Not a hairline to be found anywhere, only some rim chips- the largest measuring just over half an inch in length, just right of center on the top rim. Two more which are very tiny- both toward the back on the inner rim, less than a quarter inch each. There is wear to the blue decoration, but the stenciling is plenty legible. There is also some yellowish staining on either side of the crock. Other minor imperfections such as tiny dings and glaze skips, of which we are unsure whether they occurred in manufacturing. Hard to find Weller Art Pottery Arts& Crafts style vase in the Modeled Etched Matt pattern. Measuring 10" tall. 4" across the widest part, 1 3/4" across the top, and 2 1/4" across the bottom, a couple examples of this pattern(but not this form) are found on p. 178-79 in the Collectors Encyclopedia of Weller Pottery. Huxford. Beautiful golden color with striking white rose. Green leaves, and reddish-brown thorny vines will make a statement in your Arts and Crafts bungalow or Tudor style home. Condition: A 1" area on the rose that looks as if the glaze had popped with glaze loss. A few discolored areas. White shiny spot on the bottom is glazed. Not a chip. Narrow white line on the back bottom area is glazed and not a crack. I recently did a storage cleanout. Where I found a lot of very old pottery and art, these two pieces were wrapped together, and inside the one of them was a piece of paper that says, your candle container is a pre Columbian pril que cup used as a drinking vessel, the vase was to cook in circa 900AD signed tim and patty, I don't know much about pottery but this guy had a lot of it, so I am guessing these are what it is said to be.

Extremely Rare Pre-Columbian Pottery Ceremonial Pipe and Vase- antique pottery It is my understanding that the two items were found during the original excavation of the Panama Canal. The vase is missing the head. Which I was told looked the same as the head on the pipe. I contacted Christies of New York about auctioning the items. As they do not have an auction category for these items, they have referred me to a specialist. As I don't have much in the way of patience, I am now offering these pieces on Ebay. Sotheby's also responded to these pieces, but since their auction estimate was under $5.000, they will not sell it. The pieces are about three inches square. Apiece. What they are worth is up to you! AUTHENTIC Lot PRE COLUMBIAN JALISCO Pottery Vase Bowl Platter Mexico NO RESERVE
I purchased a large lot of pottery in a high-end auction. And these three pieces of Pre-Columbian pottery were included in it. A very old auction label on the bottom of one of the pieces identifies these as Jalisco. The vase in this lot has red painted details and is 4.5 inches tall. With an opening at the top of 3.5 inches in diameter. It is a beautiful piece but does have a chip on the top rim, which is shown in photos. There are also two very old labels on the bottom, which can be removed by the buyer if desired. The small bowl here is 4.25 inches in diameter and 2 inches tall. It has beautiful firing marks. Although it too has chips, shown in photos. The large platter/bowl is 9.5 inches in diameter and 2 inches tall. Again. Nice firing marks and overall a great looking piece. Pre Columbian Chupicuaro vessel, pottery, jug, artifact, pot, relic, vase, relic
This is a striking piece of brown ware pottery from Chupicraro culture. Western Mexico. It is possibly from Colima or Nayarit cultures of Mexico. It is intact and good condition. Rounded bottom and flared rim. Rim has four decorative small carvings. There are good manganese deposits and root marks and a good earthy smell when inside is wetted. There are charming smoke clouds from the uneven glazing and shadings blending from black. Brown, tan and gray colors. I bought this from a collector that was not sure of the exact culture but it is authentically pre Columbian work with nice rounded lines. CA 500BC- 200 AD Diameter 8 inches. Gorgeous red clay pottery vase or vessel hand decorated in natural clay slip. Pre Columbian inspired- I hesitate to actually call it pre Columbian- it is appears to be too clean- however I do not know the age or origin- it is not signed which tells me it was probably made by and for the user. Either utilitarian or for trade. Nice hand crafted cultural folk art piece. Approx dims are 6.5"high 5.25"wide and 2"thick- no chips or cracks- holds water and has a sweet earthy odor when wet.

