A Victorian Coromandel Sliding Bookends These pretty bookends have two decorative end panels which are embellished with gothic brass ware. Each end panel are hinged and turn upwards and also slide to take a varied amount of books, one of the end panels has been replaced and it has had simulated graining applied. Lovely Vintage Flemish Art Pyrography Adjustable Sliding Book Rack, Very Old
This is a unique and lovely old Flemish Art adjustable book rack that I found at an estate sale in western New York. It features bunches of grapes done with pyrography on both ends and on the base. The wood has a nice patina from age. It measures 17 inches long x 7 inches wide. And is 6 3/4 inches high. The space for the books is 14 1/2 inches. It slides to adjust to the number of books it will hold.

Beautiful Hand Painted Gold Embellished Victorian Lacquered Sliding Book Rack
Up for auction is a beautiful Victorian era black lacquered wood sliding book stand. This is a great piece and have never seen one similar. It is made of hardwood and beautifully lacquered in black and embellished with gold detailing and painted on each end are Lily of the Valley flowers. This beautiful little Victorian book rack used to belong to my grandmother who died back in 1966 and has sat in storage in my parents garage not seeing the light of day for almost 47 years. Check the photos closely for there is some crazing to the lacquer which is typical and one side where the hinges are screwed to the end. This is a beautiful. Original Art Nouveau period, circa 1915, Judd expandable polychrome brass book rack. It features two women on each of the ends. The finish is good with only minor signs of loss and a slight patina in the floral areas. The design is the epitome of the art nouveau period. The women have long, flowing hair, there is stippled background design, mushroom cutout and flowers. Vintage, expandable bookrack featuring an owl sitting on a branch with pinecones with all the detail typical of pieces forged in the 1920s/1930s. In the picture. You can read that so I had to polish it to be able to see what it said. RARE PIECE. It could be a little SNUFF BOX CHARM, or I have seen similar charms with little dice inside. There was nothing inside when I bought this charm. It weighs 4.0 grams. I do not clean or polish my vintage charms so they retain their vintage patina. Some people like them very shiny and others like them with a nice warm patina. All charms are vintage so expect vintage condition, NOT NEW. Description: Here is a great piece from a local estate sale. This folding book rack belonged to the brother of the elderly woman who sold it to me. She said her brother had just started at Oxford University in England the year that the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and he packed up and came home to join the army and became a pilot and was shot down over the Pacific. She said he had bought the book rack in Oxford and it was one of the few things from there he brought home with him. She said that it was never really used and sat for decades. Folded up on a shelf in her parents living room. This makes sense because the top side shows that it was exposed to sunlight and dust over the years but the backsides of the book ends look smooth and almost new. There is some nice inlay on the end pieces and it all has a wonderful color and patina remaining ... moreon it as you can see in my pictures. This is a quite superb carved gothic wooden oak sliding book shelf with the gothic tracery carvings to either end of which: During our research we have been informed it certainly dates from the 19th century and is of a european origin. Dates about c1880. In an oak. Wonderful gothic tracery carvings in relief to either end with the gothic shaped ends. Sliding book shelf. Folds flat. H as an overall length of about 17inches when closed. Extends to about 27inches when fully extended. Opened. Height of about 10.75i nches. Max depth of about 5.25inches. Condition: Considering the age. The overall condition is excellent and is not subject to any major blemishes. A couple of slats underneath are a different colour and may well have been replaced. FINE Antique Arts & Crafts INLAID BRASS & WOOD INDIAN ENDS SLIDING BOOK HOLDER
I will be listing a variety of nice estate-fresh Antique and Vintage Items this week. Here is an Exceptional ANTIQUE BRASS ADJUSTABLE SLIDING BOOK HOLDER with INLAID WOOD& BRASS NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN ENDS. Unsigned except for numbers"11" and"12" stamped on and bottom of the ends. This is the nicest antique book holder that I've ever seen. I would estimate book holder to be c.1910 vintage or thereabouts. There are two types of wood in the ends with the Indian faces comprised of a nice burlwood. There is a brass snake inlaid in upper corners. The inner dimensions of the book holder where the books would sit adjust from 14-7/8" out to about 26-3/8" The book holder is in nice condition as found in a well-to-do old estate this past weekend. The brass has been polished in it's history. Smooth-working fold-down ... moreends. Weighs 3.5 lbs. Great book holder! INSURANCE INCLUDED in the shipping total.
