PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR POTTERY HEAD FRAGMENT JAMACOAQUE This is a very expressive piece of authentic Pre Columbian pottery with a very realistic face almost ... moreGrecian looking. Very heavily lidded eyes in a peaceful expression. The figure is wearing a headdress that is more like a cap over the hair with decorative earrings that have deep notches with some remaining red paint. Hopefully these are not the ears. It looks like button earrings in front and the figure has a nose ring and a lip plug. The back shows the remains of part of a necklace. It measures 2 1/2 inches high and will stand upright by itself as the circular base with a hole in it is flat. The head is hollow and has evidence of heavy black mineral deposits on one side. Basic clay color is a gray beige. There are also traces of red paint on the face. Keep in mind that this is not a burnished surface and the texture is rough and the close up photos are to show condition. At a regular viewing distance the head seems more normal looking and the condition is very good with very little damage and no repairs. It is from a private collection and is Jamacoaque culture.

Pre Columbian Bird Vessel!! Very interesting markings and design!! Lovely Piece!
This wonderful Pre-Columbian Bird vessel is an antiquity of the Americas. It was bought in the early 90's from a dealer in California that specialized in Pre-Columbian Antiquities. A very lovely piece and interesting design. Shape and markings. There is one very small chip on the side of the vessel hole shown in the second picture. I would say this is great condition for something that has been buried underground for hundreds and hundreds of years. Great Colors. Markings, and Design. Buyer Pays shipping and handling cost. A Stunning Pre-Columbian Nazca Polychrome Vase Depicting an Abstract Bird. Peru, ca. A.D. 100-600. This painted ceramic vessel with wide rim. PRE COLUMBIAN - MOCHE culture "DOUBLE FLYING BIRD" pendant, ca. 100 to 800 AD
A very neat looking pre-Spanish contact(pre-Columbian) stylized double sided flying bird pendant carved from orange spondylous shell. Sourced from coastal Peru, probably Moche culture dating from about 100 to 800 AD, but possibly Lambayeque or Sican, dating as late as 1400 AD. T he condition is mostly good. Showing great age and wear overall, about 19 mm(about 3/4 inch) wide, by about 19 mm tall, and 4 mm in thickness. The flat style pendant has a suspension hole on each side of the back that pierces the back near the corners and comes out through the narrow sides(so the suspension holes cannot be seen from the front) The holes are at the bottom sides of the bird. Upside down from what we might think. The early Peruvian peoples often strung pendants this way(or sewed them on their clothes) apparently caring more about seeing it themselves ... morethan from another's point of view. Please check the dimensions. Most photographs have been enlarged, and may look larger than the size of the actual items. Colors may appear somewhat different in the viewer’s computer than the item is in person. We will consider combining shipping on multiple purchases depending on the items, please contact us for details. We welcome INTERNATIONAL SALES. If you have questions. We can speak or translate many other languages, including Spanish, French and Japanese. However due to delivery issues, packages to Asia must be shipped by some form of express mail, usually about $50 in cost, other international packages can use Priority mail International a cost of about $25. Pre-columbian Bead Lot Mayan Inca Aztec Peru Bird Human Effigies Gold ? Turquois
A very interesting collection of beads brought from Peru by a missionary in the early 1950's. I am not sure what age or time period they would be from. The stone beads appear to be from several different materials. The large ones are possibly turquoise or jade. The gold beads and effigies are of stamped metal. It's possible they have some gold content or are gold washed. As they show little signs of tarnish. I counted well over 300 beads total. The strand measures about 15" long. The face effigy measures 0.95" by 1.36" Please view our other auctions being listed over the next few days. We will be dispersing many artifacts from several recent collection acquisitions. Inca Treasures INC Pre Columbian Chimu bird pottery, effigy vessel, artifact COA
This is a great piece of rare Chimu art with two birds looking over their shoulder. There appears to be a tiny monkey sitting against the spout. Authentic piece of Pre Columbian pottery vessel with unusual form. Good condition with the usual surface scratches. There is a small 1 inch chip or crack behind one bird' swing but not full thickness. The black ware seems enhanced by a brownish tint in places on the glaze. Great collectors item from Peru. The Chimus came along just before the Incas and were defeated by the Incas but left wonderful art. Ht. 9 inches. Width and length 6 inches. Pre-Columbian brown bird looking down procession. Guaranteed .Authentic
NOTE: $3.50 COVERS ALL SHIPPING. REGARDLESS OF NUMBER OF BEADS OR DESTINATION In the 1960's a large number of caches of brown and black incised beads. Or spindle whorls, were found in digs of the Manabi culture of Ecuador. Dated 500 B.C. to 500 A.D. The greatest numbers were simply decorated with circles. Dots and lines. Instead of those we collected those with the artistic renderings of the running. Swimming, crawling, slithering, flying, and walking creatures that inhabited the jungles of Ecuador some 2000 years ago. Each is uniquely distinctive, and with a little imagination they make beautiful necklaces. Earrings and bracelets. All were filled with a clay- like substance that accentuated the incised designs. We are offering a selection of these. The finest we've seen, and selected from thousands. It is believed that the larger ... moreones were spindle whorls. And the smaller ones strung as beads. This is a black bird looking down bead. Showing both sides. 11.62 mm. x 10.31 mm. For descriptions. We are following information from the two books on the beads. Frederick W. PRE COLUMBIAN AUTHENTIC ECUADOR OWL BIRD POTTERY FIGURE
PRE COLUMBIAN OWL FIGURE FROM ECUADOR A rather realistic pottery owl figure. Authentic pre columbian and not a reproductionl. From a private collection. It measures 4 inches high and is 2 1/4'inches across the chest. There is a 1/2 inch hole in the top of the head that seems to large for a firing hole and may suggest this is some kind of container. There are also two larger round circles on the back that suggest the possibility of a handle. The figure is hollow from the top to the bottom. It is free standing and has the head looking at a downward angle. Very detailed eyes and beak with two circles on each side of the head suggesting something is missing. It has two complete wings but part of the tail is missing as well as a portion of the feet. The color of the clay is light tan all over with scattered deposits. There is also a small ... morecrack under the base of the tail n the back. Even with this damage the figure is quite complete and in one piece with no repairs. It was in with La Tolita and Jamacoaque fragments but I cannot possitively identify the culture as I am not an expert.

