PRE COLUMBIAN POTTERY WHISTLE ECUADOR AUTHENTIC This is a large authentic Pre Columbian pottery. Terra cotta, whistle/ ocarina from ecuador. Jamacoaque ... morefrom a private collection dating 350 B C- 1200 A D. This is not a reprodution. The front has a human head on what sems to be the front of a jaguar with paw feet. It tapers to a rounded point and has a handle. The face has excellent detail with deep set eyes with brow ridges, earrings, very prominent nose ring and an open mouth with pointed teeth. The teeth give it a rather frightening appearance no doubt intentional. The nose is not damaged but obscured by the thick nose ring that hangs down onto the top lip. The head with a headdress and side lappets. There is a hole at the back end and one in back of the head. The body is clear but I believe there is still debris in the head as IT WILL NOT TWEET. I did not want to try to dislodge debris and damage the holes. It measures 4 1/2 inches long and approx 4 1/4 inches high and rests on two paw feet. Clay color is a buff color not quite as dark as in the photos. I am saying Jamacoaque but it was in with Jamacoaque and also La Tolita fragments and I am not an expert. It is in very good condition with some chips to the side lappets that are not evident from the front but I have the damage pictured. I see evidence of an old repair or restoration on the front legs as there is a thin line that extends over to the back(see photos) However. I do not see evidence of a clean break all around and I do not see any type of glue in the lines. The clay color is very consisent and the restoration or repair was done a long time ago in Ecuador and not by the private collector who brought them back years ago. There seems to be no evidence of trying to hide the breaks unless they were cracks and the piece was not broken or separated. Other pieces in the collection had repairs and evidence of glue and some of these are in my other listings. I have close up photos of the lines or breaks that i have darkened a bit in the photos to show

PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR POTTERY HEAD FRAGMENT JAMACOAQUE This is a very expressive piece of authentic Pre Columbian pottery with a very realistic face almost ... moreGrecian looking. Very heavily lidded eyes in a peaceful expression. The figure is wearing a headdress that is more like a cap over the hair with decorative earrings that have deep notches with some remaining red paint. Hopefully these are not the ears. It looks like button earrings in front and the figure has a nose ring and a lip plug. The back shows the remains of part of a necklace. It measures 2 1/2 inches high and will stand upright by itself as the circular base with a hole in it is flat. The head is hollow and has evidence of heavy black mineral deposits on one side. Basic clay color is a gray beige. There are also traces of red paint on the face. Keep in mind that this is not a burnished surface and the texture is rough and the close up photos are to show condition. At a regular viewing distance the head seems more normal looking and the condition is very good with very little damage and no repairs. It is from a private collection and is Jamacoaque culture.

Non Pre Columbian Ecuador tagua necklace and bracelot, pottery, relic, beads
Really pretty big bead item imported from Ecuador by me a year ago. These are tagua beads. Or the seeds of a large nut that is exctracted, colored with dyed and then made into a variety of jewelry products. The bright colors are typical of South American folk art and other clothing. The dyes are all made from natural substances. This one has so many lovely colors it could be your big bead item for many occasions. It comes with a bracelet to match. The Tagua as many of the traditions, have been used for centuries to make jewelry and items for gifts, adornment, or ceremonial or burial over many years. Made by local artisans. length about.28 inches provenence; Ecuador my purchase. It is a striking piece and the black spots on the beads are a part of the sead used for the bead. Not your usual fare. Pre-Columbian Tumaco La Tolita Ceramic Head Colombia Ecuador
