Amazing large INCA biface / two-faced copper effigy - with COA - Unique piece!
You are looking at a beautiful and important double sided(male and female) copper artifact from the Inca culture of the Late Horizon Period of Peru. The statue was made using the lost wax method around the 16th century. It is unusually large and heavy(16.5 cm high and 982 grams/ 2 pounds heavy) The lower body part is corroded from centuries of exposure to acids typically released in tombs but considering the age the statue is in overall good condition and shows a beautiful patina. The statue was brought to the US by Peruvian immigrants in the 1940s and is guaranteed to be genuine. It comes with a certificate of authenticity issued by a leading Florida art gallery specializing in pre-columbian art. Don't miss this opportunity to add this beautiful and unique item to your collection.

Pre Columbian Peru Inca Pottery Vessel w/ Zoomorphic Decoration ca. 1400 AD
I just bought this a little while ago paid over $375.Authenticated it myself and had a knowlegable friend and study group also take a look and give their approval. I used it for a study and lecture presentation and its too fragile to display with cats in the house so I am putting it back on the market. This marvelous head was most probably placed over a second figure and worn as a"helmet" or a mask. This approach occurs on many Vera Cruz and Mayan pieces. Often associated with warriors or ball game figures. My guess is that this piece is most likely Vera Cruz. As noted, it is complete in itself and retains traces of both white and red pigment. One small apparent loss to the headband/headdress. The piece measures just over 2-1/2" in height. Shipping and handling in the US is $15; overseas will vary. Pre Columbian vintage mask handmade Peru, inca God, pottery artifact relic
Great decorative piece made in mid 1900s in Peru by a Peruvian artisan. Likely Inca descendant. Has a loop on back to hang. Last photo is rear side not blotched pic. This is an Inca God. Wonderful copper masks were made by the Incas among other cultures with great intricacy. This has Silver eyes but I am not sure if plated. It's good fun item to add an Incan feeling in a home with Latin decor. Uncommon item and one of a kind handmade. Good pre Columbian artifact replica of mask. It has"Peru" stamped on back of it. Agriculture and fishing were very important activities. The Chimus worshipped the Moon. They view the Sun as a destroyer, possibly because of the harshness of the sun in their desert environment. Their ceramics were usually stained black, although there were variations. Lighter ceramics were not common, but were produced ... morein smaller quantities. Chimu/ Inca Necklace with Figural Pendant Click on these links to view larger photos: 1- 2- 3 Pre-Columbian. Northern Peru, Chimu/Inca, pre-15th Century CE, with contemporary assembly. The highlight of this necklace is the figural pendant that tellingly features turquoise eyes and a turquoise pectoral mirror. Scholarly research has shown that Pre-Columbian cultures wore jewelry to demonstrate rank and social order. According to one ancient chronicler“ everything is strictly regulated according to a hierarchical order: only the emperor can wear turquoise in his nose. While not a nose ornament, the inclusion of turquoise in t his piece points to signification of elite status of the figure being represented and perhaps the wearer. Mirrors in Mesoamerican culture were believed to serve as portals to a realm with which one could not interact. ... moreFashioned from stone, mirrors in Pre-Columbian times served a range of uses from decorative to divinatory– metaphors for sacred caves, conduits for supernatural forces, fiery hearths, and the list goes on. Mirrors were frequently worn as pectorals on the chest, a practice that stems back to Olmecs. For instance at Tomb A at La Venta dating back to 600 bce, a seated female donning an obsidian mirror on her chest was recovered. 30"L, 32-3/4"L with pendant and suspension for pendant Ex-Virginia Gamba Collection Authenticity Guaranteed. Pre-columbian Bead Lot Mayan Inca Aztec Peru Bird Human Effigies Gold ? Turquois
A very interesting collection of beads brought from Peru by a missionary in the early 1950's. I am not sure what age or time period they would be from. The stone beads appear to be from several different materials. The large ones are possibly turquoise or jade. The gold beads and effigies are of stamped metal. It's possible they have some gold content or are gold washed. As they show little signs of tarnish. I counted well over 300 beads total. The strand measures about 15" long. The face effigy measures 0.95" by 1.36" Please view our other auctions being listed over the next few days. We will be dispersing many artifacts from several recent collection acquisitions. Pre-Inca Pottery Chimu Lamballeque Period 1000-1500 AD Auction
