VINTAGE SHIPIBO CONIBO INDIAN FACE POTTERY VESSEL The Shipibo-Conibo are an indigenous people along the Ucayali River in the Amazon rainforest in Peru. ... moreFormerly two groups. The Shipibo(ape men) and the Conibo(fish men) they eventually became one distinct tribe through intermarriage and communal ritual and are currently known as the Shipibo-Conibo people. For your consideration I have a great looking vintage example of Shipibo-Conibo pottery from Peru which is in excellent condition. It was acquired at an estate sale a few years back. I was told that it was acquired on a trip to Peru in the 1960s. aside from a small nick in the glaze on the rim and another small nick on the ear both which could easily be touched up. I would rate this piece a 9/10 or better overall. There are no major chips and no cracks. It has a real presence and it displays like a champ! It is a great practical size for flower arrangements. It measures approx. 8.25" tall. And 8" wide at the widest point. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me before bidding. Like need or want it? Don't wait! Bid now!

GJPaw Auctions is pleased to offer a fine antique Pre-Columbian ceramic blackware stirrup spout Vessel with Figure. From the Chimú culture. Peru. ... moreThe Chimú culture arose around 900 A.D. on the northern coast of Peru in a large adobe city in the Moche Valley. And was conquered by the Incas in 1470 AD. They are best known for their distinctive monochromatic pottery and fine metal work. The main types of Chimú ceramics are small sculptures, manufactured molded and shaped pottery for daily use and those made for ceremonial use for offerings at burials. The pottery is often in the shape of a creature. Or has a human figure sitting or standing on a cuboid bottle. The shiny black finish of most Chimú pottery was achieved by firing the pottery at high temperatures in a closed kiln, which prevented oxygen from reacting with the clay. This beautiful molded stirrup vessel measures 5 inches in width by 4 inches in depth by 7 inches in height(12.7 cm by 10.1 by 17.7 cm) The figure shows wear consistent with use and a Pre-Columbian dating. But generally is in very good condition. It is guaranteed authentic and would make a superb addition to any collection of Pre-Columbian ceramics. GJPaw Auctions has been in the Art business for over 25 years and is now expanding its operation to eBay. Our goal is to bring the same experience and excitement of collecting that we have been delivering in-person to collectors across the Globe at Primitive in Chicago. Every object we sell online has been carefully hand-selected with special attention to detail. Quality, and significance. We ship worldwide. Ancient Peru, Moche ovoid pottery jar or bottle 200 to 800 AD antiquities
A Moche/possibly early Chimu ovoid jar with a mold face. Pierced ears and a decorated area of some kind of creature with sharp teeth. Ribbons out of mouth would seem to indicate a religious significance for the pot. It is seven inches tall, six inches across at longest side and four inches deep. Semi rounded bottom. This appears to be intact. It would probably date fairly late in the Moche period, possibly 600 to 800 AD. This is from an old collection. Provenance will be provided to the buyer. In spite of being from an old collection, sale outside the United States would be problematic. Therefore I will only accept bids from the US. Please ask any questions or make requests for more pictures before bidding as I will not allow returns. EXCEPT. If with in thirty days of purchase you can provide a written statement from a recognized dealer, ... moreauctioneer or museum curator that this is not genuine. Peru, antiquity, Pottery Chimu figural stirrup jug with a monkey 1100-1400
A small Chimu stirrup jug from Peru. The Chimu directly preceded the Incas from about 1100 to 1400. They were settled in Chimor with a capital city of Chan Chan. Construction was mainly out of clay rather than stone. This is a monkey holding something to his mouth. The tail wraps around the base of the stirrup and back. it stands about seven inches to the top of the spout and app. Five inches in diameter across the bowl. There is surface wear but I believe it is otherwise intact. Please ask questions or request more pictures before you bid as I will allow no returns EXCEPT if you provide within thirty days of purchase a written statement by a recognized dealer. Even though it is from an old collection, shipping out of the country is problematic so I will only ... moreallow bids from the United States, shipping will be higher to Alaska and Hawaii. I would rather no accept bids from Wisconsin as I do not yet have a Sales Tax permit. I will be selling several pieces from my collection over the next couple of weeks. I guarantee all are old. Later I will sell the pieces that I bought early on when I thought I was so smart that turned out to be fakes. Nice to look at but definitely not real.

Signed Handcrafted Nazca Design Pottery Vase, Monkey & Reptile, Chulucanas, Peru
This is a Vintage Chulucanas Handmade Nazca Design Pottery Vase. Nazca- black line design with a monkey on one side and a reptile on the other. This is an unusual vase in that it has canteen shape with a very narrow opening on top. Like a slit. Pretty coloring in red, turquoise, blue. And beige with black accents. The vase is signed on the bottom by Alex Ramirez. There is a"CH" below his name which I would take to be an abbreviation for Chulucanas. Also a sticker that says"Made in Peru.
