He was 96 when he passed and he got this desk from his parents estate in Spokane Wa. when they passed. It is made from solid oak and on the ends of the top board you can see that the top is tongue and grooved. Very hard to show in the pictures. I don't know tiger oak from quarter sawn oak so you be the judge. There is some what appears to be grey paint on one corner of the top. please see pictures. Someone drove 2 finish nails about 2' long into the top of one of the legs. One leg has a chip out of it at the bottom about the size of a quarter and another leg has a little grey paint at the bottom of one side. See pictures. I have made no attempt to repair. Clean or restore the finish on this desk, it is in the condition it was given me in. All in all this desk is in great vintage condition given its age. Another beautiful piece of Italian Renaissance furniture. This is over 100 years old and in amazing condition for the age. The original owner of this piece purchased it in Italy. This piece is a two drawer trestle style library table and it comes with two tooled leather chairs. It stands 30.5" high. Has a length of 63.5" and a width of 31 7/8" The chairs have a back height of 41.25" and the seat height is 20" This is constructed from oak and other woods. The top of the table is a thin piece of wood with framing around and underneath it. The edge is finished with a detailed skirt molding all the way around. The trestle style legs are carved with great detail and end at a nicely carved claw foot on each side. The center board is also carved. Antique 1890's Bookshelf From The First Carnegie Library. Few Made
These were specifically designed and produced for the Duluth Minnesota Carnegie Library. One of the first Andrew Carnegie built. Back when it was speculated Duluth would become the largest city in North America. The library had glass floors and a copper dome and fabulous huge Tiffany windows and rows of these shelves designed just for this library. The library was discontinued in use and a few of these shelves survive. Carnegie designed them himself. They are gorgeous. Wrought iron side pieces and original wood shelf. Fabulous. This is for a single shelf and two side brackets. 7.5" x 7.5" brackets and a 3' shelf. I have used them to set up a library of shelves. Wall hung. Very ornate cast iron sides. I have multiple sets.

Solid Mahogany Empire Library Bookcase
This antique Empire library cabinet/ bookcase would make a beautiful addition to your home or office! It has been dated as early as 1880 to as late as 1910. It's roomy interior has eight shelves that can be used to hold your favorite books or collectibles. There are 6 adjustable shelves and the bottom shelves. It is made of solid ribbon mahogany. The cabinet has it's original wooden back(with some restoration) and original wavy glass in the doors. The cabinet has a key. But it is recommended that it isn't used to lock the cabinet doors regularly as they are a bit tight to lock. This stunning piece has been restored and refinished with a hand rubbed wax finish leaving the wonderful patina and gorgeous original wood tones. I can provide additional pictures if needed. Having just been restored by my very experienced restorer(50 years) it is consequently in excellent condition and is ready for immediate use in the home or for retailing in a prestigious showroom or fair. The second thing that strikes you about this bookcase is the colour and patination. The cabinetmaker that made this bookcase chose some very good quality timbers for the job. This has resulted all these years later in a bookcase with a gorgeous soft rich warm colour and patination that can only be attained by walnut of this age and quality. Thirdly are the proportions. The design of this bookcase is just right and the bookcase benefits from having a good balance.
