PRE COLUMBIAN POTTERY HEAD FRAGMENT ECUADOR Very unusual authentic pottery head fragment that is difficult to identify as to the subject. It apprears ... moreto be an animal with a long snout. Some of which is missing, and the remains of two horns on the back of the head. Since it is wearing a rather ornate headdress it might be an zoomorphic representation of a Shaman but there is not enough of the figure to make any kind of distinction. The headress has the remains of red paint and there are pieces missing. The cheeks are puffed out, some of the figures have puffed heeks attributed to chewing of coca leaves but that is doubtful for an animal and possible or a Shaman. The clay color is mottled grayish tan. Some fine crystaline deposits evident in the clay. One cheek is depressed as it it were done before firing or collapsed after firing as it is not broken. There is a small firing hole at the top of the head and the head is hollow. It is 2 3/4 inches high and 2 3/4 inches across the front. The base where it is broken is a circle 1 3/4 inches in diameter with a hole that is 3/4 inches in diameter. It will sit flat as it is in most of the photographs or will mount nicely. It was in a private collection from Eccuador with La Tolita and Jamacoaque fragments but since I am not an expert I cannot positively identify the culture or the exact age. These two cultures span from 300 B.C. to 1000 A.D. This is not a reproduction.

PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR POTTERY HEAD FRAGMENT JAMACOAQUE This is a very expressive piece of authentic Pre Columbian pottery with a very realistic face almost ... moreGrecian looking. Very heavily lidded eyes in a peaceful expression. The figure is wearing a headdress that is more like a cap over the hair with decorative earrings that have deep notches with some remaining red paint. Hopefully these are not the ears. It looks like button earrings in front and the figure has a nose ring and a lip plug. The back shows the remains of part of a necklace. It measures 2 1/2 inches high and will stand upright by itself as the circular base with a hole in it is flat. The head is hollow and has evidence of heavy black mineral deposits on one side. Basic clay color is a gray beige. There are also traces of red paint on the face. Keep in mind that this is not a burnished surface and the texture is rough and the close up photos are to show condition. At a regular viewing distance the head seems more normal looking and the condition is very good with very little damage and no repairs. It is from a private collection and is Jamacoaque culture.

Lg Pre-Columbian Pottery Fragment & Unknown Bowl w/ Rat or Mice Motif + Figurine
Here for your consideration is a mixed lot of Pre-Columbian and unknown period pottery. This lot is from a nice collection of authentic pre-Columbian artifacts. I know for certain that the large broken pottery fragment in this lot is pre-Columbian. But I have my doubts about the rat bowl and sitting figurine. The bowl is completely hand made and beautiful, but the condition of the surface seems to be too good. There is dirt in the creases along the rats and looks soiled within, but you'll have to be the judge on this piece. Seems raku fired. The figurine appears to have been possible in the process of restoration? It's a cool little piece, but I do not know the age and cannot guarantee when it was made, so you'll have to be the judge on it too. If you'd like to share your opinions on these two interesting pieces, I like to ... morehear them. The man that amassed the collection that these were a part of, had a thing for authenticity, so I don't think these would have been in his collection if they weren't of some importance. This lot being sold as is as described, no returns. Low opening bid no reserve.

PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR POLYCHROME HEAD FRAGMENT AUTHENTIC 4 1/2 " POTTERY
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR FRAGMENT HEAD POLYCHROME ANCIENT This is an authentic(not a reproduction) ancient pre columbian polychrome head fragment from Ecuador. In close inspection there are traces of black manganese deposits and what appears to be tiny crystals in the clay. These are so small you almost need a jewelers loupe to see them but they reflect in the light. The clay is a yellowish color with original red paint on the face and one side. The top of the head is arched backward as you can see from the side view. It is missing the long piece of what appears to be a headdress on the right side but the rest of the head seems in excellent condition. There is a hole in the top of the head on the edge still with soil in it and you can see the debris still in the mouth and eyes. The head is hollow. It measures 4 1/2 inches over the top of the ... morehead to the chin. 2 3/4" across the crown with the face itself is 2 x 1 1/2" The opening on the underside allows the figure to be suspended and mounted. It is suspended i on a lucite stand only to display and photograph it in the upright position as it will not stand on its own. The nose has a long rounded cut underneath that seems intentional as I have other figures with the nose the same making the it protrude. This appears to be a female head with earrings. It is very three dimensional when viewed from the side with heavy lidded yes. I am not an expert and cannot positively identify the culture but it was in a private collection with La Tolita fragments. La Tolita was in Northern Ecuador between 300 B.C.and 200 A.D. in the Period of Regional Development. Please free to ask questions and look carefully at my photographs for details.
Lot of 3 Pre-Columbian Pottery Fragment Idol Heads
Received these as a gift several years ago from a collector of Meso-American antiquities and art. Not sure of specific provenance on these. But likely Mexico or Central America. First two(from left to right) look like handles, the right-most one is a bit different and seems to be a little heavier. First is 4 inches tall by 3 inches wide, and second and third ones are 3 inches tall by 2 to 3 inches wide. ag6 2.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp73%28c%3Eag6%3E2-146fe0d2aa3-0x111-
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR HEAD FRAGMENT POTTERY JAMACOAQUE AUTHENTIC
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR POTTERY HEAD FRAGMENT JAMACOAQUE This is a very expressive piece of authentic Pre Columbian pottery with a very realistic face almost Grecian looking. Keep in mind that this is not a ... moreburnished surface and the texture is rough and the close up photos are to show condition. At a regular viewing distance the head seems more normal looking and the condition is very good with very little damage and no repairs. It is from a private collection and is Jamacoaque culture.

PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR POTTERY HEAD FRAGMENT POLYCHROME 4 INCHES JAMACOAQUE
PRE COLUMBIAN POTTERY FRAGMENT HEAD ECUADOR Very well detailed polychrome pottery head fragment from Ecuador from a private collection. It measures 4 inches high and is 3" wide across the top of the head. Remainder of red slip gloss paint on the headdress. It has heavy lidded eyes that project outward. Nose ring and ear adornments. The head is arched backward and the back is a high glass black brown tone. Side pieces are missing but the head is in excellent condition. The nose phtographs flattened on the end but it is not and the nose ring is very heavy looking and rounded which destorts the nose. This figure has not been cleaned so there is still dirt and debris that you can see in the photos. It is solid and can be drilled for mounting as it will not stand by itself. I believe this is Jamacoque or possibly La Tolita. Clay has glistening ... moreminute crystal formations that reflect ih the light. I am not an expert in this type of pottery so please look carefully at the photographs and feel free to ask questions.

PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR POTTERY HEAD FRAGMENT FEMALE JAMACOAQUE AUTHENTIC
PRE COLUMBIAN POTTERY HEAD FRAGMENT ECUADOR JAMACOAQUE This is a very beautiful female Pre Columbian authentic pottery head fragment from Ecuador. My photos are close up to show detail but the figure looks more detail when viewed from a normal distance. It has remaining red paint on the elongated headdress front and back which has four unidentified three dimensional ornaments. The face has heavily lidded eyes and is wearing ear ornaments and has a collar around the neck. The expression seems very peaceful. One side lappet is missing and the nose and chin have some minor damage. It measures 2 7/8 inches high and 2" across the headdress. The face itself is 1 inch high.Unusual in that the base almost resembles a wine stopper with a rounded section that I have pictured. The fragment will not stand alone because of the rounded base. From a ... moreprivate collection that had Tolita and Jamacoaque head fragments but I believe this is Jamacoaque. Basic clay color seems to be gray as on the one side of the headdress but the face is lighter. There are tiny reflective crystals in the clay. Photos are a bit darker than the fragment. All damage and missing elements are pictured. This is an authentic fragment and not a reproduction.

