Here for auction we have a rare Victorian walnut bureau bookcase of narrow proportions in the Queen Anne manner dating to the second half of the 19th century. This stunning example in keeping with traditional design has an arched cornice over a single mirrored door enclosing adjustable shelves along with drawers and pigeon holes as well as an oak sliding candle tray. The bureau base has a fall down front enclosing further drawers supported by pull out lopers with a bank of graduating drawers being raised on bracket feet. Beautifully crafted to a very high standard the drawers are all oak lined and finished with thick walnut. The drop handles have a small face design and even the hinges are in the early 18th style. Here for auction we have an unusual heavily carved Anglo Indian bookcase dating to the late 19th century. This interesting and unusual bookcase consists of three shelves flanked by either side by heavily foliate carved panels on swept feet.