Pre-Inca Pottery Chimu Lamballeque Period 1000-1500 AD Auction I am selling a portion of my family collection that has been in our family for well over 45 years. Due to downsizing and not having the storage room any longer I would rather others enjoy these unique pieces of old pottery. They have been stored in glass display cases for most of their time while in my care. They all come from a non smoking environment and great care will be taken in their packing. Double boxed for extra cushioning and excess bubble wrap. These were all aquired by my family while travelling and living in Peru and Bolivia. All the items were aquired from various sources and were verified by a local museum curator at the time. None have documents and providing carbon dating documentation even the most elaborate museums cannot afford. Knowing where the items were ... morefound is key and all in my collection were aquired in archeological ventures. This piece is an interesting art piece from the Lamballeque/ Chimu era. The condition is as seen in photo(see photos) the piece was restored by a curator in Lima in the 60's and has not been changed since. ~ 25cm long. 12cm wide and 18cm high. The piece is slightly darker than shown in photos* The Lambayeque period dates to approximately 1000 AD. Extending to the rise of the Chimú Empire in 1350 AD. The Chimú were the residents of Chimor, with its capital at the city of Chan Chan, a large adobe city in the Moche Valley of present-day Trujillo city. The culture arose about 900 AD. The Inca ruler Tupac Inca Yupanqui led a campaign which conquered the Chimú around 1470 AD, This was just fifty years before the arrival of the Spanish in the region. Consequently, Spanish chroniclers were able to record accounts of Chimú culture from individuals who had lived before the Inca conquest. Similarly, Archaeological evidence suggest Chimor grew out of the remnants of Moche culture; early Chimú pottery had some resemblance to that of the Moche. Their ceramics are all black, and their wor

I am in the process of moving. We are downsizing and I will be selling a large portion of our collection to free up space and also get some much needed cash. The turtle is incredibly lifelike and proportioned wonderfully with the bowl. The ridges on the shell match those on the bowl edge. Giving a very complete look to the piece. It measures approx. 12.5cm tall and approx. 14.5cm in diameter at the top of the bowl. Pleasure view photos and ask any questions prior to bidding. Sold with no reserve. Shipping will be $19.58. Inca Treasures Pre Columbian Jalisco pottery, figures artifacts, art, COA
Great pre Columbian seated couple in two figures. This is a wonderful pair seated together with stoic poses. Jalisco couples are rare to fid and great collectors items. I purchased them from Minerva Gallery that sells Pre a Columbian art and other lovely antiquities and they are authentic. They come from an old culture in Western Mexico. I am not sure what could have happened to the man's right shoulder. Possibly he is deformed but likely it represents a style of Jalisco anatomical depiction or it shows the problems with body proportion seen in much Pre Columbian art. Culture: Jalisco. A lovely piece of Inca art with a bichrome stirrup vessel figure of a beggar drinking. Great coloring still though there some scratches and variations in color and glaze. Beautiful necklace made from authentic pre Columbian stones. Earrings matched to go. The stones seem to possibly be Mayan but I am not certain of the culture. The bottom three in photo are all carved with design but two are flipped over in picture so only one seems to be decorated. Just turn it over. This is a wonderful set combining ancient stones with modern items for a wearable piece. All are authentic pre Columbian stones and made for wear. Terrific conversation piece. Handsome arrangement of antique native clay beads with a pre Columbian stone pendant. This is another combination of old and new together for a sharp wearable piece. The other spacers and restrung clasps are all new as is the cord. The stones are lovely pastel shades and easy to look at with a simply stated elegance. The colored clay stones are probably North American. About 1-200 years old and the stone is Pre Columbian, but I don't know the culture but likely 500-1000 years old. Inca Treasures pair of Paleolithic ammonite fossils, Neolithic, artifacts stones
This is an exquisite fossil ammonite from the Paleolithic period that is a matched pair from the same shell. Inner surfaces are polished and there are great cavitation to show where the animals lived in their shell. The ammonites are mollusks and related to the Nautilus group. Their spiral shape is captivating and as the animal grew produced extensions in its shell to accommodate its increasing size. They began dying off in the Mesozoic period. This lovely artifact specimen is about 150 million years old and came from Madagascar. This paired fossil cut is a terrific specimen especially as many of the chambers are not fossilized in giving a three dimensional view of life as an ammonite. By the way. The animal is long deceased though part of it may have changed to stone in the shell. But a wonderful specimen.
