This is model# 299 and there are two sections ... morethat are D 10 1/4 and two sections that are D 12 1/4' There is a sticker on the back wall of all of the sections. The assembled piece measures 63.25" high and has a width of 34" and a depth of 12" This is the standard style with plain glass doors made from quarter sawn oak. This still has the original felt at the tops in between the sections. There is one section that is missing a piece that is about 2.5-3" wide. It also has the original brass hardware. This came from a Fitchburg. MA estate and has been in the same family since the original purchase in the early 1900's. There are some age appropriate splotches in the finish and light age and use associated scratches and dings. There are paint specks on the base and there is a small piece of wood missing from the front. There is a split on the side of the top section as seen in the picture. Therre is also a burn in the wood. One of the brackets has some light rust on it and three of the knobs are replacements. There are two screw holes in one panel that it appears someone had attached something to it. This is a previously owned item and is being sold as shown. Please view photos carefully and feel free to ask questions. Returns are accepted only if item is not as described within 14 days of delivery confirmation. Antique Victorian What Not Shelf Walnut Furniture Corner Bookcase Etargere 1800s
This auction is for a wonderful antique corner what not shelf. It is Victorian. Was used to display fancy glassware etc. and from the mid to late 1800's. Made of a beautiful walnut, it is of a nice weight and is sturdy. It is about 60 inches tall. It is in very good condition for its age- it does have one piece of decorative trim that is missing on the upper left(see photos) This could be replaced or you could probably remove the decorative trim from both sides if you want to even it up. There is one small area of old scratches in the wood on the second to bottom shelf.see last picture) I consider this very minor. I believe it is the original finish and it is in great condition. Antique 1820 French Furniture
This piece was made from Italian walnut veneers in France in 1820. I believe it was originally an armoire and some time in its history was converted to a bookcase. The clothes bars are still in the case so it can be easily used as originally intended. The piece originally could be broken down into three pieces. The crown. The center section, and the base that includes a drawer. The pins that hold the pieces together have been glued to make the piece one unit. It makes it very stable and easy to move about. If so desired I'm sure a restoration professional could free the pins. There also were installed hidden metal brackets to support the crown which is unique and quite large. The shelves used for books in its current format are removable. The feet I would describe as bun feet. There is a key that locks the doors on the bookcase section. ... moreThe drawer pulls are walnut. The size is 101" Tall X 48" Wide X 19" Deep. These are dimensions taken at the widest and tallest points. The fact it is only 8' 5" tall allows it to be used in a more modern house with lower ceilings.
