon factory at the turn of the twentieth century. The bottle shape vase has a unique design with a reticulated neck and fancy open-work handles. It is decorated with heavy gilt and hand painted pink and yellow flowers. This piece measures 10" high. 1 3/4" across at the top and about 5" at the widest point. The bottom has the green white ware mark and the red decorating mark. This vase is in very good estate condition with no damage or restoration noted. Antique Ginger Jar/Covered Urn. For auction is an antique ginger jar or covered urn. It is exquisitely decorated with cherubs. Birds, flowers, leaves, swags and medallions. The colors are earth tone with cream. Brown, gold, yellow and green used throughout the jar. The decorated lid has a dark brown finial. The jar stands about 11 ¾” to the top of the finial. The bottom measures about 4 ¾” across and it appears to be about 7 ½” wide in the middle of the jar(difficult to get an exact measurement. The opening is 3 ¼” across. The jar is in good condition with no chips. Cracks or breaks. There are a couple of pin dots in the surface that probably occurred during its manufacturing and also has crazing over most of the surface.
