This grand library bookcase has marvelous spiral columns, plus high relief panels with"music" and"architecture" motifs. Doors have old wavy glass on this furniture from the alpine area of southern Germany and eastern France. Often called"Black Forest" design. The original finish is remarkably well preserved with glowing patina. Waxed and polished. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm deep luster. This is a superb oak French bookcase. Circa 1885. Some very fine carving all over this piece with leafs, berries, flowers, etc. in an overall organic motif. Sometimes called a hunt board by some dealers. Interior has been covered by the previous owner in reddish material; I have left it on as he looks nice but can be removed if you like. Three shelves are all movable on this two piece cabinet. Drawer pulls are carved integral to the drawer fronts. Note the bottom doors are different carvings from each other in heavy relief(shelf in bottom section) Carvings on this piece are in excellent condition with just the expected minor rub or loss. Made in Europe Circa 1890 Carved oak Stunning carvings Pair Slight differences Strong and sturdy Excellent overall condition, Here we have a very hard to find pair of antique carved oak bookcases. They were made in Europe sometime around 1890 of solid oak. Today they remain in excellent condition with only two minor cosmetic issues that have been pictured. There is a small break to one of the mouldings and an age separation on one of the side panels. The pair is strong and will last for many years. There are slight differences between the two bookcases ... morethat are hard to notice unless you are looking for them. The left bookcase is slightly darker than the right. The carvings are also slightly different in spots which we have tried to captivate in the photos. However. These differences serve to make the bookcases more a unique pair than separate them. Both the upper doors and lower doors on the bookcases lock and there are four keys included. The wooden shelves in the upper sections are adjustable and quite strong. The bookcases break down into two parts each(top and bottom) for easier transporting. This is a rare French Renaissance style pair antique bookcases in carved oak. Both bookcases open to reveal large storage areas with shelves. The alligator brackets provide strong. Versatile shelf support. These carved columns differ slightly but complement each other very well. Again these carvings differ slightly. But together they look complete. This close up shows the level of detail in the intricate door carvings. The oak wood has a lovely patina and the hand carvings are very well done. Mid 19th Century Rare Carved Solid Oak Bookcase On Cupboards
Hi. This is a stunning old piece of furniture dating back to mid 19th century. As you can see it's been hand carved with lovely features all around it. It is made from oak so is very solid and heavy but comes in two so it's not to bad to move around. There's is signs of wear around this item as to be expected with age. Also as you can see on my photos there is one of the feet missing but still sits level. Could easily be replaced if need be. THE BEST CARVED EAGLE ANTIQUE OAK BOOKCASE EVER
You won't find a more impressive bookcase around. Wonderful carved eagles and all out of solid oak. It measures 110" wide. 89" tall and 24" deep.It was found in a German headquarters after the war and was shipped home. I also have the Matching Desk which is also on my store. I am not sure how heavy but It does come apart for shipping and we do have a loading dock. You could drive the wheels off a caddy and you couldn't find a better one.

Fantastic Bookcase It is with a heavy heart that I am parting with my favorite piece of furniture. This is a great bookcase and it is in exceptional condition. I never thought I would sell. But I am going with a larger one. This is a turn of the century piece, more likely about 1880's, not positive. There are two nicks on the top. One I show in the photo's the other is not really visible due to location. Rock solid piece, glass is great, shelves sit sturdy with no rocking. Drawers work well. Shelves are adjustable to any dimension you would want basically. This is a very. Very nice piece and I have only good things to say about it. Antique French Carved Oak Brittany Bookcase Cabinet Cupboard 19th Cent
We are proud to offer a beautiful original French antique cabinet. Circa early to mid 1800s. Gorgeous and intricate carving. Original wavy glass. This is an imposing and substantial piece. It is in a top and bottom section. The bottom is 39 inches tall and 35 inches wide and 20 inches deep. The top shelves are 48 inches tall and 43 inches at the widest point(including molding) and 12 inches deep. Overall. It is 87 inches(7 feet, 3 inches) tall and 35 inches wide and 20 inches deep at its extremities. Condition is very good for a piece nearly 200 years old. In certain places you can still see the square-headed nails used in its construction. Of note: The bottom door is stable but can benefit from a re-hinging. There appears to have been a recent(in the last 20-30 years) attempt to re-hinge. Causing a chip in the wood. This can be readily repaired ... moreand we do have the missing chip that can be re-glued. There very top board(above the shelves) is missing. This is not evident unless you open the case and look inside and can be very easily remedied with a painted board. Two small strips of decorative molding at the base are missing(one is lost. The second has fallen off and can be re-applied) Again, given the small size and dark color, not something that is readily evident. The lock is a bit stubborn and might use some oiling. Antique extendable oak book shelf with carved ends.
I brought the book shelf from a lovely little antique shop in the Lake District when I was on my Honeymoon. However I never got round to putting it up and I don't really have the room for it. It has been in a corner of my bedroom for ages now, which is a real shame as its a beautiful piece of Oak. The shelf measures 11" and extends to 21" Please look carefully at the photo's above as I have taken pictures of every angle and a close up of the carving on the ends. It's in very good condition + extends perfectly.

54889 ANTIQUE 1890s CARVED OAK 65" 3 DOOR CHINA CABINET BOOKCASE W LINEN BASE
A most unusual antique. Circa 1890's, quartersawn oak three door china cabinet(may be used as a bookcase) with a base compartment across for linens. One piece construction. The three doors open to a compartment that has five adjustable shelves across. There is a key for the doors with brass escutcheons(the left door is missing the lock. The cornice, upper door frames, and the base front, are deeply carved. It measures 6'8" 80" tall by 5'5" 65" wide by 22" deep, the plate grooved shelves 5-1/2" deep. Very good plus condition: original finish, oak boards without damage(horizontal crack to the very top board. All three original wavy glass panels are fine.

This is a superb 19th century oak carved heraldic book slide with a crest carved to either end. Really excellent attention to carved detail. One end is carved with three crowns and an open book inscribed with latin text. The other end is carved with three fleur-de-lye. All carving is beautifully worked in deep relief. In fantastic condition. with original finish. has wavy glass. came out of a lawyers estate and has been in the family since the late 1800s. 75" wide x 73" tall the two end doors the shelf is 19" wide. the middle shelf if 28 1/2" wide. It is paneled on the back and sides. It all breaks down in to 4 pieces. top. and each of the 3 section. I have not seen one this nice in a very long time.
