measurements on this small box/chest are approximately 22 1/2 inches long by 4 1/2 inches high by 5 1/2 inches wide. Because this is handmade it runs a little more or less than measurements listed. I'm not sure of the age but estimate the late 1800's to early 1900's. This has original hardware and shows that it has been used a lot. The third picture shows the indentation from the hinge where it has been opened repeatedly. This is original condition and has not been cleaned up or"improved" in any way. Have questions-just ask.

Two black leather straps cut from cowhide 1 1/4" by 3/16" thick nine inches long. Four brass plated metal strap ends painted black one side. Split head brass tacks-eight 1" long to nail the leather to the trunk. Tacks are to be placed two per end under the position of the metal strap ends in a verticle position for best attachment. Form the permanent handle loop to suit before completing the nailing. Split head tacks 3/4" are to fasten the strap ends. The handles measure approx 11" metal end to metal end but can be shortened by cutting a bit off of the leather strap if required to fit. free postage

Antique Trunk Hardware-Leather Handles-2 straps, 4 Metal ends-& fasteners--0
Two chestnut colored leather straps cut from cowhide 1 1/4" wide by 8 inches long. Thickness is 1/4" Four brass plated metal strap ends. 1" long split head brass tacks to nail the leather to the trunk. Tacks are to be placed two per end under the position of the metal strap ends in a verticle position for best attachment. Form the permanent handle loop to suit before completing the nailing. Split head tacks 3/4" are to fasten the metal strap ends. The handles measure approx 10 1/2" metal end to metal end but can be shortened by cutting a bit off of the leather strap if required to fit. free postage
