Ancient / Pottery / Bowl / South Texas / Find
This is a ancient handmade pottery bowl with designs that are clearer on the bottom sides than the top. I was told it was found in south Texas amongst the rouble of a old rock stacked building partially covered in dusty dirt near the Rio Grande River. It looks older than what the eastern settlers were bringing in with them so I would sermise that it is of Indian make& use. There are a few white areas on the rim that look to have been broken off at some time before I bought it. Take a look at the photo's for a more accurate description. This would look great in your collection. Good Luck Bidding!

AUTHENTIC Lot PRE COLUMBIAN JALISCO Pottery Vase Bowl Platter Mexico NO RESERVE
I purchased a large lot of pottery in a high-end auction. And these three pieces of Pre-Columbian pottery were included in it. A very old auction label on the bottom of one of the pieces identifies these as Jalisco. The vase in this lot has red painted details and is 4.5 inches tall. With an opening at the top of 3.5 inches in diameter. It is a beautiful piece but does have a chip on the top rim, which is shown in photos. There are also two very old labels on the bottom, which can be removed by the buyer if desired. The small bowl here is 4.25 inches in diameter and 2 inches tall. It has beautiful firing marks. Although it too has chips, shown in photos. The large platter/bowl is 9.5 inches in diameter and 2 inches tall. Again. Nice firing marks and overall a great looking piece. I am not a collector of this specific type of pottery. So please ... moreemail me if you have any questions I have not answered here. I am happy to reply. Happy bidding!

Lg Pre-Columbian Pottery Fragment & Unknown Bowl w/ Rat or Mice Motif + Figurine
Here for your consideration is a mixed lot of Pre-Columbian and unknown period pottery. This lot is from a nice collection of authentic pre-Columbian artifacts. I know for certain that the large broken pottery fragment in this lot is pre-Columbian. But I have my doubts about the rat bowl and sitting figurine. The bowl is completely hand made and beautiful, but the condition of the surface seems to be too good. There is dirt in the creases along the rats and looks soiled within, but you'll have to be the judge on this piece. Seems raku fired. The figurine appears to have been possible in the process of restoration? It's a cool little piece, but I do not know the age and cannot guarantee when it was made, so you'll have to be the judge on it too. If you'd like to share your opinions on these two interesting pieces, I like to ... morehear them. The man that amassed the collection that these were a part of, had a thing for authenticity, so I don't think these would have been in his collection if they weren't of some importance. This lot being sold as is as described, no returns. Low opening bid no reserve.

Inca Treasures Pre Columbian style pottery bowl artifact Terraca Mexico art
A very unique and unusual Pre Columbian style pottery artifact with a village specific design. Different old villages in Mexico have produced design patterns unique to their villages and often the village can be identified by the pattern. This coffee bean design matches another that I purchased online from a different unrelated source and both have this design. The only two pieces like this I have seen. I researched this and it appears to be the same pattern and is old and from a village in Mexico. These patterns may endure for years. This is an antique piece and is in shape of a vessel or bowl. The pattern of this and the other Pre Columbian style both have strong color with a coffee bean motif. I am not exactly certain of the age and my estimate is it is from the mid 1850s to early 1930s. The two dishes make a nice twosome if bought together. ... moreThe other vessel is a bowl on my site. Folk art piece from Mexico. Nice piece for collector of pre Columbian pottery or folk art pottery art. Culture: Mexico CA: approx. 1950 to 1930s size 61/2 in diameter at top and 6 inches high Please view pictures and ask questions. See my other Pre Columbian pottery.
