Ancient Pre-Columbian Teotihuacan Green Jade/Nephrite Amulet Figure 600 BCE ex Museum. I was told this was at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York ... moreand was part of a collection sold off. The stand was made specifically for this piece by the museum. It's size and base holes were carved to exact specs so that the figure stands firmly and securely. I'm sure the base cost them a couple hundred dollars alone. It comes with the sale of this piece. This is 100% genuine and is over 2,500 years old. Although the rear looks like it has a crack from the photo, that is NOT a crack. It's a black vein in the rock. This is in museum condition. About 4 and 3/4 inches tall.

Pre-Columbian NICARAGUA/COSTA RICA BOWL LEG HEAD 60mm/2.4" PAINTED Ppd-USA
POSTPAID IN USA! PRE-COLUMBIAN PAINTED CERAMIC HEAD FRAGMENT and BOWL LEG. 60mm or 2-3/8"h, Probably from Nicaragua or Costa Rica One Pre-Columbian Painted Ceramic Head Fragment 60mm or 2-3/8" high. With features that may be that of a monkey with black mask, red mouth and ears. This would have been one of probably 3(making it a tripod bowl) or possibly 4 legs supporting a bowl. It would rest on the chin area and the bowl would be attached on the ridge atop the head and the back of the head(that area is open now) Imagine that ridge on the head as parallel to the ground to see the level that the head would have been at. The bowl would have been 6 to 8 inches in diameter and also painted in similar colors. There is some chipping on the nose, upper lip and under the ears/headdress. Many objects that are offered as from Costa Rica actually ... morecome from Nicaragua as they are similar due to the fact that those people did not have the modern borders as we know them today. The cultures crossed those lines well before they were established. There are a lot of people who collect Costa Rica but not too many collect Nicaragua. There is little difference in cultures along the borders. This is a POSTPAID Lot in the U S A as are ALL of my Ebay Store Lots! Send an email with any questions before bidding or buying please. PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR POLYCHROME HEAD FRAGMENT AUTHENTIC 4 1/2 " POTTERY
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR FRAGMENT HEAD POLYCHROME ANCIENT This is an authentic(not a reproduction) ancient pre columbian polychrome head fragment from Ecuador. In close inspection there are traces of black manganese deposits and what appears to be tiny crystals in the clay. These are so small you almost need a jewelers loupe to see them but they reflect in the light. The clay is a yellowish color with original red paint on the face and one side. The top of the head is arched backward as you can see from the side view. It is missing the long piece of what appears to be a headdress on the right side but the rest of the head seems in excellent condition. There is a hole in the top of the head on the edge still with soil in it and you can see the debris still in the mouth and eyes. The head is hollow. It measures 4 1/2 inches over the top of the ... morehead to the chin. 2 3/4" across the crown with the face itself is 2 x 1 1/2" The opening on the underside allows the figure to be suspended and mounted. It is suspended i on a lucite stand only to display and photograph it in the upright position as it will not stand on its own. The nose has a long rounded cut underneath that seems intentional as I have other figures with the nose the same making the it protrude. This appears to be a female head with earrings. It is very three dimensional when viewed from the side with heavy lidded yes. I am not an expert and cannot positively identify the culture but it was in a private collection with La Tolita fragments. La Tolita was in Northern Ecuador between 300 B.C.and 200 A.D. in the Period of Regional Development. Please free to ask questions and look carefully at my photographs for details.

Circa 200 B.C. 200 A.D. Measures approximately 13 3/4" tall by about 10" wide. This figure displays impressively due to its imposing size, and depicts a female holding a large, tubular drum at her shoulder. She s shown wearing a skirt and head adornment. Drums were employed as an important part of ceremony and ritual in ancient West Mexican cultures, the rhythms from which propelled participants through trance and altered states of consciousness. PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR POTTERY HEAD FRAGMENT POLYCHROME 4 INCHES JAMACOAQUE
PRE COLUMBIAN POTTERY FRAGMENT HEAD ECUADOR Very well detailed polychrome pottery head fragment from Ecuador from a private collection. It measures 4 inches high and is 3" wide across the top of the head. Remainder of red slip gloss paint on the headdress. It has heavy lidded eyes that project outward. Nose ring and ear adornments. The head is arched backward and the back is a high glass black brown tone. Side pieces are missing but the head is in excellent condition. The nose phtographs flattened on the end but it is not and the nose ring is very heavy looking and rounded which destorts the nose. This figure has not been cleaned so there is still dirt and debris that you can see in the photos. It is solid and can be drilled for mounting as it will not stand by itself. I believe this is Jamacoque or possibly La Tolita. Clay has glistening ... moreminute crystal formations that reflect ih the light. I am not an expert in this type of pottery so please look carefully at the photographs and feel free to ask questions.

Lot of 4 Pre-Columbian Beads/Baubles - Western Mexico - 500-900 A.D.
LOT OF 4 PRE-COLUMBIAN TERRACOTTA BEADS/BAUBLES. WESTERN MEXICO, 500-900 A.D. Lot of 4 Pre-Columbian beads/baubles/charm. Western Mexico, most likely Colima, 500-900 A.D. estimated) Authenticity determined by Clars Auction Gallery. Oakland, CA April 2014. AR-C-11) Dimensions and description: The photos are considered the primary item description. Please look carefully. 1. The 3 beads feature various geometric designs. Each has a slightly different earth toned color profile. Each bead averages a little less than 1.25" in diameter. 2. I believe the animal-themed fragment. Or"charm" as I like to call it, is a canine or feline theme for the shape of the body and facial features. You can decide. It was most likely attached to a much larger ornamental piece. It's a bit over 1" tall and is a little less than 3/4" at ... moreits widest point. Very good condition. No field repairs. These would make a great acquisition for a jewelry maker. I'm envisioning a thick woven leather or hemp necklace expertly incorporating the beads. Museum quality packing. Shipping via USPS Priority Mail. More pics happily sent upon request. ABOUT COLIMA. MEXICO: The state was home to a number of pre-Hispanic cultures as part of Western Mexico. Archeological evidence dates human occupation of the area as far back as 1500 BCE. With sites here contemporary with San Lorenzo on the Gulf Coast and Tlatilco in the Valley of Mexico. One period of the area’s development is called the Los Ortices era which began around 500 BCE. During this time the elements which characterize the pre-Hispanic peoples of Colima appear such as shaft tombs and a distinctive ceramic style called“rojo bruñido” or burnished red. The next phase called Comala, covers the time period from around 100 to 600 CE, centered on a site of the same name. Comala people would perfect burnished red pottery and develop representations of people and animals with skill and fluid lines. The best known of these figures are known as the“fattened dogs” The Comala site

Pre-Columbian Pottery Cup 4.75” High I am selling a portion of my family collection that has been in our family for well over 45 years. Double boxed for extra cushioning and excess bubble wrap. These were all aquired by my family while travelling and living in Peru and Bolivia.
