GJPaw Auctions is pleased to offer a fine antique Pre-Columbian ceramic blackware stirrup spout Vessel with Figure. From the Chimú culture. Peru. ... moreThe Chimú culture arose around 900 A.D. on the northern coast of Peru in a large adobe city in the Moche Valley. And was conquered by the Incas in 1470 AD. They are best known for their distinctive monochromatic pottery and fine metal work. The main types of Chimú ceramics are small sculptures, manufactured molded and shaped pottery for daily use and those made for ceremonial use for offerings at burials. The pottery is often in the shape of a creature. Or has a human figure sitting or standing on a cuboid bottle. The shiny black finish of most Chimú pottery was achieved by firing the pottery at high temperatures in a closed kiln, which prevented oxygen from reacting with the clay. This beautiful molded stirrup vessel measures 5 inches in width by 4 inches in depth by 7 inches in height(12.7 cm by 10.1 by 17.7 cm) The figure shows wear consistent with use and a Pre-Columbian dating. But generally is in very good condition. It is guaranteed authentic and would make a superb addition to any collection of Pre-Columbian ceramics. GJPaw Auctions has been in the Art business for over 25 years and is now expanding its operation to eBay. Our goal is to bring the same experience and excitement of collecting that we have been delivering in-person to collectors across the Globe at Primitive in Chicago. Every object we sell online has been carefully hand-selected with special attention to detail. Quality, and significance. We ship worldwide. Colima Dog This is a wonderful Colima figural dog vessel. As found in a local estate and believed to be an ancient piece from Western Mexico, approximately ... moretwo thousand years old. The dog is fat- or pregnant- with a hollow body in aggressive stance with tail that forms a spout. The dog's eyes and mouth are incised into the clay. Dog effigies such as this were buried in tombs in the belief that dogs were an important guide into the afterlife of the deceased. Both of the dog's ears are chipped; one with minor loss. The other more significantly. Two legs have been re-glued; the repairs are rough and amateur, and the break lines appear to have had some loss and are not well-aligned. The burnished reddish brown exterior is mottled and veined. And the interior is encrusted with mineral sediment. The dog came to me without information on its history or provenance. But shows many indications of its age. It's a fascinating piece that is sure to complement any collection. Two legs repaired somewhat roughly. One ear is broken. The other is chipped. Other expected wear. Burnished exterior, rough interior with sediment deposits. 9 3/8" long. 6" high, 5" across[ p e n c i l p o i n t e r Shipping? FREE via USPS Priority International Shipping? Ancient Clay Vessel Pot, Human Figure Holding Items , Extensively Repaired
ANCIENT CLAY VESSEL WITH EMBOSSED FIGURE IN VARIOUS ACTIVITIES. EXTENSIVELY REPAIRED AND DAMAGED You are bidding on an ancient pottery vessel. Origin unknown, with a rounded handle and spout and a human figure holding a spear and other objects in panels around the middle of the vessel. The vessel is extensively repaired and glued with one shard still missing from one side and large chips from the rim. The pot is about 11-1/2" tall and 8" in diameter. While the pot is fragile because of the cracks and repairs, it has probably been in that condition for hundreds of years and I think will ship safely with proper packing. Vessel Figure Shaman Huari pre-columbian
Vessel Figure Shaman coast north From Peru. 850 A.D. Huari Culture. size: 7" inches private collection I am re listing this fine vessel Huari because it authenticates and offer you a Coa. I'll say what are the reasons for this is authentic. First I want to tell and know that connoisseurs and collectors will understand. One piece pre Columbian mostly are old in appearance, but not all is depending on where they are found, we can see many pieces of the Nazca culture and huari almost new in appearance the reason is because they are coastal and desert areas, there is no fungus in them, of course there wear. or depending on if I were to just such a ritual. this piece huari has a new appearance but can see that at the top of the head wear of natural paint. Along the way is made burnishing and how was is an old technique, otherwise I could ... moreobserved time and experience I have, symmetry and weight of each piece, the sound of this old clay ovens used and used wooden llama dung and other vegetables, sewing clay. the old sound is a dull sound of the firing of each piece, and the sound and the current technique for making false is very different because currently uses electric furnaces, can explain much more with the whole experience and the vast collection that I have in pre Columbian Peruvian art, I am very suspicious as a connoisseur of ancient art and seller can get a negative feedback. Without saying a word of this, I wrote and explain and do not hear anything, then I have made known to EBay to revise the negative feedback that is unfair. I thank all the buyers who trust us. We have much experience in Peruvian pre Columbian art. I am willing to answer any questions and publish it for all to see. Thank you thanks for your bids and purchases for all our buyers. only accept paypal payments otherwise please communicate before making a bid. all my items are guaranteed Authentic or money back

By 5 inches wide, and 7 inches tall. I believe authentic examples like this would very rarely come up for auction on eBay, mostly being offered with Absolutely No Reserves. Pre-Columbian Pottery Costa Rica Tripod Vessel w/ Rattle-Leg, Animal Figure
I'm selling for a friend. If you have any questions. Please contact! Pre-Columbian Pottery Tripod with Animal figure. My friend acquired her pottery in Costa Rica in 1972 when it was still legal to take them out of the country. At that time, the pieces were taken to the National Museum in Costa Rica where they authenticated them and granted permission for them to leave the country. Unfortunately the paperwork was lost. I guarantee these to be authentic pre-Columbian era. Inside one of the legs is a ball so that it will make rattling sounds when shaken. I assume they all once had a rattle. Measures 6.25" tall by 5" wide at widest part. Posted with

A Fine Pre-Columbian Colima Blackware Seated Figure Holding a Large Vessel.
A Fine Pre-Columbian Colima Blackware Seated Figure Holding a Large Double-lobed Vessel. Late Preclassic, ca. 300 B.C. to 100 B.C. This unique solid blackware ceramic seated figure holding a large hollow double-lobed pot. Has black burnished slip with brownish mottled torso and beautiful glossy patina overall, dates to the Late Preclassic Period of the West Mexican Colima sculptural tradition and the Tuxcacuesco-Ortices sub-style, ca. 300 B.C. to 100 B.C. This seated figure's bulbous eyes are set below a criss-cross headdress, typical of the type, the straps of which are appliqued. The features of the face resemble the“dish face” variety of this sub-style. The neck is adorned with a necklace holding two ball-shaped pendants. The forearms display two bracelets each. The vessel rests upon the legs and is held with both hands. The sides ... moreof the pot are incised, resembling a pumpkin vessel. The upper lobe has a slightly flaring rim. The entire pot is hollow. There are few known blackware figures in the Colima culture, and this is an extremely rare example from the Late Preclassic period in West Mexico. pre-Columbian vessel bottle maize God wTL test Doc! Priest Figure CeramicPottery
Very interesting bottles vessel with the presentation of the maize god; the presentation is worked in low relief. In my opinion the illustration shows a priest dressed as a corn god with long scepter in one hand. A maize plant in the other. He wears a large feathered headdress and a robe decorated with temple or Andean stairs. Around his neck he wears a thick necklace. Without the age test, I would definitely assign the ceramic by design of the Moche culture, so you can well understand, is why often spoken in the Chimu of Late Moche.