For your Bidding Consideration in this Auction is a Pre-Columbian Ceramic Head from the La Tolita Culture in the Tumaco Region. The region encompassed areas of both Ecuador and Colombia so placing the exact location is normally difficult. The head measures@ 8 1/2" tall and showcases the classic ritually deformed head shape with pierced ears having Ear Spools. A snake is seen protruding from the mouth and wrapped around to the top of the head. There is a hole in the back of the head and both Ear Spools appear to have been repaired at some point(see photos) that is not noticeable from the front and really only noticeable if you turn it around and then upside down. The head rests on a custom made wooden stand which is included in the auction. The right side of the forehead has red paint on the frontal lobe which has faded with time. Please ... morenote. PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR NECKLACE OF SPINDLE WHORLS BEADS ANCIENT
PRE COLUMBIAN NECKLACE ECUADOR SPINDLE WHORLS ANCIENT Spindle whorls used in textile production are linked to female activityand female identity. Some have aritual significance also and this necklace seems to have a baby wrapped in a blanket hanging from the bottom. I do not know if this was the original arrangement or not as it has been restrung on knotted modern black cord with the"baby" hanging from mono filament loop. This 19 inch necklace is composed of 24 pottery clay spindle whorls from anient Ecuador. It is from a private collection and the owner purchased it in Ecuador in this condition many years ago. The necklace was in with La Tolita fragments 300 B.C. 500 A.D. and some Jamacoaque fragments 500 A.D. to 1000 A.D. so I cannot positivitely identify the culture. The whorls have been strung mostly alternating bell shaped ... moreand round disks some with incised designs and a few(2) ball shaped whorls. Many bell shaped whorls have original red pigment with the larger ones measuring 1 1/8 inch wide and one at 1 1/4 inches wide. About 7 have damage and are chipped but retain their original shape and I have tried to picture some. The remainiing 17 are in excellent condition considering the age with no or very little visible damage. The"baby" as I call it measures 3 inches long and is smooth on the back. You can see the face and arms but the body seems trussed. 1?RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Feog4d72f%2B%3E%3B1%3F-146a88a8a1f-0x113-
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR NECKLACE SPINDLE WHORLS AUTHENTIC 20 INCHES
PRE COLUBIAN ECUADOR NECKLACE SPINDLE WHORLS AUTHENTIC Eight very detailed small spindle whorls approximately the size of a nickle coin fashioned into a 20" long necklace. Purchased from a private U.S. collection and in with La Tolita and Jamacoaque fragments. these spindle whorls are authentic Pre Columbian. The white round beads and green small beads are fashioned out of some white chalky substance with a slick shiney coating. At first the green beads resembled stone but one is chipped and the green coating is off and the same white chalk like substance is underneath. See the photogrtaph. The green beads show lots of debris as do the spndle whorls but I cannot say what or how old they are as this has been restrung with contemporary white string and a silver metal hook. The round crystal beads are definitely contemporary in my opinion ... morebut added to make a wearable necklace. The small greenish stone figure at the bottom resembles some kind of animal either real or mythical with what appears to be large ears and three fingered hands and toes It is 1 1/4 inches high and looks authentic and has tiny crystaline inclusions that reflect the light. Much of the ancient pottery I have has these inclusions also but old stone is old stone. I am not an expert and will guarantee only that the spindle whorls are authentic and if the rest is so much the better. Exellent condition with only some of the round chalk like and green beads having chips. The spindle whorls are not damaged and have lots of debris in the lines which has been retained.

