The bookcase is completely original including the ornate brass hardware with the exception of the right side glass pane has been replaced and the maple shelves are missing. Maple or pine shelves can be made to duplicate the original shelves with a rounded front edge and finished to match the interior of the bookcase. The original wooden shelf holder inserts are shown in a photo. The bookcase is extremely rare with the lower base design like you would see with a commode or secretary desk bookcase with the side compartment. The elegant bookcase top is graced with beautiful crown moulding adorned with incised carved spade moulding. Two handsome horizontal raised burl panels are found above the gorgeous glass doors. It has turned& fluted burl columns on each side and striking rounded corners featuring fine burl panels.
