This page from a 1940s dictionary shows Representative Pieces of Period Furniture. The eighteen different interior design styles shown include a Chippendale chair. Queen Anne chair, Duncan Phyfe chair, and American colonial highboy. Nice little print to frame up and use in a grouping. Original book page from a 1945 dictionary. Not a copy or contemporary reprint. The page has more of an aged appearance than it appears in the photo. The back side has text. There is some show-through. But this can be minimized by backing the page with black paper(which I'd be happy to include if you request it in a note with your order) Page size is about 6 1/8 x 8 1/2 inches. Page is in very good condition. PAPER CONDITION Because most of the prints and advertisements were once in books or magazines. They all have at least a small bit of wear. Although ... morethere are differences in the amount of wear, items and prints are worthy of framing or another type of display. Items of interest that are in less than“good” condition are sometimes offered in small lots for scrapbookers, collage artists, etc. Paper items may have rough edges and/or staple holes on one margin from being bound in a book or magazine. Black Coral carved by Natives - History Included & White Coral - 9 pieces total
Here is the history- about 45 years ago. A dear friend was fishing off one of the Polynesian Islands, he pulled up a large piece of black coral. He left it in his hut and went back fishing the next day- while he was out fishing. The Natives had carved his beautiful black coral fan into Tiki Heads(pipes? and coka spoons. He wasn't happy at all. He gave them to me about 20 years ago before he passed on. I polished 1 and added a blue stone. But never finished it. The rest are in the condition as received from him off that Island. Total weight of the Black Coral is14.6 grams. The White Coral was pulled up by different friend about 18 years ago while he was out commercial crabbing, off the Coast of California, he has since passed as well) Total weight of the White Coral is 25.5 grams. 1 piece is cut in half.