PRE COLUMBIAN PENDANT POTTERY FRAGMENT AUTHENTIC STERLING SILVER MOUNTING
PRE COLUMBIAN PENDANT POTTERY FRAGMENT AUTHENTIC Highly unusual pre columbian pottery fragment mounted as a pendant in sterling silver. I am not sure if this is from Ecuador or Mexico as I am not an expert. The head is a fragment with damage to the nose and cheeks evident in the photos. It seems to be female as there are large ear ornaments. I have it photographed from all angles. In close up the small white specks are actually tiny crystals in the pottery and there is also a silvery glaze over parts in the pottery. This is a very nice detailed fragment and looks clearer when photographed further away. A very unusual piece of jewelry I am sure made for someone who collected the piece. I purchased it 30 years ago in an estate. This piece has been professionally mounted on a thick piece of sterling silver with four large prongs and marked STERLING ... moreon the back The top has a sterling bale that measures 3/4 inches high and will accommodate a large chain as the opening is 1/4 inch. The piece measures 2" across and 1 3/4 inches high and has a total weight of 2.31 regular ounces. The wire is not included in the sale but was the best way to display the pendant.
PRE COUMBIAN ECUADOR FEMALE FRAGMENT LARGE JAMACOAQUE AUTHENTIC POTTERY LG 6 "
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR FEMALE POTTERY FRAGMENT JAMACOAQUE This is an authentic Pre Columbian pottery fragment of a female figure Jamacoaque culture 500 B.C. 1000 A.D. It has a burnished finish with the collar in turquoise. This a female figure wearing a skirt. Necklace and bracelets, nose ring and lip plug. There are what appears to be earrings on the ears. The face is quite detailed with heavily lidded eyes. The figure has not been cleaned and the debris around the one eys can be removed professionally if you desire to have it done. This is a beautiful fragment and highly glazed. The left hand is missing the fingers and the right hand has a few fingers with rough edges. The back of the right lower arm and back of the right hand have damage and looks as if it was repaired but the edges are not even. The front of the hand looks very good. The ... morefigure is completely hollow. I have it displayed on several stands just for the photographs as it is obviously not free standing with the bottom half missing. The last photo shows that it can be displayed nicely but I did not have a proper stand so it is rather high. A beautiful detailed fragment to add to a collection or to start with. Measuements are approximately 5" across from hand to hand in the front. Approximately 6" high to the shortest front part and another 1' long to the longest piece, approximately 3 1/2" across the top of the shoulders in the front and 3 3/4" a little lower down, face alone is approximately 2 x 2, ear to ear is 3" and a little over three inches from the top of the head to the chin, The head or headdress 3 1/2" across the crown over the eyes. Since the figure is rounded and not flat these are approximate measurements.
PRE COLUMBIAN POTTERY FRAGMENT ECUADOR HEAD LA TOLITA AUTHENTIC SMALL 1 1/2 "
PRE COLUMBIAN POTTERY FRAGMENT ECUADOR AUTHENTIC This is a small but very detailed authentic Pre Columbian pottery head fragment from Ecuador from an old private collection. From the deformation of the head presumably La Tolita culture 600 B C- 200 A D. The heavily lidded eyes are very distinct anad detailed as is the nose with an exceptionally large nose ring. The mouth is open with a square lip plug in the lower lip. Very elaborate ear ornaments. The headdress is high and the head slopes backward. The head is hollow and broken almost evenly at the neck so it will stand alone but can be supported on a stand. Close up photos show the debris on the fragment as it has not been cleaned. It is approximately 1 1/2 inches high and 1 3/4 inches across the widest portion of the head. The face has a very slight reddish tint also on the right jaw line ... morewhile the top of the headdress is a darker gray.
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR AUTHENTIC POTTERY FRAGMENT FEMALE JAMACOAQUE 500BC-200AD
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR AUTHENTIC JAMACOAQUE FRAGMENT This is a authentic Pre Columbian pottery female fragment from Ecuador. Jamacoaque culture 500 B.C. 1000 A.D. from a private collection. It is a bit over 5 1/2' tall and 3" across the shoulders. The face itself is 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 The burnished and glossy areas would represent skin. The head has well defined ear ornaments, nose, nose ring and eyes. A large necklace is around the neck and the bands on the arms seem to be bracelets. The figure has been displayed on a lucite base and also upright for photographs as it will not stand by itself. It is completely hollow. All damage is pictured. Partial headdress and partial loss of hands mostly the right. It has an old repair with 2 pieces glued. The entire right arm section is one piece from the front to back and a second smaller piece connects ... morethat one and to the other side. The sections fit together rather well with the cracks lining up with no major gaps a little under the right ear. The remaining figure is one piece and not broken. All cracks and repairs are pictured. The back is completely smooth with no raised decoration. Debris has not been removed but seems to flake off with handling and a soft brush would remove more if desired. This figure could be repaired professionally and cleaned but I have left it as is. Not museum quality but a relatively nice piece for the beginning collector or for restoration. 3c0.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Feog4d71f%2B%3E3c0-14bca579a9b-0x116-
