The certificate has a beautiful vignette of a steam locomotive pulling a passenger railcar with people looking on and woods and a far off town in the background. It also has a smaller vignette on the bottom of a farmer plowing his fields with two horses. The Little Miami was incorporated on March 11, 1836 and its first president, who served without pay, was Jerremiah Morrow, governor of Ohio. It was the second railroad incorporated in the State of Ohio. The LMRR would eventually be purchased by the Pittsburgh, Cincinatti, Chicago and St. Louis RR, which was part of the Pennsylvania RR Company. The company was chartered in 1827 and in it's prime its routes ran east to Philadelphia and New York and West to Chicago and St. Louis. The B&O was the oldest US passenger line and is best known as one of the Monopoly game railroad stocks. Abe Lincoln wrote the Gettysburg address on a line that was part of the B&O. The B&O became part of the Chessie system(Chesapeake& Ohio and Baltimore& Ohio) which in 1980 became part of CSX transportation.
