This auction is for 2 old double bit axe heads(one hasTrue Temper Kelly Perfect stamped on it) And one old hammer axe head. Whether you restore these old guys or collect them, these will be a must have for some or interesting pieces of wall art for others. Other than needing an edge put back on them and a handle, these guys are ready to work again at a moments notice. Illinois has been home to some of the world's most unique and interesting products. From rolling goats to modern band uniforms, the DeMoulin Bros. factory has made items to amuse lodge members, furnish churches, and attire graduates and marching bands. Read below to find out more about the three inventive brothers and the company they started. This auction is for a boxed display of a Bronze Age axe blade and twelve Pre-Columbian heads(Colima culture) found in a shaft tomb in Western Mexico. I purchased from a collector at least twenty years ago. Great green patina on the axe blade. The card on the back states(Picture of card included) Bronze Age axe blade found in shaft tomb in Western Mexico Colima Culture. Had the vaule of 3 slaves when the Spanish came and was a symbol of wealth. 6 to 4th century A.D. Heads Pre-Columbian found in the same area. 2 SKENE FOUNDRY AXE HEADS. ROYAL SAVAGE VALCOUR ISLAND. LAKE CHAMPLAIN. N.Y.1776 This pair of Skene Foundry hand forged iron axe heads were found on the American schooner Royal Savage that was sunk on the south shore of Valcour Island on Lake Champlain. New York during the battle there on October 11, 1776.They likely started out as tools of some kind( but due the extreme shortages of any kind of weapons, these heads had the arms that sticks out sharpened to form an axe. 1 is 5 11/16’ with a 2 3/16” x 2 9/16” arm sharpened on the end( is still fairly sharp after all these years) with a 1 15/16” interior round poll that is not closed all the way. It is in good + relic condition with medium pitting& a dark brown patina. 2 is 3 5/16” long has some battle damage as the axe arm/blade was broken off by something like a cannonball hitting it ... morevery hard breaking off the blade& leaving the 1 15/16” round poll. They were found on the port side near the downed mast on the wreck in the early 1900’s along with another artifacts. These axe heads were on display in a small private museum in Ticonderoga. New York& were bought by the famous New York collector James Dunn from the curator of the museum in 1937. It comes with a Dunn Collection letter. See the 1 pounder swivel gun shot from this same ship from this same collection listed separately.

Two 2 1/4 lb Hatchet Axe Heads one Mann Edge Tool Co. Mill Hall PA one Unmarked
One hatchet head is marked MANN EDGE TOOL CO. MILL HALL PA. The letter M in MANN is clear. The rest of the word is hard to see. It weighs 2 1/4 lb. It's 6" long. And the bit is 3 3/4" The other one is also 2 1/4 lb. It's 6 3/8" long and the bit is 3 7/8" It has some spots of red paint. But no visible name. Both heads have a little surface rust and light pitting. These old tools have dents and scratches that come from use and age.

Clearly marked PLUMB. The second is a Carpenters/ Roofers ax head. Measurers 6 1/4" long with a bit of 2 1/2" and a dimpled hammer face of 1 1/8" square. Weights 1 lb. 3.5 oz. Clearly marked PLUMB U.S.A. Both are in very good vintage condition with dings. Tarnish, and light pitting.

Up for auction are these five vintage axe heads. There is only 2 axe heads with manufactures names. The OVB Broad axe and the sandvik household axe. The other three are unbranded. The double bit axe head is 10' long and the cutting edges are 4 3/4' The edges are unsharpened. There is some original paint. there some corrosion that will clean off with some elbow grease. Once cleaned this will be a very good user axe. The un branded broad axe has a 5 1/4' cutting edge. The ovb has a 4 1/2' cutting edge. There is a small chip on the corner of the cutting edge. Some of the original yellow gold paint remains. The sandvik has a 3' cutting edge. It too has some of the original paint. There is some heavy pitting on this axe had. The carpenter axe head has a 3 1/4' cutting edge. This axe has some corrosion everywhere on the ... moremetal. They are all in used condition. They all will need to be sharpened and cleaned. This is a lot of 3 old vintage axe heads that are free of wood and in good sound condition with pitting True Temper falling axe is 11 1/8" end to end and 4 1/2" across bits weighs 4 lbs 6 ozs with very faint markings and pitting Double Bit is 8 7/8" end to end and 4 3/4" across bits and weighs 3 lbs metal is thin around eye but still has nice shape.