It is a Seated Lord figure. Very difficult to find from Ecuador cultures. This is a very unique piece and could easily be seen in a museum collection. Inca Treasures Pre Columbian well made reproduction art vessel artifact Ecuador
Vintage pre Columbian well done reproduction of an Ecuador vessel with hands holding the head of deity. Warrior or other figure. Typing Made in Ecuador from a very old typewriter. Made in Ecuador. Found in estate sale collection. This is a folk indigenous Ecuador reproduction but the shop I found it in knew little of its origin and only that it came with an estate collection. But it appears to have root markings and black clouds. A good piece for the Pre Columbian buff to get a paper weight or pencil jar with unusual décor. Heavier item so mailing is higher. Culture: Ecuador. Possibly Bahia origin Ca: unknown but likely pre 1955 from typing. Size: 61/2 in. Tall. 4 inches at rim, and 51/2 inches at widest width of figure. Purchased from Estate sale. PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR POLYCHROME HEAD FRAGMENT AUTHENTIC 4 1/2 " POTTERY
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR FRAGMENT HEAD POLYCHROME ANCIENT This is an authentic(not a reproduction) ancient pre columbian polychrome head fragment from Ecuador. In close inspection there are traces of black manganese deposits and what appears to be tiny crystals in the clay. These are so small you almost need a jewelers loupe to see them but they reflect in the light. The clay is a yellowish color with original red paint on the face and one side. The top of the head is arched backward as you can see from the side view. It is missing the long piece of what appears to be a headdress on the right side but the rest of the head seems in excellent condition. There is a hole in the top of the head on the edge still with soil in it and you can see the debris still in the mouth and eyes. The head is hollow. It measures 4 1/2 inches over the top of the ... morehead to the chin. 2 3/4" across the crown with the face itself is 2 x 1 1/2" The opening on the underside allows the figure to be suspended and mounted. It is suspended i on a lucite stand only to display and photograph it in the upright position as it will not stand on its own. The nose has a long rounded cut underneath that seems intentional as I have other figures with the nose the same making the it protrude. This appears to be a female head with earrings. It is very three dimensional when viewed from the side with heavy lidded yes. I am not an expert and cannot positively identify the culture but it was in a private collection with La Tolita fragments. La Tolita was in Northern Ecuador between 300 B.C.and 200 A.D. in the Period of Regional Development. Please free to ask questions and look carefully at my photographs for details.

It measures 2 1/2" from top to elbow. 2" top of head to chin with the top of the head 1 3/4' across. He or she is holding a hand to the face as if possibly indicating a toothache. Large rounded eyes with the left showing some damage. Ear spools and a nose ring and a decorated ruffle or necklace around the neck. The clay is gray with tiny reflecting crystal formations imbedded in the clay. The head shows the typical La Tolita ritual deformation. It is hollow with a hole in tha back. La Tolita approximate dates are 300 B.C TO 500 A.D.The figure is free standing and the lucite stand is just for photographs. it will stand by itself but will lean to the right as there is no shoulder to support it. PRE COLUMBIAN AUTHENTIC ECUADOR OWL BIRD POTTERY FIGURE
PRE COLUMBIAN OWL FIGURE FROM ECUADOR A rather realistic pottery owl figure. Authentic pre columbian and not a reproductionl. From a private collection. It measures 4 inches high and is 2 1/4'inches across the chest. There is a 1/2 inch hole in the top of the head that seems to large for a firing hole and may suggest this is some kind of container. There are also two larger round circles on the back that suggest the possibility of a handle. The figure is hollow from the top to the bottom. It is free standing and has the head looking at a downward angle. Very detailed eyes and beak with two circles on each side of the head suggesting something is missing. It has two complete wings but part of the tail is missing as well as a portion of the feet. The color of the clay is light tan all over with scattered deposits. There is also a small ... morecrack under the base of the tail n the back. Even with this damage the figure is quite complete and in one piece with no repairs. It was in with La Tolita and Jamacoaque fragments but I cannot possitively identify the culture as I am not an expert.
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR FIGURE POTTERY BIRDMAN SHAMAN JAMACOAQUE AUTHENTIC
PRE COLUMBIAN POTTERY FIGURE ECUADOR JAMACOAQUE Very unusual authentic pottery ploychrome figural depiction of a birdman or Shaman. The figure is wearing a feathered costume taking on the image of a bird. The head has a headdress with long side lappets that are not broken. He is wearing a nose ring and a necklace with a pendent that hangs over a feathered vest. The ornate wings have rectangular decorations that seem to have faces in them. There are no visible arms but there are human feet. The figure measures 3 1/2 inches tall and has a wingspan of 4 inches. It stands perfetly flat with the head bent slightly forward looking down. It needs no support to stand as the feet are flat. There is one hole in the base. The back is un decorated and has a broken tail. In spite of the damage the majority of the figure is in excellent condition with ... moreno cracks and nice detail. Some slight rough edges on the top of the head that does not alter the shape. Terra cotta color clay with red and turquoise paint. Jamacoaque 500 A.D. to 1000 A.D. This is not a reproduction and is from a private collection.

PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR HEAD FRAGMENT POTTERY JAMACOAQUE AUTHENTIC
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR POTTERY HEAD FRAGMENT JAMACOAQUE This is a very expressive piece of authentic Pre Columbian pottery with a very realistic face almost Grecian looking. Keep in mind that this is not a ... moreburnished surface and the texture is rough and the close up photos are to show condition. At a regular viewing distance the head seems more normal looking and the condition is very good with very little damage and no repairs. It is from a private collection and is Jamacoaque culture.
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR JAMACOAQUE POTTERY SHAMAN FIGURE SITTING MALE AUTHENTIC
PRE COLUMBIAN POTTERY SHAMAN MALE FIGURE JAMACOAQUE This figure is an authentic Pre Columbian figure of a seated Shaman from Ecuador attributed to the Jamacoaque culture dating from 500 A.D. 1000 A.D. I am not an expert and there are so many variations on the dates. The figure is 6 inches tall and approximately 3 inches across the shoulders and is seated on a round pedestal seat with a diameter of 1 5/8 inches. Nice detail on the head and face surrounded by a headdress missing one corner. The figure has the tongue sticking out in a grotesque expression and is wearing a necklace and an elaborate costume. There are bracelets on the wrists snd ankles. It looks like some sort of cloth apron covering the front of the figure. Color of the clay is a light tan throughout with scattered dark areas of mineral deposit. The clay also has tiny reflective ... morecrystal formations. I have darkened the first images to show detail. It will stand by itself only briefly as I have only supported it for one side photo. It will definitely need support for display as the front of the left leg is missing. You can see that the remaining back of the right foot holds the figure erect with the head bent slightly forward as only the front part of the foot is missing. Part of the fingers on the right hand are missing and the right leg with part of the apron attached has been glued on. Not too bad a job as the edges meet. Refer to the close up photos. There is a large hole in the top of the head and two round circles where something is definitely missing. No damage to the remainder of the body with a few nicks here and there on some edges to be expected. Even with this damage it is an impressive figure that will display nicely as is on a stand or possibly a candidate for professional resotration if you so desire. PRE COLUMBIAN ANIMAL HEADS ( TWO ) FRAGMENTS ECUADOR POTTERY AUTHENTIC
PRE COLUMBIAN ANIMAL HEAD FRAGMENTS ECUDAOR AUTHENTIC You are bidding on two( 2) Pre Columbian authentic animal head fragments from ancient Ecuador. The larger one in a beige color clay measures approximately 2 inches from ear to ear( if those are ears) and about 2 inches high. The clay has been spiraled around to look like ears but there is a piece in one remaining that is broken indicating something is missing. There is 1 tooth in the and you can see where 3 more have broken off. The eyes are open to the inside of the head that is hollow. he cheeks are depresed inward.I do not know what kind of animal this represents but hopefully it is not a pet as it would be a rather ugly dog. Also not everyone was an accomplished sculptor. It will mount straight up but sitting on the tabletop in the photos you can se it tilts as one side of the broken ... moreneck is high than the other. The other figure is in gray clay and is missing one ear. The other ear has a slight chip. It has a rather large intentional hole in the back of the head and of course it is broken at the neck. It is 2 1/4 inches from the ear to the nose and stands 2 3/8 inches high. The mouth is open giving it a rather pleasant expression. This could be a dog but it has a flat upturned pig like nose. Both pieces are from a priovate collection and most of the fragments were La Tolita 200 B.C. 500 A.D. and Jamacoaque 500 B.C TO 1000 A.D. but because of the subject it is difficult to put them in any one culture and I am not an expert in this type of pottery.
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR POTTERY HEAD FRAGMENT POLYCHROME 4 INCHES JAMACOAQUE
PRE COLUMBIAN POTTERY FRAGMENT HEAD ECUADOR Very well detailed polychrome pottery head fragment from Ecuador from a private collection. It measures 4 inches high and is 3" wide across the top of the head. Remainder of red slip gloss paint on the headdress. It has heavy lidded eyes that project outward. Nose ring and ear adornments. The head is arched backward and the back is a high glass black brown tone. Side pieces are missing but the head is in excellent condition. The nose phtographs flattened on the end but it is not and the nose ring is very heavy looking and rounded which destorts the nose. This figure has not been cleaned so there is still dirt and debris that you can see in the photos. It is solid and can be drilled for mounting as it will not stand by itself. I believe this is Jamacoque or possibly La Tolita. Clay has glistening ... moreminute crystal formations that reflect ih the light. I am not an expert in this type of pottery so please look carefully at the photographs and feel free to ask questions.
