Extra long one, a 4 door beauty which are divided by interior in two sections. Each side has 3 adjustable shelves for a total of 6. Nice carvings, and blocks between doors and above. Top of the piece had a section that was at one time covered in velvet(which is now dry) which was there originally, set back abot 3 inches away from the edge, all finished. The velvet could be replaced or even a piece of marble could be added. top was meant for display. Sides are done in framed in panels. Gorgeous, Carved Reeded Columns Item# 120112IPP07B This gorgeous pair of English Antique Bookcases are crafted of solid oak. Heavily polished for centuries to create a brilliant and deep patina throughout. They are partially composed bookcases, the bases probably adjusted somewhat to give depth and effect to the overall presentation. While these are not museum quality untouched works for the collector, they are exceptional pieces for any decorator looking for a serious pair of absolutely gorgeous antique oak bookcases. With impressive turned reeded columns flanking each side of the bookcases, lifting a projecting and complex crown molding, the bookcases have incredible presence about them. Each shelf is adjustable. Antique Step Back Bookcase Cupboard 2 Drawers Dbl Casters 19th Century Two Doors
Hi. This wonderful bookcase needs just a little TLC to be an exceptional piece. The dark wood is gorgeous. My best guess is that is is probably a Civil War era piece or possibly earlier. The left door has a vertical latch on the bottom and the right door has a lock mechanism. I replaced the bottom left pane of glass with the existing nails and woodwork intact. Two supports for the fully adjustable shelves have been fashioned out of plywood and do not match the existing supports. One drawer handle is a little loose. The dovetails are hand cut. Not made by machine. The panels in the back could use some work. I did not snug the crown all the way down so the dowels will come out easily when sold, so I can't comment on how tight it is in the rear. The top panes of glass are the original wavy glass. Both bottom panes have been replaced. The ... moredimensions are 87 1/4 x 52 and 19 1/2 inches.deep.This is a beautiful looking piece of furniture. Don't miss out. This is complete and very old! Antique French Carved Oak Brittany Bookcase Cabinet Cupboard 19th Cent
We are proud to offer a beautiful original French antique cabinet. Circa early to mid 1800s. Gorgeous and intricate carving. Original wavy glass. This is an imposing and substantial piece. It is in a top and bottom section. The bottom is 39 inches tall and 35 inches wide and 20 inches deep. The top shelves are 48 inches tall and 43 inches at the widest point(including molding) and 12 inches deep. Overall. It is 87 inches(7 feet, 3 inches) tall and 35 inches wide and 20 inches deep at its extremities. Condition is very good for a piece nearly 200 years old. In certain places you can still see the square-headed nails used in its construction. Of note: The bottom door is stable but can benefit from a re-hinging. There appears to have been a recent(in the last 20-30 years) attempt to re-hinge. Causing a chip in the wood. This can be readily repaired ... moreand we do have the missing chip that can be re-glued. There very top board(above the shelves) is missing. This is not evident unless you open the case and look inside and can be very easily remedied with a painted board. Two small strips of decorative molding at the base are missing(one is lost. The second has fallen off and can be re-applied) Again, given the small size and dark color, not something that is readily evident. The lock is a bit stubborn and might use some oiling.