pre-Columbian bird man figure ceramic wTL test Doc! Mayan pottery Priest RARE
You are bidding on a ceramic of the Maya culture in the form of a bird. It is also possible that it is a bird man. A priest in the bird costume. Striking is the upscale head, a position of power, and the large comb headdress. The massive bill is the reference to a bird of prey. Originally a pipe, through the centuries a hole on the belly is created. The surface is changed due to age, scratches and crashes. Maya ceramics are highly sought after, partly because many have not received as many ceramics, as in the Peruvian cultures that are part of the basic climatic conditions and often sacrificed to the Mayan ceramics by ritual destruction. Pre-Columbian Terracotta Bird Shaped Flute ~ From an old collection!
Greeting Fellow Kollectors! Up for sale are from my most recent finds! This beautiful antique hand carved Haida wooden mask came from a wonderful estate of a man who was described by his widow as a'an amateur Indian Jones of sorts' He was an early film documentary film maker who travelled and explored all over the world and hence where his extensive collection of interesting and amazing artifacts came from. This terracotta flute was told to me to be Pre-Columbian in origin as the original owner had a vast collection of such artifacts. Collected in the 50's and 60's. It has a wonderful patina and is carved with by a skilled artisan hand. The item looks very ancient and there are no signs of modern tooling. I am not an expert and have no paper work to accompanying any of the pieces from this collection. But based on the story ... moreof the former owner's widow, I believe them to be old. Please use your own judgement before bidding: Approx. 3 x3" I have listed many more incredible pieces from this kollection:

PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR BIRD AUTHENTIC ZOOMORPHIC JAMACOAQUE 300 B C - 1000 A.D.
PRE COLUMBIAN JAMACOAQUE BIRD FIGURE ECUADOR This is an authentic ancient pottery Pre Columbian bird figure from Ecuador from a private collection. This highly stylized zoomorphic bird creature is approximately 3 1/3 inches high and 4 1/2 inches long. It has a highly decorated ruff around the neck much like the Andean Condor. The beak is in the form of a mouth with teeth and a red protruding wide dog like tongue. The back of the head has what resembles side lappets on many of the heads of figures. There are three raised dots on the tail. The figure will stand alone but tips easily and will need to be mounted. The tips of the wings are missing and a section of the tail. Small rim chip on the ruff around the head. It is missing feet and there are two approx 1 inch circles where it was either attached or had feet. There is another circle behind ... morethe other 2. Clay shows black deposits from burial and age. Basic clay color seems to be beige. A bit of red paint remaining mostly on the tongue with a few of the circles on the ruff showing tinges of red. There is also what seems to be a horn like projection between the eyes with a tiny chip on the end. This figure was in with La Tolita and mostly Jamacoaque fragments from a private collection. These ancient cultures often represented animal and birds with attributes existing only in supernatural beliefs thus creating many abstract forms some easily identified and others not. I have not found this bird creature in my research and do not know what it represents. Although not museum quality this figure has excellent detail and is in very good condition. Lighting in the photographs makes some areas appear darker.
