I did not find this one myself. I bought it in a Mexican archaeological zone(when it was legal to do so) I don't have a specific recollection of where this is from. Very nice display of a deity wearing ear spools elaborate head dress decorated garment with central solar symbol. Most likely a Shaman. Please examine the pictures for the condition. This figurine has been glued at the neck and the body has been glued to the black base. Ancient condition with a"worm" hole in the back, a tiny shallow one on her chin and an intentional hole in front of her ear, which I believe might have once held an earring? Precolumbian sculpture 24, elegant classic fragment, Teotihuacán, ancient Mexico
Precolumbian head from Teotihuacán. Mexico(1) Precolumbian. Sculpted, ceramic head; most likely 1,500 or more years old. 2) Dimensions. approximately 2.5 inches high. 3) Medium. red clay. Hard fired under great heat. 4) Provenance. I found this head(and other heads) in a farmer's field near the center of the ruins of Teotihuacán. Near Mexico City, in 1966 or 1967, when I was an anthropology student at the Universidad de las Americas in Mexico City. Generally, these farmers' fields were rocky and dusty but rain would wash the dust off the rocks and reveal that some of them had faces- and were terracotta heads and not rocks. Many times, after a rain, I would take a bus from Mexico City to Teotihuacán, explore the farmers' fields, and look for those features that were not visible when covered with dust. PRE COLUMBIAN FEMALE FIGURE POTTERY MEXICO AUTHENTIC ANCIENT This Mexican Pre Columbian pottery female figure is 7 inches high and is possibly a variant of Jalisco or Nayarit but I am not an expert and cannot be sure of the culture. It will not stand by itself and is supported for the photos. Iti s missing an arm. Lower leg and foot and another foot. or whatever it had at the ends of the legs) The arm is complete with no hand just a rounded structure. Ears and nose are abnormally large with the head sloping backwards at an angle. Minute reflective crystaline structures in the clay and dark areas that seem to be manganese deposits. There is a slight chip on the back of the head. This is an authentic figure and not a reproduction and I have had it for over 40 years. Figure would look well mounted and standing upright.

ANCIENT MEXICO TOMB COIN KNIFE TUMI MEXICAN CURRENCY RARE
This is an ancient metal object.Found in Mexico,in the form of a knife or sacrificial scalpel. I believe that it is made of a copper metal alloy and that it has probably been cleaned at some point in the past.Losing alot of the obvious surface green rough outer patina except when you loop it or look closely,then you can clearly see the age. I tried to show the surface patina and wear as well as i could in a couple of close up photos but they are very obvious when studied in person,under a microscope. This item measures approx 4.25" high and approx 6" wide. Large 10" Tall Pre-Columbian Jalisco Horned Shaman Figure Vessel, Ancient Mexico
A large Pre-Columbian Jalisco horned shaman hollow figure vessel from ancient West Mexico. Circa 200 B.C. 300 A.D. This example measures approximately 10" tall by about 5 1/2" wide and depicts a seated figure with a prominent horn-like protrusion from his forehead. Such horn-like depictions on figures are believed by scholars to symbolically represent the individual as a shaman. The individual has a false beard-like protrusion from his chin, and is holding an object near his mouth, perhaps a flute-like instrument, pipe or ceremonial object. The object is very heavy due to original sediment from burial remaining inside. Condition: Body is intact. Multiple repairs at the head(but the face area is mostly untouched) with fill/restoration over the break lines around the top. Sides and back of the head, as visible in the photos. They are shown cloaked in a blanket with ornate designs indicative of Nayarit artistic sensibilities, wearing large ear and nose ornaments as well as a readdressing featuring a large decorated band. Original pigment remains, revealing geometric designs in white black and orange against a red slip, typical of Ixtlan del Rio variety Nayarit material. Large Pre-Columbian Colima Zoomorphic Incense Cover, Ancient West Mexico
