OLD FLORAL CRACK JAR ROYAL TRICO NAGOYA JAPAN* This offering is for a vintage pottery cracker jar by Trico of Japan. The jar without the handle consideration measures between 8 1/4 inches tall. The width of the barrel across from flower to flower handle is 7 1/2 inches. There is staining to this cracker jar toward the bottom as shown. There are no chips or cracks. The handles and finial are in fine condition. The rattan wrapped handle is also in good order which is often not the case from handling it through the years. Gorgeous Antique Biscuit Barrel or Cracker Jar by Thomas Cone Thomas Cone established Alma Works pottery factory in 1856 on High Street in Longton. Stoke-On-Trent. Their specialty was porcelain tea and breakfast ware. This precious biscuit barrel has the mark used by the company from 1892 to 1912. Finely hand gilded and painted with a sand-like finish around the outside. Measures 5" wide x 7" tall to lid finial. 9" tall with handle up. Photographs confirm the condition; no chips, cracks or repairs. Minor gilt wear, crazing on the inside and bottom. Handle and cover have no dents or dings. Antique Cracker Jar. Cracker Barrel, Cracker Container or Biscuit Jar. N C C Japan Jar. It is browns and cobalt blue, 8" tall with lid and 5" across bottom. The lid looks like an acorn mushroom like knob. The top and bottom borders have dragon like figures and the center panel has different variations of shields and lions in different colors on cobalt blue background and there are five beaded rows between the borders. The bottom of the Jar has darkened from age and has some crazing and there is some paint worn off due to age and a tiny nick on inside of lid. Hallmarks on the bottom are N C C over a figural design and leaves with Japan below. There are no cracks, or repairs. The Jar could be used for Biscuits, Crackers, Cookies or after school snacks. Antique 1905 Oak Porcelain Biscuit-Cracker-Cookie Jar~Cathedral Oak Tree
If you check out my last picture you will see both of my estate found antique oak-porcelain British Biscuit-Cookie Jars that are listed this week. However this listing is for the Dark Oak jar on the right with the etched silveplated plaque that reads~Sheffield Cathedral Oak 13th~14th Century. I believe this jar may have been made from slavaged wood from the Sheffield Cathedral. The unique oak barrel has two chipped carved rings around the body of the barrel with a silverplated lid and handle. The heavy porcelain insert keeps the cookies-crackers or biscuits fresh while making a nice display on the breakfast table. The jar is still in excellent condition, there are three old vertical shrinkage lines on the body of the old oak, but the barrel is still sturdy& solid. Beautiful Jar. One of my personal favorites. Great Condition for how old it is. Girl and Roses. Some info I found about MZ Austria: MZ Austria is the wording on a mark used by Moritz Zdekauer on porcelains made at his works in Altrolau. Austria, from 1884 to 1909. Zdekauer's company exported pieces to American and Dutch colonies before it was bought by another company. The mark was changed to MZ Altrolau in 1909. When the firm was purchased by C.M. Hutschenreuther. The firm operated under the name Altrolau Porcelain Factories from 1909 to 1945. It was nationalized after World War II. The pieces were decorated with lavish floral patterns and overglaze gold decoration. Full sets of dishes were made as well as vases, toilet sets, and other wares.

No reserve for this circa 1900 English lusterware porcelain biscuit/cracker jar. Signed but maker unknown. Has similar look of the very rare and desirable Wedgwood fairyland luster of the same period. Measures approximately 7" high to finial top, not including swing handle. Deep cobalt blue ground shows bright iridescent rainbow colors when held at different angles, and forms the background for brilliant butterflies of varying sizes and colors. Signed and numbered as shown on bottom. EPNS metal lid, handle, and collar which has shallow dent/ding on top side. Condition of porcelain: no chips, cracks, or repairs. Some overall crazing as photos show, staining on one side of the interior bottom edge as shown(removable with peroxide if desired) good old patina on the metal, see photos for detail. Found inside jar was a charming note written ... moreby previous owner, attributing how snacking on the jar's contents at night was partly responsible for the British having bad teeth, see photo. It is unmarked, but someone has added in handwriting on tape, Nolie King's Grandmother's sugar bowl, over 100 years old" If it is a sugar bowl it would hold about 3 to 4 cups of sugar! A lovely Made in Germany biscuit/cracker or cookie jar. It has pretty cream and pink roses and beautiful luster colors on white. It has no damage. Measurements are 5" high. 8" across the handles, 5" across the top and19" circumference( around the middle) Excellent condition with no damage, I don't see any wear to the coloring or roses pattern. It has two handles. The only item I see is tiny pin spots on the lid, barely in the surface and look like mfg flaws, one is just a brown speck. Shipping is 3-lbs.
