Here offered from a long time private collection is a RARE PARLOR"STOVE TOP FINIAL HUMIDIFIER" Has a pat date of April 19. 1881. These were ... morea parlor stove accessory that you would use in place of the standard top finial during heating season. You would then fill it with water and it worked as a humidifier when the stove was being used) This hard to find item is in great antique used condition for it's age. The cast iron part is very ornate with nicely embossed detail. It is perfect with no cracks. No rust, no damage, no repairs. The brass reservoir is also very nice with only some"very minor" dings from the back side. The brass fluted base has no damage. Overall this item measures 10" high. 8 3/4" wide. And has a base diameter of 2 7/8" The water basin diameter is at 5" Please see the many photos of this very interesting item for further accurate description.
