The side compartments are 20 inches wide and two shelves are behind each door. The center section is 31 inches wide and has three shelves. The overall condition is good. There are a few minor pieces of molding missing, one keyhole cover is missing, and is in good overall condition for being 130 years old. It has panel sides, carved columns, multi-molded edge on the breakfront and carved pillars. It is an impressive bookcase with a few minor issues. I think the wood could be walnut the more I look at it in this dark finish. The overall size is 21 inches square and 35 inches high overall. Each section is 10 inches wide, 7 inches deep, 11 inches high and 12 inches high on the bottom shelf. It is missing a few of the brass tacks, but overall it is complete.
