Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. The aging and burnish process takes a 5 step process and can be hazardous to perform. The aging/burnishing is done at essentially cost. See our ad for Aging Solution. This is a restoration project, one d10 has a broken glass, the door hardware on all will needs some cleaning and tweaking, one iron band is starting to detach, the veneer inside is damaged in one or two pieces, top is delaminating, the base is broken and other minor problems. Eill also need a thorough cleaning and possibly a stain refinish. It is made of oak, a few pieces look like tiger oak, the existing finish is very dark. Antique Globe O Fin OAK BARRISTER Rolled Bookcase Cap
Up for auction is an antique. Original finish, quartersawn Oak Globe Barrister bookcase cap. The cap has a rolled edge. It fits all sections that are 11 3/4" deep(both Globe D& Macey. The cap has banded sides. It is 34" wide. The cap has some wear and irregularities in the finish on the top. There are some small flecks of white paint. It is in very nice condition, and will make a great addition to antique bookcase sections. The cap is being sold as shown at no reserve. Early Antique Original GLOBE WERNICKE BOOKCASE KNOB Cast Iron Pre 1900 style
Offered here is a rare early Cast Iron Globe Wernicke bookcase knob. Which I believe is from the late 1800's and is possibly the earliest style used on their bookcases. Typically when I see these they were used two on each door, and often they are missing. I have one other matching one which I will offer to the winning bidder if they need it and we can do a buy-it now through eBay. The knob measures 1 1/16th" long by 5/8" wide and 9/16" tall. Antique Late 1800s Refinished "GLOBE" Solid Oak 2-Drawer 3x5 Card File Case.
Beautiful antique quartersawn golden oak card file storage box. Made by the Globe Manufacturing Company maker of Barrister bookcases and other modular office furniture. The gold foil Globe label shows some wear. But is very readable. This case measures 14" wide x 17 1/4" deep x 5 1/2" high. The drawers measure 5 3/4" wide x 16 1/2" long x 4" high. Inside drawer measurements are 5 1/8" wide x 15 1/2" long x 3 1/2" sides) high. The outer box constructed of 3/4" thick oak and uses a lap joint in assembly for strength. Drawer fronts are oak and the drawers themselves are dark red painted metal. Paint appears to be original and has a fair amount of scraching and scuffing. But no rust. The sliders are copper plated like the pulls. Brass drawer pulls are also original. Original rubber feet on bottom ... morewere replaced with new matching ones. Box was refinished with several coats of MinWax Satin Varnish and hand-polished with 0000 steel wool and paste-wax to a soft luster. All joints are solid. Some joint movement on the sides of the box(see pictures) but integrity is intact. Some scratches and marks from age. No reserve! This piece is a must-have for anyone who collects Globe bookcases and office furniture. Shipping weight approximately 20 pounds. Very Fast Handling! Ships day after payment is received.
