Great Antique c.1900's 73" Oak Mission/ Arts and Craft Bench: Thirtythree Slats
This early 1900's oak bench is hard to find in this great condition. It is functional and can be used in many diffierent areas. It was last used as a waiting bench for a lawyer's office. The bench is in great condition being both sturdy and solid. The wear is appropiate and consistent with the age and use. There is a minor professional repair on each arm but no further repairs or damage are noted. It has a fine older finish with a nice patina. The stretcher base extends between the legs the length of the base. There are thirtythree(33) back slats. The slats and seat bottom are both contoured so as to provide a comfortable siting. There is a metal maker's mark on the backside( please see picture three) The approx. dimensions are as follows: 73"L; 20"W; and 21: D. Antique Steamer Trunk, 7 dome oak wood slats- replacement parts
These are 7 dome top trunk slats removed from an old trunk. This is one of those trunks I saved for my garden. These are probably before 1890 because there are pairs of nail holes. In the mid 1890s there was a change to only 1 nail where the 2 had been before to save money. These slats have both double nail holes and single nail holes but they came from the same trunk top. These need to be cleaned and refinished. See photos for condition. I think I labeled the picture correctly. Antique. Vintage wonderfully constructed Mechanic's Creeper. The original boards, fasteners and casters have a great old patina and item displays very well. There are not any markings that I can find on this sturdy piece. I would imagine it is from the early 1900's. The wheels are heavy metal but two of them are worn down to half the diameter and are now half circles. This would have taken years of use and wear to get them down this far. Part of the wood between these casters has worn down as well. Wood is in great condition for age. The headrest is adjustable, which is unique for this early of a creeper.The item is in used condition as can be expected. Super Rare Oak Slat Trunk w/ Grooved Slats Very nice restored Oak Slat Beveled Flat Top Trunk- Circa 1880's. The oak slat trunk in general is a very rare trunk. Much more so than the Louis Vuitton's, but there were very few made with the grooved slats. I've had several suggest that this is a Martin Meier trunk, but I cannot confirm that to be true. The trim has been painted with 2 coats of flat black paint. Very solid trunk all around, nicely built, hinges are strong. The handles have been replaced with new 3-ply leather for many more years of life. The interior of this trunk is second to none and in my opinion is the best you'll find in the marketplace. A friend of mine does most of my trunk interiors. She's been doing trunks for 30+ years and her work is exceptional. Absolutely beautiful design and border that coordinate ... moreperfectly together. 100% glued in so it should never peel or loosen over time. Nicely done tray is also included, but a key is not. This basket has been well cared for by previous owner. No latch on lid, didn’t seem to ever be one. It measures approx 18" long x 11" wide x 9" high. I think the wicker is original, but I can't guarantee. CHAIR IN ONE PHOTO NOT INCLUDED. Desk is very solid in good condition. Drawer works fine with two apparently original hardware pulls(a bit of wear, see photo) Four great cubby holes. See sleigh like feet. Meaures 36" wide by 23" deep by 30 1/2" height. Antique Chicago Cast Iron Park Bench Garden Bench with Newly Replaced Oak Slats
A cast iron park/ garden bench ca.1910. The turn of the century cast iron bench ends were purchased in Chicago in the 1990's and are typical of park benches found in parks in Chicago. The 1" solid oak slats are two year old replacements that were finished with a clear waterproof sealant. Slats are attached with bolts and nuts consistent with the originals. The bench has remained under a covered porch and is in excellent condition. The bench measures 37"Wide x 31 1/2"High x 26"Deep(overall dimensions) It is a heavy piece. But I was not able to weigh it.
