Antique green lift top chest. Classic primitive or country style. It looks like it was made from pine and has a basic six-panel construction. The top is made from three framed boards with a raised piece on top. Iron side handles and a molded base. Paint looks original or at least very old. Interior has sections for holding things in the front and stepped sides to hold boxes up. There are also strips of gathered leather attached to the top that may have been for tools and a cut-out"L" shape that may have held a carpenter's square. So it seems likely that this trunk was probably a tool chest at some point. Trunk probably dates from the late 19th or early 20th century. Overall. This piece is in good condition, however there is obvious wear as you can see from the pictures. Old Iron Lock & Key for Antique Pine/Oak Blanket Box/Chest/Trunk/Coffer
Here for sale is an old iron lock with its original working key suitable to use on an old pine blanket box or trunk. It measures 3 1/2 inches wide. 2 1/2 inches high and 3/4 inch depth. The measurement from the top face to the centre of the key is 1 1/4 inch. The key measures 2 5/8 inches long. The main body of the lock housing the workings is 7/16 inch thick. The top face is 3/4 inch. Please note. The receiver isn't the original to the lock. It fits fine but when locked it doesn't lock tight. I have taked a picture of it upside down to show the small gap when locked.

Antique Primitive Pine Sugar Chest with Bracket Feet Lock Americana Trunk Brown
This lovely primitive sugar chest came out of an old house here in Savannah. Georgia. It was found lined with a layer of newspaper dating from 1839-1840, so we are guessing this piece dates to the early part of the 1800s. The actual chest appears to be made from pine, which as far as we can tell is a bit unusual for a sugar chest. The box sides/top are all made from one slab of wood, so it is made from old large timber. The chest has one large deep compartment and then a small drawer in the bottom, each with a lock. We do not have the keys to the locks. It has low, simple bracket feet. The hardware is old, but most likely not the original, as the chest came with one of the original knobs loose inside. The knobs that are on there now are similar to the original. It was also painted with a brown wash at some point. The edges are all dovetailed, ... moreand there are old square nails used in the construction. Antique & Primitive Six Board Footed Painted Pine Blanket Chest, Box, Trunk 47"
I get most of my items at estate auctions and sell them in an"as found" condition. I do no repairs. Alterations and very little cleaning. This is done in the belief that most buyers prefer to receive them as original as possible. Because the items I sell can come from anywhere. I can't guarantee they all come from smoke free environments. DESCRIPTION: The existing color is mustard but there are several colors underneath. Including a coat of blue and another coat of salmon. One of those two is probably the original color of the chest. It is not a dove-tailed chest but it's tight and sound. It does have damage on one of the corners of the lid(see photos) and there is some evidence that some gouges on the lid were filled at one time, and not an expert job. The piece is old enough that the the hand plane marks can be felt on ... morethe interior. The piece probably is no more recent than the mid 1800's and could be older. It is about 47" in length, 16" in width and about 17 1/4" in height. It comes straight from a farm barn near Odessa, Missouri. The metal handles are original but the hinges are not and do not match. The lift top is held in place by modern steel H-Hinges and a brass finished rest that keeps it from reclosing unexpectedly. Beautiful aged red wash finish. There are large iron nails holding the chest together that look like they are handmade. This piece is in good condition. Especially considering its age. Circa 1800 Wide Pine Plank Blanket Chest. Missing glove box, but enhanced with a Butternut moulding trim on the lid and skirting. The old milk blue paint makes this a very attractive large dovetailed original chest. The hinges,although correct from that period, are not the original set. The measurements are 18" tall, 20" in width and 46" in length. We are in Central NY, so unless you are willing to pay for crating, the only way to get this chest will be a mutual meeting. We are willing to travel to Albany or Binghamton or Utica areas for pick-up/delivery. If you are planning a visit to the Central NY during the summer months, we would hold the chest until then.

We're only selling it as our expanding family needs more room and using such a lovely chest as a cot seemed a shame! It's in great condition with only a few age related nicks that add to the charm. I've no idea how old this chest is but it certainly has some age to it- must be a hundred/ hundred& fifty years old? Finished in a lovely golden"antique wax" polish it has three internal compartments; two slide-out drawers and one longer section with a hinged lid. As you'll doubtless notice from the photos the previous owner seems to have kept horsey items in it as it has coloured ropes fixed inside the lid. Antique English Country Chest, Pine, late 18th early 19th
I had to have an English country chest for this spot. I have it in a corner with a TV on the top. It came to me with the cracks you see and hasn't gotten any worse in my house. The drawers work. But not that smooth to pull in and out. It is really pretty and charming. I paid $2000 for it in Kensington at the antique store that imports English chests. It is late 18th early 19th century according to them. The color is very nice, light. If you are interested, bid soon as I will be moving and will sell everything to an estate person or to an auction house.

UP for sale we offer a large Antique American Pine Trunk with dovetail construction. This trunk was owned by Tony Orlando(see below) This steamer shipping trunk has a hinged domed lid painted with"Bremen and New York" in black letters. The trunk opens to reveal a small raised compartment on the interior left side. There are some cedar shavings that are still present in the trunk. The large storage piece has its original wrought iron handles and having brass pull and escutcheon to front. The Trunk measures 31"H x 45.75"W x 23.5"D. We put the date to early 1820's to mid 19th century. The Trunk's condition has overall surface wear& scratches. We have not yet waxed this piece and offer it in it's"as found" condition. There is a small loss to edge of lid on right side, and having a seam separation ... moreto trunk lid which doesn't effect its function.We will be cleaning this trunk and giving it a polish before it leaves. Modern castors were added by the previous collector which can easily be replaced or removed. This trunk has a great history. It is grain painted and has painted grapes and gold scrolling over each drawer. There is some wear to the piece as would be normal for a piece of this age. Which is from the 19th century. The paint color is still very bright and beautiful. The drawers slide in and out quite well. It appears to originally have had two glove boxes on the top but they are no longer there. Victorian pine? chest measures approx 26"x 19" and is 12" tall it is papered on the inside with newspapers which date from the 1860s there is a handle at either end and the top opens up it has a key hole in the front unfortunately no key! it has not been restored but is full of potential I had intended to wax it as it is and use it as a low coffee table obviously it has age related wear but it is a sturdy.
