This listing is for a wonderful pair of Antique Delft Blue Plates. They were purchased many years ago at an antique store in England. There are no markings that we can find. And we were unable to find any similar plates anywhere online. Based on our research, they appear to be from London in the mid to late 1700s. They are hand painted with floral designs around trophy motifs. They measure 8 3/4" inches in diameter and 1 1/4" inches tall. One is darker blue than the other. They are in very good overall condition with some tiny chips along the rims, and each one has a hairline of about 2" inches going up the rim. Each plate has two small drilled holes, presumable for hanging for display. One plate has the holes above the trophy and one has the holes below the trophy. ANTIQUE DELFT PORCELAIN CIGARETTE JAR+LID ~Trinket Box Canister Container Pot
Antique Delft Jar circa 1969 I purchased this jar in Delft Holland in 1969. I believe this was sold as a decorative cigarette holder at the time. The jar is a straight cylinder and has a lid with an inner lip to hold it in place. Stands 3" tall and 2.5" wide. Lovely floral pattern in classic blue + white. Marked on the underside"Delft Holland" and initials that look like YLS. Has been displayed in the past but never had anything stored inside; clean as a whistle inside. There is overall crazing in the glaze giving it a nice antique patina. The lid has several tiny dings on the underside visible in the last photo; these don't show with the lid in place. There is also a crack in the glaze on the jar's top rim visible in the last photo; there's no chip or break in the pottery though. Appears to be in the glaze ... morealone, and doesn't show with the lid in place. Very clean; no stains or odors; from a non-smoking home and owner. I accept ALL forms of payment. It is in overall good condition with a professional restoration with overpaint to rim- possibly 3" along rim is restored. Fine and tight crazing with staining throughout. Has fritting and small chips to foot. Light glaze scratches. Scuffing to surface and other signs of expected light wear commensurate with age. Measurements: 8.75"H. 7"W. Jar measures about 7 1/2" tall and about 4 1/2" maximum diameter. It is in excellent condition. There is a glazed-over shallow flake to top outside edge. Done in the making. There are a few minor flakes to sharp bottom edge(see photos) I don't see any other chips or cracks. There are many small pits in the glaze, most notably around top edge and on the shoulder. The indent just above the foot has a thin circumferential line of unglazed pottery visible, ... moredone in the making. There are some pits inside bottom as well as a small bit of unglazed adherent pottery, also in the making. There may be other minor irregularities in the making.
