The side compartments are 20 inches wide and two shelves are behind each door. The center section is 31 inches wide and has three shelves. The overall condition is good. There are a few minor pieces of molding missing, one keyhole cover is missing, and is in good overall condition for being 130 years old. It has panel sides, carved columns, multi-molded edge on the breakfront and carved pillars. It is an impressive bookcase with a few minor issues. A very fine antique. Circa 1880's, simple Eastlake style solid walnut two door bookcase over two drawer base. One piece construction. There are four walnut fronted maple adjustable shelves, the interior back boards also of maple. The panels on the two drawers, and the cornice panel, are burl walnut veneer. The doors retain the original wavy glass panels, and the lock. The drawers have their locks and original hardware. The sides of the walnut case are recessed panels. It is on iron casters. The furniture measures 81" tall by 45-1/2" wide by 16-1/2" the shelves 10-1/2 deep. Excellent condition: original finish, walnut boards without chip or cracks, burl veneer complete. The bottom features two drawers that open and close easily. The glass doors are locking(the lock functions quite easily) and one key is included. Inside are four adjustable wood shelves. These shelves adjust with alligator brackets and are 17.5″ deep. Sturdy bun feet keep the bookcase slightly elevated and quite sturdy. This antique bookcase is really in excellent condition. The drawers and doors function perfectly and the entire unit is stable and sturdy. We do believe that the shelves and glass have been added/replaced since the piece was made. They do not seem as old as 1870. There are also some age separations on the bottom panels of both doors which can be seen in the photos. They are cosmetic only and do not affect the structural integrity of the bookcase. Otherwise this is a unique piece of antique furniture which would look lovely in your home! A very fine antique. Circa 1890's, solid mahogany, and stripped mahogany veneers, double door bookcase. The case has curved front corners carved with spiraling acanthus leaves. Large carved claw feet are on front. The case sides and the top board are solid mahogany. Each door has the original wavy glass panel, brass escutcheons, and the key(the two locks are missing their catch. each compartment holds three adjustable mahogany stained maple board shelves. It measures 56-1/4" tall by 54" wide by 15" deep, the shelves 11-1/4" deep. Excellent condition: beautiful original finish, no chips or cracks to mahogany boards, veneers without chips. The glass panels are undamaged.

As it closes poorly and the lock won't match up[its off about 3/32 or less] properly. 4 shelves[original] and original hardware too. There are some issues with the finish on the top of the case[showing a degree of"alligatoring" but I am loathe to disturb antique finishes myself, preferring someone more qualified to make things right. When one melts silver one can lose as much as 5% of the weight in the smelting process and I can not be held responsible for weight lost after melting. I do not generally melt anything that is well made as it makes little sense to me. So any potential loss should be considered before purchasing my items. All my items are measured with a standard tape measure and are rounded off to the quarter inch. I attempt to be as accurate as possible.