A rare and fascinating zoomorphic incense cover from Pre-Columbian West Mexico. Circa 200 B.C. 300 A.D. likely attributed to the ancient Colima culture of West Mexico. This piece measures impressively at approximately 10" long by about 7 1/2" wide and about 6" tall. The form of the piece is complex. The handle appears to have been formed to represent the arched or undulating body of a lizard or snake, resting atop the dome-like body of the cover. The cover body features multiple rib-like ridges, perhaps meant to imply that the zoomorph is sitting atop a desert mound(with the ridges perhaps representing an eroded and blown sand landscape) Three feet on the bottom of the dome allow for this to function as a cover over a burnt offering(possibly copal incense) ensuring sufficient air can keep the substance smoldering, while the ... moredome-like lid allows for the area to retain heat sufficient to keep burning. Vessels of this type are well-documented in archaeological finds from this region, attributed to this function. Condition: Body is intact. With a repair at the neck of the head(with restoration over the break) and loss of the tail. Otherwise minor chipping, abrasions weathering and wear. Sediment and mineral deposits remain, indicative of an ancient piece. The underside exhibits staining from the burning of incense beneath this cover. Provenance: Former Lynn Langdon collection. One of them is a quartz rock carved like a face and most of it is broken off at the back. It measures about 2" tall. The other piece is some kind of lid or pendant because it has a little hole at the back. Looks like a lizard or dog or something. Measures about 1¼" tall. This ancient pre-Columbian head comes from Mexico from around the ancient city of Teotihuacan. The head is small measuring just over 1 1/4 inch wide and just under 1 1/4 inch tall. The head is made of heavily patinated brown clay and is intact from the upper lip to the top. Lower lip is missing. Large oval(alien) eyes are intact as is the nose. Huge Olmec Rare Stone Bead Pre-Columbian Ancient Artifact Mayan Mexico NR
Hi. I have a huge Olmec stone bead for auction. This awesome artifact was used as a massive bead, or possibly a staff top, or some other ceremonial purpose. This isa very solid and heavy piece. I has fantastic patina, deposits, and weathering in areas. In al my years of collecting, I have only seen one or two Olmec artifacts remotely like this in all the years that I have been collecting. It has a very striking appearance. This has always been one of my favorites. I have had it sitting on the shelf by my desk for many years. It obviously took them quite a bit of time to make this over 2,000 years ago. There are scores of chisel and gouge marks all over this great artifact, especially on the inside to hollow it out. Although it was made like a bead, it is so heavy that's why I believe it had some type of ceremonial purpose. Ancient Pre-Columbian head from Valley of Mexico Traces of Red Pigment
This ancient pre-Columbian head measures 2 1/4 inches wide by just under 1 1/2 inches tall. The head has well defined eyes. Nose and mouth. The head also has depictions of ear spools. There is a small amount of the original red pigment on the face. The head is complete and broken at the neck from the torso. The head was found in the valley of Mexico. Colima Bed Figure Pottery Ancient Artifact Pre-Columbian Mexico Mayan NR
Hi. I have an awesome Colima Bed Figure for auction. This authentic ancient artifact is in great condition. This figure has ear spools, headdress, and necklace. It has a pillow under it's head. This figure is bound to the bed which usually means that it was a medial patient. The straps were to hold them down while they were being operated on so that they couldn't move during surgery. Most bed figures just show the person reclining on their bed. There are many copies of ones similar to this that are given to Doctors. This one is the real deal. This great artifact date from 200BC-400AD. There appears to be an old repair to the back of this piece. It looks more like a crack stabilization, because the front shows no signs of cracks or repairs. This is a quality artifact. This is a great part of history, that now can be yours. Olmec Stone Were Jaguar Celt Pre-Columbian Ancient Artifact Mayan Mexico NR
Hi. I have an incredible Olmec green stone celt. It has the Olmec Were Jaguar face. There is a white matrix ont he top of the piece that makes it look like hair. The is a chip in the forehead of this great piece, probably from being dug up with a shovel. He has his arms crossed in front of him. the body comes down into the celt form at the bottom. This dates from 800-200BC. I bought this many years ago from a private collection that was acquired in the 1960's-70's.
