The ... morelectern rack is missing the single piece of wood of bottom molding. The lectern opens and closes as desired. It has a gadroon edge. It is finished in a dark walnut stain. I think the wood could be walnut the more I look at it in this dark finish. The overall size is 21 inches square and 35 inches high overall. Each section is 10 inches wide, 7 inches deep, 11 inches high and 12 inches high on the bottom shelf. It is missing a few of the brass tacks, but overall it is complete. The bottom of one of the sections has a crack and oval stain, which has no effect on the bookcase. Shipping starts at $185 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.

This is a beautiful golden oak victorian bookcase circa 1880. The bookcase has 2 glass doors. 4 adjustable shelves, and 2 storage drawers at the base. The drawers have the nice original hardware including key eschusions and locks although there is no key. However the doors doesn't have the key eschusion but has the lock and the working key. The same key does not fit the doors and drawers. The bookcase is a nice size. It measures 70 1/2" tall, 36" wide, and is 13 1/2" deep at the top 12" deep at the shelves and 15" deep at the base. The original beveled mirror on the top backsplash is 10 1/2" x 6 1/2" oval and has a smoky appearance. There is nice trim around the doors. This is a great early Victorian walnut two piece bookcase. The bottom section is a two door glass bookcase with four adjustable shelves. The top half is a unique bookcase file storage section with three glass doors. Notice the unique horizontal files for storage on both side doors of this top section. On the brass hardware on this bookcase there is a patent date of Feb. 25th. 1858. This bookcase standing together measures 90" high, at the widest is 63" wide and the depth is 17" deep. What an outstanding piece of Victorian Walnut. I have had many that have suggested that this could of come out of a music room and the top was used to file sheet music. This is an exceptional great walnut bookcase in original finish. This double door bookcase has raised beveled panels and shaped windows in the frames. The crest has a nice turned finial with fine carving. This wonderful crest will come off when moving. The drawers have dovetailed joints. The shelves are trimmed with walnut the secondary wood is a pine. Definitely made in the American Victorian Renaissance Style or the Circa 1870's. Beautiful Hand Painted Gold Embellished Victorian Lacquered Sliding Book Rack
Up for auction is a beautiful Victorian era black lacquered wood sliding book stand. This is a great piece and have never seen one similar. It is made of hardwood and beautifully lacquered in black and embellished with gold detailing and painted on each end are Lily of the Valley flowers. This beautiful little Victorian book rack used to belong to my grandmother who died back in 1966 and has sat in storage in my parents garage not seeing the light of day for almost 47 years. Check the photos closely for there is some crazing to the lacquer which is typical and one side where the hinges are screwed to the end. It is rare as it has been crafted from the most beautiful burr walnut, and only a few bookcases were made in such beautiful French burr walnut. And to cap it all, it has wonderful hand cut and masterfully executed, inlaid decoration. It has two glazed doors on top for displaying your favourite books with two useful drawers below. T he two paneled doors on the bottom open to reveal a spacious cupboard. It retains it's original handles and locks. The shelves are all adjustable which makes it easy to have different sized books disp layed. There are two useful drawers for extra storage. It's a really sweet cabinet. The glazing is pretty in an almost arched format, it carries it's age very well, the carv ed mouldings on the upper corners are very arts and crafts. Antique Victorian 1870s Bamboo 3 shelf Book Case ~ AMAZING Condition ~ Pokerwork
Description: Here is a MARVELOUS example of a Victorian Era Bamboo Book Case. It has the tortoise shell decoration to the bamboo parts as well as some pyrography leopard spots remaining on the shelves. There is also a pair of sharpened dowels running up each side and nice turned ball finials. It is about 36" tall to the knobs on the rear legs. the top shelf sits about 29" above the floor.it is about 20" wide and 11" deep. it is complete and the shelves are all solid at the corners. the two top shelves are 100% the bottom shelf had a small split near one corner but that was repaired a long time ago from the looks of it and the board is feels as solid as the other two. The is an age crack or two here and there but none seem to be in a critical area. The bottom right rail of the little decorative gallery at the rear of the ... moretop shelf has a tiny amount of wiggle room but remains solid as are the rest of the gallery pieces. I also added two more pictures of the feet of the shelf which shows that each leg ends in a solid and complete bamboo"ring" node. Those of you familiar with these shelves will know how rare that is on a piece of this age. The color and patina are FIRST RATE as you can see in my pictures. Lease look at all of my pictures to judge color and condition for yourself. This is one of the best examples that I have come across in years. For auction here we have a very pretty Victorian walnut inlaid pier cabinet dating to the latter 19th century. This fine example has a moulded edge top edge over a single glazed door enclosing shelves and flanked by ormolu mounts and string inlay and is raised on a plinth style base. Victorian Carved Solid Cherry Bookcase ca. 1860
This ca.1860 solid cherry carved bookcase was custom built for Daniel A. Kenney in Boston. MA. Mr. Kenney worked on the ironclad ship, the"USS Monitor" The"Battle of Hampton Roads" between the USS Monitor and the CSS Virginia, was the first engagement between ironclad vessels during the war for Southern Independence. There is a descriptive historical plaque of ownership inside on the right. The bookcase measures 65" tall with gallery, 19" deep by 51" wide. Notice the Jenny Lind dovetailing on the drawers. The arched glass in the doors is beveled. The intricate carving is flawless. The right door squeaks when opened. There are 2 one inch long discolortions and a third one that is 1/4" long on the right side without indentations. They just appear as thin dark lines. On the top gallery, there is a circular ... morediscoloration. On the top left side at the back there is a tiny chip measuring 1/4" x 1/2" In no way does it take away from the exceptional beauty and craftsmanship of this historical piece.
