Offered for bids is an early 19th century Sheraton chest of drawers measuring 42 ½” high& 40” wide. Top measures 40 ½” wide& is 19 ¾“ deep with an appropriate rear over hang. Four graduated drawers with matching flame veneered fronts. I suspect this might be walnut but may also be a brown mahogany. Bought out of Reading PA. All drawers are dovetailed& beaded. The drawers runners are worn but run smoothly. There is some small chipping to the beading. One of the balls of the right front foot has a chip. Retains its locks. Brasses are replacements. Evidence of other pulls. The chest has been refinished at least once. There are some cross grain scratches on the sides from previous stripping. I am listing a variety of nice estate-fresh Antique and Vintage Items this week. Here is an ANTIQUE 19THC CHILD'S SIZE FLAT-TOP TRUNK with NICE LEATHER HANDLE ON TOP. Trunk is 19-1/2"W x 12-3/4"D x 11-3/4"H. As you see it. Some of the original decorative paper on outside is missing. Don't know if this one ever had an interior tray or not- I don't see any evidence of it. The two locking clasps work fine. No key for lock. The side strap on inside for holding lid up is torn away from one end. Some rustiness on metal strappings. Interior with typical attic-type musty smell. Charming little trunk. This Auction is for an Antique 19th Century Pine Primitive Shabby White Trunk/Chest That Is Hand Dovetailed& Square Nailed. It measures approximately 34" wide by 19" tall by 17" deep and is in good solid usable condition other than it is painted white on the outside and black on the inside- there is a piece of wood missing on the bottom edge of the base board on the left side- it should refinish nicely or is usable as it is.

Complete with origional soft leather travel cover- very rare find, the stiching is loose on one corner. The bottles all match and are origional, one bottle has a chipped collar, the other are in good order. There is some minor rubbing to the edges of the silver plated lids, nothing major and commensurate with age. There is a secret compartment for jewels, this is accessed by pulling out the pin in the box. The lock is fully functional and has origional key. The velvet lining is a deep green colour. The lid drops down to reveal a storage space for a mirrior, which is no longer with ... morethe set. Material Hardwood. Possibly rosewood. Glass and silver plated bottles. Soft leather travel cover. The paper lined inside is still clean and the trunk itself is sturdy and complete. It has a slight kidney shape ... moreand measures 18 wide by 16 tall by 32 long and weighs 30 pounds. We have posted closeup photographs so you can see that overall this trunk is in very doo condition. There a couple of separation and tears to the black oil cloth covering. But the hinges are strong and the lock is complete. Sorry there is no key. With a little restoration you can make this circa-1850s trunk into a wonderful display item that you can store in.
