Measures 38" long. 42 3/4" tall and 12" wide. 4 Shelves for books or myriad uses. The back is an open style, the shelves have backing supports- check my photos. The base has 2 small added brass brackets to add support- otherwise it is all held together but the old original mortise& tenon. There is 1 small old chip along the top left edge, otherwise fine clean solid condition. Guaranteed a very old genuine antique oak bookcase 1890-1910 era. Local pick is preferred. We are located just south of Boston Ma. A mortise and tenon joint is a strong. Uncomplicated method of joining two pieces of wood, usually at right angles. It has been used for thousands of ... moreyears in architecture and the construction of anything from boats to furniture.