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR BIRD WHISTLE POTTERY OCARINA AUTHENTIC
PRE COLUMBIAN BIRD WHISTLE ECUADOR This is an authentic Pre Columbian pottery bird whistle from Ecuador and not a reproduction. It measures 3 inches from the bill to the tail and is approximately 2 1/2 inches high. It is free standing level on two feet and balanced by the flat wide tail. Two bulging eyes and to dots(sears) on the top of the bill. One side of the bill has a chip but it is long and does not alter the shape of the bill. The wings are folded back against the body with some minor rough edges on the front tips. Overall condition is very good with no body damage and no repairs. The two holes are perfectly round and not chipped. One on the bottom and one in the tail to blow through to make it whistle. It has a mellow sound as the holes are clear of debris. The figure is hollow. This was in a private collection with La Tolita an Jamacoaque ... morefragments but I am not an expert and cannot positively identify which culture. Age could be anywhere form 300 B.C, to 1000 A.D.

PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR POTTERY HEAD FRAGMENT FEMALE JAMACOAQUE AUTHENTIC
PRE COLUMBIAN POTTERY HEAD FRAGMENT ECUADOR JAMACOAQUE This is a very beautiful female Pre Columbian authentic pottery head fragment from Ecuador. My photos are close up to show detail but the figure looks more detail when viewed from a normal distance. It has remaining red paint on the elongated headdress front and back which has four unidentified three dimensional ornaments. The face has heavily lidded eyes and is wearing ear ornaments and has a collar around the neck. The expression seems very peaceful. One side lappet is missing and the nose and chin have some minor damage. It measures 2 7/8 inches high and 2" across the headdress. The face itself is 1 inch high.Unusual in that the base almost resembles a wine stopper with a rounded section that I have pictured. The fragment will not stand alone because of the rounded base. From a ... moreprivate collection that had Tolita and Jamacoaque head fragments but I believe this is Jamacoaque. Basic clay color seems to be gray as on the one side of the headdress but the face is lighter. There are tiny reflective crystals in the clay. Photos are a bit darker than the fragment. All damage and missing elements are pictured. This is an authentic fragment and not a reproduction.
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR POTTERY FIGURE FEMALE JAMACOAQUE AUTHENTIC 6 1/2 INCHES
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR POTTERY FEMALE FIGURE JAMACOAQUE This an authentic pre columbian figure from Ecuador from a private collection and not a reproduction. It is a light beige clay color with remaining blue paint highlights on the headdress. It is a female figure with a knee length skirt standing on bare feet. The body is adorned with a large necklace and remenents of bracelets and there is a nose ring and what appears to be multiple ear plugs or earrings. The headdress has both long side lappets which most often are broken. It is missing the lower part of one arm and has some damage to the fingers of the outstretched hand. There is also damage to the toes on the inside of one foot foot. Not evident from the front is a small cavity behind one ear. The figure appears to be completely solid with no firing hole. Very nice condition with no ... moredamage to the body. This is nice vertical figure that stands by itself. It measures 6 1/2 inches high and 3 inches across the shoulders. The feet are 2 x 1 3/4 inches allowing the figure to stand upright without support. i am not an expert but believe this is Jamacoaque. 006.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk%600d72f%2B%3E006-147ca326e90-0x113-
REPLICA Pottery Pre Columbian Narino Capuli Shell Amphora Ecuador 1000 AD
REPLICA Pre-Colombian terracotta vessels You are bidding on what I believe to be a pair of antique Pre-Colombian terracotta vessels. I am completely uncertain of their age so I will be selling them as REPLICAS. This amphora and shell are similar in design to pieces that date back 1000 AD to Narino Capuli cultures. I doubt they go that far back, possibly a vintage replica for the tourist market.