Has not been professionally authenticated) A high quality Imperial Chimu effigy vessel depicting a bear head on one end and a Man head on the other. The feet of the bear? seem lizard like and also serve as the mans arms and hand. There appears to be a leash or rope on the bears mouth wrapping around the vase& leading to the mans hand. Suggestive of the creatures captive state. there is also two handles which appear to be the bears arms. The bear has a tail. A large stirrup. A black figural Chimu/Inca bottle with short neck and fluted rim, in the form of a three-dimensional Maize Goddess, warrior, Diety. It stands only 7-3/8" inches high(approx. 19 cm) measures 4" inches[10.16 cm] wide, and 2.5" in. 6.35 cm] deep. There is something strange about it. Which is different from anything else I've found: The base of the piece has thick white paint, which has some kind of'seal' stamped in blue ink. I cannot figure out what the seal reads! Also, hand-written is"Sp. 3" IMITACION MODERNA" and dated 23/2/56(1956) From Northern Peru. I've often wondered if someone may have painted this mark onto an actual ancient artifact. This is a Vintage Chulucanas Handmade Nazca Design Pottery Vase. Nazca- black line design with a monkey on one side and a reptile on the other. This is an unusual vase in that it has canteen shape with a very narrow opening on top. Like a slit. Pretty coloring in red, turquoise, blue. And beige with black accents. Due to downsizing and not having the storage room any longer I would rather others enjoy these unique pieces of old pottery. They have been stored in glass display cases for most of their time while in my care. They all come from a non smoking environment and great care will be taken in their packing. Double boxed for extra cushioning and excess bubble wrap. These were all aquired by my family while travelling and living in Peru and Bolivia. All the items were aquired from various sources and were verified by a local museum curator at the time. Ancient Pre-Columbian Mayan Pottery Vase Jar Pot Urn Chupicuaro 500 BC to 100 AD
Item Specifics: Ancient Pre-Columbian Mayan Pottery Vase Jar Pot. Chupicuaro Artifact Archeology Late Pre Classical Meso Amercia. Bowl Pre Classic Mexico Relic Burial Aztec Treasure Ceremonial Antique Art Sculpture. Guanajuato 3 Footed Tripod Vessel Horde Late Preclassical Mesoamercian Period. A large and exceptional vessel from Mexico's Chupicuaro Valley. Dating to the Late Pre-Classic Period. Circa 500/800 BC to 100 AD. From a legal 1950s collection, passed down from one family until now. It measures about 9-1/2" tall by about 6-1/2" wide. It came with a very old brittle paper piece(that I taped back together and will include) that identifies this piece in writing saying. Chupicuaro, State of Guanajuato, 100 AD- 500 or 800 BC" Three-footed with black decorations around the top sides. It was made with a slight slant to ... moreit as shown. CONDITION: The feet are strong and secure and this is a sturdy piece of thicker pottery. The paint is not dry or flaking off. The glaze or red painting is still kind of shiny. There's a very old repair. That I've tried to show, made up of two top side pieces(2-1/2" by 3" and 2" by 3" that were glued/cemented back together at one time(probably shortly after excavation) At the bottom of this repair is a hairline side crack of 3-3/4" The top shoulders have a 1-1/2" 2-1/4" and 3-1/2" hairline crack at the shoulder. The black colored designs and surface show loss with rubbing and tiny chips that's expected with age. This vessel has been kept very well over the centuries and years and will display nicely. Blackware Pottery Vessel Vase Jug Chimu Applied Snakes Crocodiles Precolumbian
This auction is for a very unusual pottery vessel. It is not the Pueblo/Santa Clara style blackware but more like the hand-rubbed Precolumbian Chimu style. It has a wide mouth as shown with applied lizard or snake heads that are surrounded by coiled. Incised tails. There are two sections on the body with applied, incised tail spirals ending in another snake head in the top left corner. Between the spirals are applied alligator or crocodile forms. All of the designs on the body are surrounded by more bands of applied and incised geometric lines. This piece is not signed. I have no idea how old it is, but the workmanship is excellent and the condition is very good with no chips or cracks. Measures 6 1/4" tall and 5" wide across the mouth.
