Authentic Pennsylvania Railroad Company cancelled stock certificate issued in the 1950's and 1960's. This is a real certificate. Not a copy or reproduction. The certificate has a beautiful vignette of the famous horseshoe curve in the center with allegorical figures on either side. The horseshoe curve's importance to railroad traffic in the U.S. was such that the Nazi's attempted to sabotage it in Operation Pastorius during World War II. The curve was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1966. Certificate would make a fine addition to your collection or a great gift. Historic and authentic Pittsburgh. Youngstown and Ashtabula Railway Company cancelled preferred stock certificate dated in the 1960's. This is an original certificate, not a copy or reproduction. Stock has a beautiful vignette of a steam train going over a small bridge with a man on a horse watching the train and a country setting in the background. The Pittsburgh, Youngstown and Ashtabula was formed in the 1800's and eventually became a part of the Pennsylvania RR and Penn Central. These certificates are actually signed by hand, which is unusual for this period of time. The certificate offered is in very good/excellent condition for its age and has the normal punch cancellation and staple holes. Authentic and rare Packard Motor Company stock certificate dated in the early 1950's. This is a real. Original stock certificate and is unique via the person/entity it is issued to, its issue date and the stock serial number. The vignette is a female and two male allegorical figures at her sides. Packard was an American luxury automobile marque built by the Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan, and later by the Studebaker-Packard Corporation of South Bend, Indiana. The first Packard automobiles were produced in 1899 and the last in 1958. Packard was founded by James Ward Packard(Lehigh University, Class of 1884) William Doud Packard and their partner, George Lewis Weiss, in the city of Warren, Ohio. James Ward believed that they could build a better horseless carriage than the Winton cars owned by Weiss(an important Winton stockholder) ... moreand, being himself a mechanical engineer, had some ideas for improvement on the designs of current automobiles. ARCO Atlantic Richfield gas oil authentic issued stock certificate part of BP
Authentic stock certificate of Atlantic Refining(ARCO) issued in the 1960's/1970's. This is an original certificate. Not a copy or reproduction. Atlantic Richfield Company(ARCO) is an American oil company with operations in the United States as well as in Indonesia, the North Sea, and the South China Sea. It has more than 1,300 gas stations in the western part of the United States. ARCO was originally formed by the merger of East Coast-based Atlantic Refining and California-based Richfield Oil Corporation in 1966. A subsequent merger in 1969 brought in Sinclair Oil Corporation. It became a subsidiary of UK-based British Petroleum(BP) in 2000 through its BP West Coast Products LLC(BPWCP) affiliate. The stock has anttractive vignette depicting an allegorical figure with oil wells and refineries in the background. Baltimore & Ohio B&O Railroad Co authentic stock certificate monopoly RR!!
Authentic Baltimore and Ohio(B&O) Railroad stock certificate issued in the 1950's and 1960's. This is an original certificate. Not a copy or reproduction. The company was chartered in 1827 and in it's prime its routes ran east to Philadelphia and New York and West to Chicago and St. Louis. The B&O was the oldest US passenger line and is best known as one of the Monopoly game railroad stocks. Abe Lincoln wrote the Gettysburg address on a line bought by the B&O. It became part of the Chessie system(Chesapeake& Ohio and Baltimore& Ohio) which in 1980 became part of CSX transportation. The vignette is of a Tom Thumb train with a harbor scene in the background. New York Central Railroad authentic stock gold mortgage bond certificate
New York Central Railroad Company issued and cancelled $10.000 gold mortgage bond certificate issued in February 1932. This is an authentic certificate, not a copy or reproduction. The certificate has a beautiful engraved lithographic vignette of an old steam locomotive with a harbor scene, a bridge and factories in the background. The bond is unusual in that it is payable in the Gold Coin of the United States upon maturity in 1998. The Troy and Greenbush Railroad was chartered in 1845 and opened later that year, connecting Troy south to East Albany on the east side of the Hudson River. The Hudson River Railroad was chartered May 12, 1846, to extend this line south to New York City; the full line opened October 3, 1851. Prior to completion, on June 1, the Hudson River leased the Troy and Greenbush. Historic and authentic Reading Railroad Company cancelled stock certificate dated in the 1960's to early 1970's. Officially the Philadelphia and Reading Rail Road and then the Philadelphia and Reading Railway until 1924, operated in southeast Pennsylania and neighboring states. Until the decline in anthracite loadings in the Coal Region after World War II, it was one of the most prosperous corporations in the United States. Reduced coal traffic coupled with highway competition and short hauls forced it into bankruptcy in the 1970s. 1915 Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad authentic stock certificate
Authentic Chicago. Rock Island and Pacific Railroad Company stock certificate dated in 1915. These are so old that they are signed by the officers of the company(no facsimiles) and many are filled out by hand as well. Certificate has a great vignette of a steam engine and is hand signed. This same certificate is'on sale' at a major antique website for $60. Originally chartered in Illinois on February 27. 1848, as the Rock Island and LaSalle Rail Road Company, the road was renamed Chicago and Rock Island Rail Road Company on February 7, 1851, and Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad Company in 1866. In Texas the Rock Island operated 633 miles of main track plus joint ownership of the Burlington-Rock Island. Three main Rock Island routes crossed the state. The Midcontinent Route ran from Minneapolis-St. Paul to Fort Worth and Dallas ... moreand, with the Burlington-Rock Island, to Houston and Galveston. The other two main lines connected with the Southern Pacific at Tucumcari, New Mexico, to form through routes to the Pacific Coast. These were the Golden State Route, running from Chicago and Kansas City through Dalhart, and the Choctaw Route, which ran from Memphis and Oklahoma City through Amarillo. In addition to its Texas routes, the Rock Island also served the major railroad centers of St. Louis, Missouri, and Denver, Colorado. Two of the named passenger trains of the Rock Island operating across Texas were the Twin Star Rocket and the Golden State Limited. The Rock Island acquired thirty-nine miles of the Wichita Falls and Southern Railroad between Graham and South Hanlon in 1955. But abandoned this line in 1969. The Rock Island had acquired a 50 percent interest in what later became the Burlington-Rock Island in 1906. The B-RI was operated separately until 1964, when it was merged into the parent companies. This allowed the Rock Island direct access to the Houston and Galveston markets.
