A very fine antique. Circa 1890's, plain oak two glass door bookcase, with steam pressed scroll designs. There is a beveled glass mirror on the back crest, with two nicknack shelves spindle supported. There are four original oak adjustable shelves, one with plate groove. Doors include the original brass pull and lock, no key. The left glass door panel is original wavy, the right panel is new glass. Bookcase measures 6'4" 68" tall by 13-1/4" deep, the shelves 10-3/4" deep, by 3' 36" wide. Excellent condition: oak boards without chips or cracks, unworn original finish. Mirror has some backing cloudiness, all glass without damage.

A most unusual antique. Circa 1890's, quartersawn oak three door china cabinet(may be used as a bookcase) with a base compartment across for linens. One piece construction. The three doors open to a compartment that has five adjustable shelves across. There is a key for the doors with brass escutcheons(the left door is missing the lock. The cornice, upper door frames, and the base front, are deeply carved. It measures 6'8" 80" tall by 5'5" 65" wide by 22" deep, the plate grooved shelves 5-1/2" deep. Very good plus condition: original finish, oak boards without damage(horizontal crack to the very top board. All three original wavy glass panels are fine.

54778 ANTIQUE 1870s FRENCH RENAISSANCE 3 DOOR 6' BOOKCASE W PORCELAIN PLAQUE
A very finely made antique. Circa 1870's, Renaissance Revival bookcase, probably French made. The case has three compartments: center with one stationary removable shelf, the glass doored ones with each two removable stationary shelves. The interiors and the shelf surfaces are all in an original golden velvet. There are ormolu brass bandings and mounts to the exterior, four ebonized columns and six ebonized bun feet. The center door has a hand enamel painted and gilted porcelain plaque of Venus and Cupid. The bookcase is veneered in bandings of plain maple and tiger maple, and mahogany, inlays in mahogany. The top surface and center door have a dark olive-brown stained maple veneer. It measures 3'8" 42-1/2" tall by 6' 72" wide by 16" deep, the shelves 10" deep. Excellent condition: original finish to woods, ... moreno cracked case boards. Minor chips on one ebonized plinth. Minor scratches to top surface, no ring spots. Original wavy glass on left door, new glass replaced on right door. Includes the three locks and the key, missing the brass to keyhole on left door.

There are three bookcase doors over two drawers and a doored compartment with beautiful carved leafy rosette. The original wavy glass door panels open to three interiors with eleven adjustable walnut fronted maple shelves. The doors retain their locks, the original door handles with escutcheon removed and replaced with round brass knobs. The bottom drawers retain the fancy brass pulls with lock and escutcheon. A quite large three door bookcase with three drawer base. Considered in ways French Empire. Has a column front and many inlaid bronze/brass trims. Hard to find bookcase will display a nice collection with ample room. It's in good shape and we are yet to clean it but we will before sending out. Someone along the way has replaced the wood shelves with glass ones and they are done correctly. They must have used it for a glass collection or something similar.
