Condition: Seller refurbished Location: Liberty Hill, United States Victorian Era Mahogany Bookcase with 3 doors, cupid head carving and claw feet. It was probably made between 1890 and 1915. The bookcase stands 70 inches ... moretall, is 63 inches long and 17 inches deep. It has a wonderful Victorian carving of a cupid head surrounded by a large array of acanthus leaf carving over the center door. There are four large claw feet on the front of the bookcase. It has its original wavy glass in all 3 doors. There are twelve adjustable shelves. The hardware is solid brass original to the piece. I have fully restored and refinished this bookcase inside and outside so it is in excellent condition. This is a quality piece of furniture but I do not know who made it. Victorian 2 Door Bookcase Applied Design Original wavy Glass Finish Restored
We are pleased to offer this great Victorian bookcase. The maker of this is unknown to us. This is not a reproduction. The bookcase has been refinished and restored with a new back and two shelfs. It was finished in a honey color. This is made from either maple or cherry under the stain. This has carved designs above the glass panels on the doors. The top has a broken scroll style pediment backsplash with carved and applied acanthus leaf design. The doors have their original wavy glass and the original key as well. This stands 59.5" high and has a width of 35" with a depth of 11 7/8" The inside dimensions are as follows: 44.5"H x 31.75"W x 9.75" D(with the door closed) The front of the bookcase shows ball style feet with a straight square foot in the back. Up for auction is this bookcase door off of a old barristers cabinet. I am not sure of the manufacture.frame seems to be in solid condition. This door also has the old wavy glass.wood has a nice patina probably oak. Door measures 32 7/8" x 11 1/8" Glass size measured in frame is 30" x 7 7/8" There also are some cutouts on the frame out of the wood not sure what they were for. The door have just not have any hardware except for a couple of plates see pics. Check out my other auction I have some barrister ends also available I'll combine shipping. Email with questions. Circa 1940 Oak Four adjustable shelves Hand carved cornice Excellent condition, Some of the most wonderful English antiques are made from oak and have attractive mouldings. Here we have a wonderful example of that in this antique bookcase with glass door. The wood used in this bookcase is solid oak and is quite sturdy. Intricate carvings adorn the cornice. These carvings are subtle and appear to be hand done. The oak itself has a wonderful. Medium patina that comes from the passage of time. The single glass door is fitted ... morewith old, wavy glass giving us some idea of the age of the bookcase. This bookcase originated in England. We purchased it in around Somerset but it could have been made anywhere on the island. It dates back to around 1940. The single glass door of this bookcase locks with an included key. Inside are four adjustable oak shelves. These shelves adjust with a brass pin system and are about 12.25″ deep inside. A brass pin system system is a series of holes on all four corner of the bookcase that you insert brass pins into which the shelf rests on. The shelves are quite visible through the glass. Making this bookcase a wonderful display piece. The bun feet are fitted with antique casters that have porcelain wheels. This bookcase has survived the years with little to no wear and is in excellent condition. It is sturdy. The lock functions easily, and the shelves are strong. Overall this antique bookcase with glass door is strong and sturdy and ready to go directly into your home where it will function for years to come.
