Pre-Columbian MAYAN CERAMIC BOWL, 10" dia. 3 leg, very Nice piece, Pot Bowl ?
I know little to nothing about this wonder part of history but I did sell a large Mayan collection some 20 years ago on Ebay with nothing but happy customers. I know enough to judge the real thing which this is. I respectfully offer this and some other pieces of art& history on Ebay. I know nothing about what figure this represents. Figure seems to have long horns to me. These are from an Estate I bought from a gentleman who worked for Halliburton traveling the world for 50 years looking for places to dig for oil. Please view my other listings. If somebody wanted all at one price I could chat about that. I will double box all of these pieces so they make their travel safely. Please note: this bowl has many little flaws due to age and who knows why. Please email with any questions. Thank you! approximate size 10" diameter. 7 inches ... moretall

Pre Columbian Mayan Ceramic Tripod Bowl With Cattle Legs Costa Rica
You are bidding on a pre columbian mayan ceramic tripod bowl with cattle legs. The bowl measures 5 1/2 inches wide and a little under 3 1/2 inches tall. The bowl is painted red and black. This bowl is one of the nicest painted pieces I have in the collection. You can still see almost the brush strokes on the bowls inner side. This item is very very old and 100% authentic. There are no physical breaks in the item at all. If you shake the item. You can hear something moving inside. Almost as if there is a piece if pottery loose in one of the legs or someone buried a lovely treasure inside of it, that would only be found if the item was broken. This item also belongs in a museum. Good luck and happy bidding on this lovely treasure. TKT Posted with

Pre-Columbian MAYAN CERAMIC BOWL LEG 2-5/8" h. PAINTED ANIMAL FACE Ppd-USA!
Pre-Columbian MAYAN CERAMIC BOWL LEG 2-5/8" h. PAINTED ANIMAL FACE. ONE Pre-Columbian MAYAN CERAMIC BOWL LEG 2-5/8" h. PAINTED ANIMAL FACE. With red, cream and black painted facial designs. Has raised eyes and nose, mouth is open on the sides but closed at the end as this is where the bowl leg would rest on the surface. Top of the head is open as that is where it was connected to the bowl base; there is a hole on the back of the head as it is hollow and this is the opening. Solid ceramic objects tend to explode or at least break due to steam pressure when being"cooked" Frequently the legs are broken off vessels if the legs contain a rattle so they check to see if the rattles are gold balls. Appears to be Copador style from El Salavador and southern Honduras with a preponderance of red coloration. From the Classic period ... moreof about 300-900AD. You are bidding on a large vessel head of Veracruz Maya culture; you look at the head of it can be seen that there is either a trophy head or around a sacrificial ritual. pre-Columbian bird man figure ceramic wTL test Doc! Mayan pottery Priest RARE
You are bidding on a ceramic of the Maya culture in the form of a bird. It is also possible that it is a bird man. A priest in the bird costume. Striking is the upscale head, a position of power, and the large comb headdress. The massive bill is the reference to a bird of prey. Originally a pipe, through the centuries a hole on the belly is created. The surface is changed due to age, scratches and crashes. Maya ceramics are highly sought after, partly because many have not received as many ceramics, as in the Peruvian cultures that are part of the basic climatic conditions and often sacrificed to the Mayan ceramics by ritual destruction.
