VTG Antique Flat Top Black Trunk Chest Original Everlasting Hardware Blue Insert* Up for your consideration is a VTG Antique Flat Top Black Trunk Chest Original Everlasting Hardware Blue Insert. This trunk is in fairly good overall condition. I am not positive as to when this was made but the hardware is classic late 1800s hardware that i commonly see on a trunk like this. The insert here is really what stood out to me it is in very good condition. In fact probably the best trunk insert I have ever seen that was in original condition and not restored. The left side of the trunk on the exterior near the top rim there is a dent with a small hole where something hit the trunk it looks like. The interior has a few spots where the paper is starting to come off or are chipped and the ledges that the insert sets on is starting to separate from the ... moresides but nothing major and not loose. The trunk has I believe it's original owners name shown under the top and on the top of insert as shown in photos. This would make a great coffee table. Antique Oak 2 Drawer Chest Black Painted Sides Country Style
This antique two-drawer chest has tons of character. The wood looks like oak and has been painted black on the sides and around the drawers on the front. Panelled sides and an overhanging molded top as well as molding at the base. Drawers have intricately designed metal pulls and there are circular wooden escutcheons surrounding the two keyholes. Sorry. No keys! The drawers have been assembled with strong doweled joints. Overall. This piece is in good condition, however there is obvious wear as you can see from the pictures. The front corners of the overhanging top have broken away and there is also damage to the framing of the drawer fronts on both sides. Paint and finishes look original, but have some significant wear to them. There are also some small holes in the top that look like they were made by nails. Up for Auction is an ANTIQUE Vintage Steamer Black Metal Lined Wood TRUNK. It has Nice Metal corners and has a thin lining of metal over wood. Inside it is lined also. There is an insert that has makes a shelf. The bottom of the insert has detatched from the sides. See pictures. The wood is lined with blue and white paper. It has a lock by the Eagle Lock Company which was in business in the late 1800's and early 1900's. There is no key and the middle of the handle is missing. The trunk has the intials PTM on it. The metal is scatched. Warped and dinged from use and it is very old. The lining inside also has marks and is tearing from age. It also has rivots on the sides. This is an old antique doll trunk. It looks reaaly great for it's age. I would say it is from the late 1800's maybe early 1900's. This one here does have the tray with it. The size is 17 1/2" tall 26 1/4" wide 14 3/4" deep thats the outside. The inside is 24 3/4" wide 13 1/2" deep and 11 1/2" tall. The tray is 24 1/4"wide and 13" deep and 4" tall. Here is a beautiful Jenny Lind trunk from the Civil War period. Jenny Lind trunks are scarce. These were the top model trunks from any trunk maker of the day. They took quite a bit more work to put together and sold for a premium. Jenny Lind trunks were named after the Swedish singer who toured the U.S. in the early 1850's with P.T. Barnum. Known as the"Swedish Nightingale" she is said to have had a trunk like this one with her and they became all the rage for several years. They have a beautiful keyhole or figure eight shape. Most of the trunks like this were made in New England and are each a little different and hand made. The trunk has a beautiful interior with a lid door to store items and an interior shelf. Fruit and vine motifs are beautiful on this antique fruitwood trunk. Worn appliques of hand stitched needlework band this antique furniture. Cast brass handles are original. The original finish has been waxed and buffed. So all that is needed to maintain its luster is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. There are shrinkage separations from age. See photos. This is a cool vintage large Louis Vuitton Steamer Trunk! Just add glass for the perfect coffee table! Black trim which wears better and looks less worn than the tan. It is stamped with initials and NY. I love that its from New York! 39" wide x 22" tall x 21" deep Approx 50lbs It is not perfect. Of course. One side has appears to have gotten wet. Antique Steamer Trunk Victorian Flat Top Salesman Chest mid 1800's. Red & black
Considering it's age. I would say it's in great condition! There are some signs of aging but it still has all the original pieces, including the hardware. It has been painted red and it's chipping off, revealing a gold and black chest. It's been stored and unaltered. There is some cracked wood on the llid of the trunk. It's a beautiful piece with great potential. After a good authentic refurbishment, it will be amazing! It's a true period piece and a conversation starter!
