Charming Antique Dome Pine / Oak Wood Small Trunk, c 1880, Great Brass Hinge
Charming all-wood domed small trunk circa 1880s. Has original top handle and fantastic front brass hinge. Hinge has a mark. Patent date of 1880s(I think) Great shape and design. Very useable size at 14" tall x 16" across front, 13" deep. It is utterly charming and substantial enough to hold linens or other objects. It certainly was too large for a doll trunk so might have been for a child but it's heavy and substantial so was not a plaything. Beautiful outside condition on wood which looks to be pine with oak trim. A couple of expected splits on top. Front must have had leather straps at one time but are now gone; 3 of 4 metal clips remain. I always thought I'd buy a leather belt at a thrift store and add straps but never did because it's great the way it is. Inside is unrestored and original(but cleaned by me) ... morewith no interior tray. Would look great at foot of single bed. Shipping might be less to California and will refund anything over $5.

Antique American Pine wood blanket chest trunk, primitive country 1800-1899
This blanket chest has been in my family for 50 years. It is an early primitive pine piece with lots of storage inside. It looks like it may have been stained red originally. Most of the color had faded. In very good condition and a real charmer. There are 3 old black burn rings on the top as seen in the last photo. The measurements are length 42"x width 18.5" x 20" height. A great size for a coffee table or end table.

Swedish 1840's Pine Immigrant Chest or Trunk. Coffee Table. Hand carved in Sweden around 1840. This country pine immigrant trunk or chest has a slightly curved top, but still makes a picturesque coffee table. The carpenter's expertise is shown by wooden pegs instead of nails and hand cut corner dovetail joints. There is a wonderful hand wrought iron lock that still works with the key. But we have removed it because it locks automatically when the lid is closed. It is included and can be reattached if desired. Wrought iron hinges are also original. There are traces of old paint and warm antique patina. Waxed and buffed so that all that is needed to maintain its warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. A 19th century primitive pine blanket box with bootjack ends. It measures approximately 23-1/4" tall. 48" wide, and about 20-3/8" deep. We believe it is American and we do not know the maker. It almost appears to have been constructed of old flooring. There is overall normal surface wear commensurate with age and use, including plenty of dings and scratches found commonly on antique furniture. The entire surface has been refinished and the hinges have been replaced. We do not have the key. Overall. The structural integrity is good with no major problems.
