Measures out the same as an"E" size Globe Wernicke ... moreor Macey. Original finish. Has the step back board, compatible with"E" or"D" size stacks. Quarter sawn oak. Uses a hinge/slide system nearly identical to the early Globe system. NO door knob or glass. With a few bottom parts this would drop right onto a Globe or Macey base. As you can see in the last picture a Globe top(or section) fits nicely on top. The Globe top in the picture is NOT included. The bottom board has been broken then nailed back on backwards, it looks bad like it is but simply needs to be flipped and glued. Dimensions: 34 1/2" wide x 16" tall x 13 7/8" deep at the deepest part = the step back board. Condition: Far from mint but excellent for restoration. See pictures. $35.00 Shipping Condition: Used Location: Friendswood, United States We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique barrister bookcase. This is made by the Globe Wernicke Company. This is model# 299 and there are two sections ... morethat are D 10 1/4 and two sections that are D 12 1/4' There is a sticker on the back wall of all of the sections. The assembled piece measures 63.25" high and has a width of 34" and a depth of 12" This is the standard style with plain glass doors made from quarter sawn oak. This still has the original felt at the tops in between the sections. There is one section that is missing a piece that is about 2.5-3" wide. It also has the original brass hardware. This came from a Fitchburg. MA estate and has been in the same family since the original purchase in the early 1900's. There are some age appropriate splotches in the finish and light age and use associated scratches and dings. There are paint specks on the base and there is a small piece of wood missing from the front. There is a split on the side of the top section as seen in the picture. Therre is also a burn in the wood. One of the brackets has some light rust on it and three of the knobs are replacements. There are two screw holes in one panel that it appears someone had attached something to it. This is a previously owned item and is being sold as shown. Selling an Antique Oak Barrister Bookcase made by Macey. Measures 62h x 34w x 11d and has 4 sections in great condition. There is no issue with the Glass. Just a reflection from the flash. I am told the base(pictured) is probably not the original, it is the one I received with the unit. There was a repair made to the top at some point which is highlighted in 2 pictures. Unit originally had lights which were removed. You can see a small slit made at the top, back of each unit to pass a cord thru. Does not affect the unit from the front. The Barrister must be picked up on or before November 11.

Original Bookcase Knob This knob was removed from a Wernicke Elastic barrister bookcase. It's from the short era when Wernicke was based in Grand Rapids. Knob is smaller than what they used after the merger with Globe. The knob pictured is the knob you will receive. Knob is just like it was removed and has not been cleaned. I know it's an original because I am the person who removed it from the bookcase. Dimensions: 1/2" diameter top. 1/4" diameter base. Protrudes 1/2" Condition: Nice. Has not been cleaned or polished. early 20th century oak Barrister's bookcase section, NR
This is one section of a barrister's bookcase which dates from the late 19th century or early 20th. It came along as an unsuitable addition to a barrister's bookcase that I bought for myself. And since it did not actually fit that bookcase I naturally separated it, and now have no use for it. So it's offered here starting low and with no reserve, cause it's just taking up space and I want it out of here. Note that this is a pickup only item, since it would be a lot of work to ship it for not much money. If you really want it shipped, contact me and we might be able to work something out for a higher price. It's in useable though not perfect condition; enlarge the photos for more detail about that.
