The original finish is remarkably well preserved with glowing antique patina. Waxed and buffed. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth will maintain its luster. This luxurious display of artistry was created throughout the Alpine region- in Germany. Switzerland, France, Austria and Italy, and was probably part of a wealthy bridal dowry. Two locks still work. Keys are handles only in the other two locks. Behind doors with wavy glass are original shelves that adjust on wooden supports and iron brackets in the center. Drawers have hand cut dovetails. Switzerland and Germany meet, this hand carved solid oak bookcase or china cabinet dates from around 1880. The original finish is very well preserved with warm antique patina and just enough wear for a little character. Waxed and buffed.
